Make It Monday Sunshine

This week's Make it Monday at Papertrey Ink was by Betsy.  She inspired us to use watercolors with a stencil.  I cut a piece of cardstock with my Hexagon Cover Plate and used that as a stencil...

I used shades of yellow and orange to paint.  My hexagon stencil was cut from Scarlet Jewel cardstock, and it ended up reacting with the watercolors a bit, leaving some dark color along the edges.  Added a few clear sequins, and embossed the sentiment with black and diamond embossing powder so it sparkles a bit, too.  The sunshine is made with a medallion from Memory Box.  This card is kind of small for me, a 3x5 :).  Such a fun technique!

Stencils and Spring

Happy Easter!  A light and springy card for this week's Color Throwdown colors which I LOVE...coral, leaf green, yellow, and white.  I also used last week's sketch from CAS(e) this Sketch for ideas when making this card...

Here is my card, using Petite Pots from Papertrey Ink...

I used a Hero Arts stencil in the background with some Wendy Vecchi white embossing paste, as it reminded me of the bowl in the background of the inspiration photo!

The sentiment is stamped on vellum using Milo's Alphabet from Lawn Fawn.  Added the "YOU" with PTI's Headline Alphabet dies.

So inspired by all of the spring flowers popping up around our house and the sunshine we had this weekend!

Flowers for fun!

I haven't had a chance to use Betsy Veldman's new "Bloom & Grow" Make it Market Mini Kit from Papertrey Ink's Anniversary release!  It's such a sweet floral set.  I loved the DT samples on kraft paper, so tried it out with the stencils and stamps in the set and some Distress Inks.

The flower pot is cut from patterned paper.  Like Nichole Heady has shown recently, I added some details with a white pen, and some Glossy Accents, too.  Stamped a sentiment from the set on vellum, and used a lovely plaid embossing folder from Cuttlebug for the background.  No challenges today, just some spring fun!

Easter Challenge

At the Fusion Card Challenge, it's all about Easter and I was really inspired by this gorgeous photo!

I used A Good Egg by Claire Brennan to start my card...

I placed the egg over some white cardstock embossed with PTI's Woodgrain Impression plate, and some lovely Chicken Scratch gingham paper, too!

I have started quite a collection of mini stamped flowers with coordinating dies!  I can't seem to get enough of them!  This card has flowers and leaves from PTI's Bloom & Grow and Petite Pots, WPlus9's Fresh Cut Florals, and Simon Says Stamps' Artsy Flower Parts.

Loving the spring sunshine today here in upstate NY :)!
