You're a Star Sketch

A new sketch is posted at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog!  This week is a design by DT member Belinda Chang Langner!

...and here is my card

Loved this banner patterned paper from the Simple Stories "Fabulous" collection.  Thought they went perfectly with sentiments from Say It Loud!

I fancied up an old manilla tag that I got in a package one time!  Cut it into a new shape with the  Papertrey Ink Tag Sale #5 die and then stamped it with the herringbone pattern from Little Box Labels.  Used the plaid stripe and chevron pattern (on the center star) from Off Beat Backgrounds.  The stars were cut with dies from A Muse Studio and the button is from Basic Grey.  I think I went a little overboard with Belinda's simple sketch!!  :)

Can't wait to see your lovely tags with this sketch!  Upload your creation HERE by next Friday, August 3rd. Be sure to include at least one Waltzingmouse Stamps image on your project to be eligible to be the randomly-selected player who will win a WMS stamp set of choice!

Waltzingmouse Stamps Design Team Blog Waltz with PouchMart!

Seven members of the Waltzingmouse Stamps Design Team are sharing projects today using WMS images AND....lovely bags from

Pouch Mart is a wonderful webstore that sells bags in all different shapes, fabrics, colors, and sizes that are just perfect for gift-giving, weddings and showers, parties...the sky is the limit!  They also have a blog featuring creative ways to use their products.  They are generously offering a $25.00 Pouch Mart gift certificate to a randomly-selected commenter chosen from the DT members' blogs!  Another lucky commenter will win a free Waltzingmouse Stamp set of choice!  You have until 11:59 EST on Sunday, July 29th to leave comments.

The first bag that I get to feature is the Jute BagI chose the 3x5 size in the color "Bleached".

One look at these sweet little folksy bags and I was sunk!  I can't seem to stop using red, white, and blue this July...and I thought this patriotic theme would be perfect since the Olympic Ceremonies start tonight!  Maybe I should fill this with protein bars and send it to Michael Phelps :)!!  Hey, this color scheme is perfect for our host country, toooo!

I used Off Beat Backgrounds to stamp a plaid stripe in blue.  The little tag is made with images from Jar Fillers-Jam Packed.  The felt hearts are cut with the Memory Box Heart Chain Border die and embellished with little kraft-colored pearls.

The felt flower is made with the Bloom Builders #1 die from Papertrey Ink.  I also used a pinked edge circle from Memory Box and a star button from Basic Grey.

I also received the Polka Dot Organza Bag in the 4x6 size, in light blue with white dots.

This light shimmering bag made me think of sunny blue skies and puffy white clouds!  How could I not use my most favorite stamp set Earth Angel with it?

I paper-pieced her dress with paper from Lily Bee Design's "Double Dutch" Collection.  Wanted her wings to shimmer like the organza bag so added some Doodlebug glitter.  She's perched on a die cut tag from Verve Stamps and some matching polka dots!  The sentiment is also from the Earth Angel set, and the little felt heart is a leftover from project #1 :)!

Thanks so much to Pouch Mart for letting us sample their lovely products!  I can't wait to go look in the store again!  Also special thanks to Julia Aston for organizing this whole event!  Off you go to see what these Waltzingmouse Design Team Members have created with their Pouch Mart bag choices.

Be sure to leave your comments to be eligible to win those 2 awesome prizes.  Winners will be announced on Julia's blog on Monday July 30th.  Happy waltzing!

Denim Pinwheel Sketch

This week at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog is a most awesome sketch by DT member, Tosh Leyendekker!  I know for sure that I will want to make more cards with this lovely layout...

And here is my card...

Used Anya's Playful Pinwheels set and some papers from October Afternoon.  The denim, bandana, woodgrain, and ticking stripe prints are from the Sasparilla collection, and the kraft dot is from an older collection.  The cute ruler strip is actually washi tape from "wishywashi.com!  Did a little selective inking with the sentiment from the set.  I was covering the original sentiment with the pinwheel, so I decided to re-ink the "be" and add it over the top of the "happy" :)  After my pinky-peach blog party card, I was just dying to use my tried and true red and navy blue (hey, that rhymes!)  I just never tire of these colors on a card!

Your turn to make some magic with Tosh's sketch!  Upload your creation HERE by next Friday, July 27th.  Be sure to include at least one Waltzingmouse Stamps image on your project to be eligible to be the randomly-selected winner who will win a WMS stamp set of choice!

Stamps:  Playful Pinwheels, Waltzingmouse Stamps

Waltzingmouse Stamps July Blog Party!

It's the 17th, and that means a Blog Party with Waltzingmouse Stamps!   The theme this month is The Great Outdoors!  My card is inspired by the summer mornings I spent picking berries at a local farm here in upstate New York!

My Mom and I used to visit my sister for the summer.  My nephew and I are only 3 months apart in age, and he had been working at the farm so they asked if I could help out, too.  We would get up really early when it was still cool and work until about 10:00 AM.  Scott used to "choose" which row I should be in after we were assigned an area by the family running the farm.  You were paid by the amount of pints you picked, and it was quite a lot of money for a 12-13 year old!  After a week or so, I figured out that he always gave me the bad ones...you know, the ones with the least amount of berries, and then he would leave the good row for himself so he could fill more pints.  Well one day, I found a 20.00 bill sticking out of the mud in my row!   Sure made up for all the berries I was lacking :)  I waited until my Mom picked us up to pull it out of my pocket (was afraid he might tackle me and try to get it if there were no witnesses!)...that taught him a lesson, hee!

