Now you're in New Yoooork!

The Virtual Stamp Night Mini event is going on at Splitcoaststampers tonight from 6:00 through 10:00PM EST!  Challenges will be posted on the hour centering around the theme "Summertime in the Land that I Love".  Carol is hosting a challenge called "State Flower" and showed the coolest map of the USA with the flower of each state.  Can you hear me singing Jay-Z and Alicia Keyes' style..."Now you're in New Yooooork!  These streets will make you feel BRAND new, the lights will INSPIRE you, let's hear it for New Yoooork, New Yoooork, New Yoooooork!"  Oh yeah, New York's state flower is the ROSE, ha!  I glitzed it up Hip-Hop style with tons of bling.  And the sentiment....a shout out to Chelsea Clinton who is getting married tomorrow in New Yoooooork!!!!!

Sweet Cupcake

Pink Persimmon stamps and October Afternoon papers seemed like a perfect pairing for some more Dare to Get Dirty Challenges at SCS!  I combined sewing, a winged thing, and a sketch by Dirty Dozen Alumni Amber Dawn!  Stamps are from Vintage Cupcake and the NEW Mini Banner Greetings set, which I hand-stitched at the top.  My sewing machine might break free from the box very soon as I finally have a pal of mine (Carol!) who is back in town this summer and ready to show me how to thread it up!

The Heartmobile

This card is for 2 challenges at Splitcoaststampers this week.  Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge featured a baker named Hattie famous for her heart tarts and her VW Bug "with stenciled pink, purple, and red hearts, and custom made heart headlights"! The Dare to Get Dirty Challenges are also in full swing for Fan Club Members...I heard that there were going to be 33 Challenges posted in one week, yay!  This one is for Dirty Dozen Alumni Suzanne Dean's Challenge to make a card about a movie...of course, I thought that Hattie modeled her custom VW after Herbie the Love Bug!

Used PTI's Background Basics: Hearts and Enjoy the Ride sets.  Also used my first PTI felt in Vintage Cream, and let me say that stuff REALLY does cut like "buttah"!  Just look at how perfectly it cut with those cloud dies!

Watercolored Violets

The Queen for the Day Challenge created by Anne Ryan at Splitcoaststampers is such a fun one.  She chooses a member each week who participates in challenges BUT leaves comments regularly on everyone else's creations!  This week she chose Hobbydujour aka Sallie, an amazing stamper with a knack for making the most beautiful floral cards.  Check out Sallie's card that I cased!

I used PTI's Year of the Flower: Violets, then a sentiment from Year of the Flower:  Lily of the Valley.  I stamped the violets on watercolor paper with Stazon Black, then used Martha Stewart watercolor markers and a waterbrush to color them.  When the coloring was finished I ran the piece through my Cuttlebug using PTI's Linen Impression Plate.  After that, I distressed it with a sponge dauber and Tim Holtz's Antique Linen Distress ink.

So be sure to stop by and visit Sallie's gallery at Splitcoast!  Visit the link above.  When you click on her screen name, you can scroll down to "View Hobbydujour's gallery" and you will be in for an awesome tour through her virtual stamped garden!

Waltzingmouse Stamps...The Colors of Summer!

It's time for the Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Hop!  The theme for July is The Colors of Summer (and Ireland), BLUE and GREEN!

For my blue I chose "Paris Dusk" (Memento Ink) and for the green, PTI's Simply Chartreuse (ink and cardstock).  I have been obsessed with this blueberry color since seeing it on Claire's blog (not sure if it's the exact one, but I love it!).  Watercolored the basket with Martha Stewart watercolor markers...got a little overzealous with my waterbrush there, hee!

Used the following WMS Stamps: apple basket from Peace and Plenty, plaid and branch from Pic-Nic Patterns, frame from Very Vintage Labels No. 1, and sentiment from Sewing Box-Hugs.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Precious!

For today, a card featuring Pink Persimmon's AWESOME new set Baby Clothesline!  I stamped the images on watercolor paper, then colored then with a waterbrush and Martha Stewart's Watercolor markers (....well, they really aren't HERS, she just manufactures them :)  Then sentiment is from the equally cute new set Baby Greetings!

Pink Persimmon is releasing NEW stamps today!

It's release time at Pink Persimmon!  FOUR new stamp sets will be released today including the adorable baby sets Baby Clothesline and Baby Greetings!  These images were stamped on cardstock, and then added to one of Pink Persimmon's Tin-Tie Coffee Bags, also available at the store now!  The star image on this bag can be found in the set Little Cuties.

This card features another NEW set called Mini Banner Greetings along with the Flower Garden set.  There pretty much isn't anything hotter in the paper-crafting world  than banners right about now!

And yet another card featuring Baby Clothesline and one more new set "Mini Banner Alpha" used along the bottom to spell out "Sweet Dreams"...SO adorable!

There will be a giveaway at Pink Persimmon's Blog today!  Just visit and tell us the author and title of a "most inspiring book" in the comments section (art, craft, inspiration) so that you can be entered into the random drawing to win some new release goodies!  The post will stay open until midnight on Saturday, July 10th, and then a winner will be chosen on Sunday, July 11th!

I don't read many craft books, as I tend to stick to magazines.  My fave book of all time, though,  is called "The Glass Castle" by Jeannette Walls.  It is an inspiring memoir by a woman working for MSNBC detailing her rather eccentric, and sometimes harrowing, childhood.  It is SUCH a good read, you almost think that it is fiction.  I discovered it when I was pregnant with Claire.  I had something to keep me occupied for a few days while I stayed awake at night due to heartburn!

Be sure to visit the blogs of the rest of the Pink Persimmon Creative Team listed in the top right corner of my blog for some more wonderful inspiration!  Good luck!

Star Jar!

Happy July 4th!  Wouldn't you love to be able to capture some stars in a jar?  For 2 challenges at SCS, to use gold and a star, and to make a 4th of July card with NO red or blue...wow, that's hard!  Used PTI's Friendship Jar, Pink Persimmon's star from the Little Cuties set, sentiment from A Muse, and an old ticking stripe from a retired SU set!
