Dragonfly & Daisy Throwdown

At the Color Throwdown  this week, we have some fun and bright colors from Vickie…pink, green, and purple!

I think I’ll call my creation a “modern botanical,” using products from The Greetery!

I used the “Jumbo Curiosity: Dragonfly” Stamp and Stencil set and “Big Branches: Ruscus” die, along with “Written in Ribbons.”

The background was made with Papertrey Ink’s Raspberry Fizz cardstock. I embossed both the white and pink cardstock with Stampin’ Up’s “Subtle” 3D embossing folder. Then I cut flowers using The Greetery’s “Ribbon Maker: Daisy Chain” dies from Raspberry Fizz cardstock and glued them over the top. I spritzed the whole piece with a white frosted glimmer spray to match the glittery dragonfly. The sentiment is also heat embossed with A Muse Studio’s Diamond embossing powder.

I am so glad I got to experiment with such fun, bright colors that are outside of my comfort zone! I hope you’ll try them out and upload your creation to The Color Throwdown Challenge this week!

Morning Glory Throwdown

At the Color Throwdown Challenge  on the first day of SUMMER (!), we have a beautiful, patriotic color scheme and inspiration photo from Lynn…red, white, blue, and brown!

I used The Greetery’s “BotaniCuts: Morning Glories” to make a rustic garden scene…

I made a barnwood background using Betsy’s inking/painting technique HERE, then used Stampin’ Up’s Pinewood Plank 3D embossing folder over the top. I cannot tell you how much fun that wood is to create in ALL of the colors…you literally cannot make a mistake. It’s like a unique visual wonder every time!

I heat embossed a sentiment using Tim Holtz Distress Glaze in “Uncharted Mariner” The sentiment is from from Papertrey Ink’s “Land that I Love”…which is really THE perfect patriotic sentiment set!

Start your crafty summer off right and upload your creation with these colors at the Color Throwdown ! We can’t wait to see what you make!

Berry Basket Throwdown

This week at the Color Throwdown Challenge Blog, Lori chose a palette that is just perfect for summer (and anytime, really)! You can never go wrong with aqua, red, and yellow…

I made a shaped card using the sweet “Berry Basket” by Julie Ebersole from Ellen Hutson. You can use this die to make cards or 3D projects! The berries are cut with “BotaniCuts:: Strawberries” from The Greetery. I made my berry tops aqua, too, to stay consistent with the color scheme. I stamped Impression Obsession’s “Screen” Cover a Card background stamp on the berry basket. The sentiment is vintage Waltzingmouse Stamps :).

Come play along with us this week, and use the color inspiration to make something s little summery of your own! ☀️

As You See It Challenge 300!

This week the As You See It Challenge is celebrating their 300th Challenge! They are having a special one entitled “Adventure!”

I chose The Greetery’s “Destination” suite of products as they are loaded with adventure for any season and climate. This card features the “Destination Stencils,” along with the stamp sets “Destination: Summer” and “Destination: North Pole.”

Just hop in Simon Says Stamp’s “Vintage Christmas Station Wagon” and head in any direction! The sentiment is created with The Greetery’s “Slim Alphabet” dies…I’m getting a little bit better at aligning die cut letters…that, for me, is always an adventure 😂!

Congratulations to the As You See It Challenge team! I am so glad to have discovered your blog this year. You always present such a fun mix of creative themes and beautiful inspiration…then you visit and are so sweet and thoughtful in your comments, too! Thank you so much for sharing your crafty talent with us! ❤️

Heart Pocket Throwdown

A lovely, light set of colors by Lisa for the Color Throwdown  … mint, gray, and pink!

I chose to make a “Heart Leaf Posy Pocket” full of flowers from The Greetery!

Framed the pocket with the “Window Dressing: Dotted Scallops Die” and filled it with “BotaniCuts: Lavender” and “BotaniCuts: Morning Glories.” The sentiment is from “Takes the Cake.” I also made a pale dotted background using the 2 smallest dots from the classic Papertrey Ink set “Polka Dot Basics!”