That's me, and my nephew Scott and his sister (my niece) Becky!

Alrighty, on to my card!  I loved all of the pinks and patterns in this summery paper from Pretty Little Studio.  It's from the "Sandcastle" Collection which also fits the great outdoors theme :)  The sentiment is from Big Berries-Strawberry which is available now in the store!  The paper bow is made with an adorable die from Lil' Inkers Designs.

I used the sweet woven basket image from Bountiful Baskets Additions and filled it with berries made with the tiny heart and leaves included in the new Jar Fillers-Jam Packed set (also available now)!  I stamped them in 2 colors, then stamped off and filled in some of the spaces in between.

Claire has a Mr. Linky set posted on her blog HERE.  You have 24 hours to play along, and 1 randomly-selected participant will win a stamp set of choice. She will also highlight some extra-special entries on her blog on July 20th.  Off to visit your blogs on this great outdoor adventure!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Jam Jar Sketch

Getting to the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge a little late this week, but glad to squeak one in before the busy summer weekdays start!  This week's sketch is inspired by a card by Design Team member Sandie Dunne!

Here is my card using the new sets Candy Jar and Jar Fillers-Jam Packed that are available for pre-order in the store HERE!

Used papers from Simple Stories "Summer Fresh" Collection.  I just can't help myself... keep reaching for this 6x6 pack almost every.single.time!  The little sunny dotted paper with the tag is part of the collection.  Didn't the sentiment "Spread a little happiness" fit inside perfectly?!  The sweet little polka dotted hearts are included in the stamp set.  Added a little green gingham strip with the Gingham & Co. stamp set.

Stamped the jar with the little fabric topper image.  I stamped it on a "burlap" piece of patterned paper from the collection, but then wrapped a piece of canvas around the jar.  Die cut some sweet scalloped circles and a heart out of felt for the "label".

Can't wait to see what you make with this week's sketch!  Upload your creation HERE by next Friday July 20th...or sooner if you would like to join in the BLOG PARTY festivities on Tuesday July 17th!  You can combine the sketch with the theme for the blog party The Great Outdoors!  Claire will open a Mr. Linky set on her blog at 2:00 PM EST.  See HERE for all of the blog party details!

Shabby Strawberry Sketch

Teresa Kline has created another lovely sketch for us this week at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog!

I thought it would be a lovely one to use with the new 3x4 set Big Berries-Strawberry that is available for pre-order at the store.  It will be ready to ship mid-July!  Since it wasn't quite ready to preview during the release, the DT will be sharing samples with it this month.

I LOVE how big and juicy it is...about 3 inches high when stamped!  Thought it would look deliciously shabby with these papers from My Mind's Eye "Vanity Fair" Collection.  It's so perfect with the Chicken Wire background stamp, TOO!

I stamped the image with Versamark ink on a pink piece of patterned paper from the collection and heat-embossed it.  Then I added white opal Liquid Pearls to make the dots stand out.  Added a be-buttoned flower blossom to make it extra sweet :)

Upload your sweet creations HERE by next Friday, July 13th.  Be sure to include at least 1 Waltzingmouse Stamps image on your project to be eligible to be the randomly-selected participant who will a WMS set of choice!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Big Berries-Strawberry, Chicken Wire, both Waltzingmouse Stamps

Waltzingmouse Stamps Release Day Blog Waltz!

YAY!  It's finally here, release day at Waltzingmouse Stamps!  You should be arriving here from Clare Buswell's blog, but you can always go back to Claire Brennan's blog if you are lost :)!

The 4 new stamp sets are up for sale and they can be purchased HERE in the store!  They are...My Island, Heroines-Fairy Princess, North Shore, and today's preview...

Playful Pinwheels!!  The next new set by Design Team member ANYA SCHRIER!!

This set is too much fun for words!  Anya created the set full of pinwheels in fun sizes, patterns, and sentiments...and then Claire drew up coordinating SVG files to use in electronic cutting machines!

My first card features the big open pinwheel.  There are separate pattern images so you can mix and match your pinwheels any way you like!  I chose the stripedy ones...made me think of the 4th of July!  Like yesterday, I used paper from My Mind's Eye "On the Sunny Side" Collection in the background.  Imagine my glee when I saw that it had pinwheels, too!

I added some extra small layers in the center with dimensionals.  Then I decided to put the whole thing on top of a cut file piece.

This next card features the mini pinwheel and some cute popsicle paper from the "On the Sunny Side" collection.  The star and chevron papers and the mini bingo card are from the Pretty Little Studio's "Sandcastle" collection.

I stamped the pinwheel with the stars and stripes pattern on the cut file, and then hand cut an extra layer to add on the top.  Don't you love the "Sunny side up" sentiment?  I think that it's perfect one to give someone a little encouragement.  I made my own sun by cutting a Spellbinders Lacey Circle in half!

Claire is having a contest!  There will be a prize of a stamp set of choice from a random drawing from comments left on the DT members' blogs.  Each DT member will randomly-select a comment from her blog and submit the name to Lynn, who will then put all of the names into a hat and pick the winner!  You will have until July 4th at 11:59 PM, 5:59AM Central, 3:59 AM Pacific and 6:59 AM Eastern to leave comments.

I hope you have a great time shopping today!  Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving me such wonderful comments this week!!
