Butterfly & Macrame Throwdown

This week at the Color Throwdown Challenge, Wanda selected the softest and sweetest colors..blush, dusty rose, and white!

I was inspired by the layered tassels in the photo and took out the “Macrame” collection of products from The Greetery!

I made my background with the “Macrame: Openwork Base” and “Macrame: Diamond” dies. I used “Hoop and Fringe” with the “Jumbo Curiosity: Butterfly” and “Baby Face Sentiments” stamp set for the center, with a few little flowers from “Macrame: Borders and Tassels” along the edge.

Such a fun way to make a special card for a baby on the way! My niece is having a baby in September…and this card will be hers if it’s a girl!

Come play along with us at Color Throwdown this week. We can’t wait to see how these colors inspire YOU!

Busy Bees Throwdown

A set of zingy, citrus colors chosen by Vickie to start your week at the Color Throwdown Challenge …aqua, yellow, and celery green!

The bees are starting to get busy around here as everything is finally starting to blossom and bloom…

I used the Hero Arts “Honeycomb Fancy Die” that has all of these sweet little opening windows built into the die! I cut some of the doors off with an Exacto knife, then made a “tulle shaker card”! Used The Greetery’s line of bee products including “Honey Jar” stamps, the “Honey Bee” dies, and “Buzz-worthy Sentiments.” The teeny flowers inside were stamped with “AlphaBuds Bold: Floral Details.”

You can see the tulle (instead of acetate) if you look closely. I saw the idea on Jennifer McGuire’s blog awhile ago, and I think it’s so much easier to manage it. I tend to get glue, ink, or smudges all over my acetate windows 😂!

Come play along with us this week…we can’t wait to see what you make!

Sweet Pea Sketch

Playing along with Freshly Made Sketches this week with this sweet one from Jen Mitchell!

I cut down The Greetery’s “Curio: Divider and Details” die for my card…

I used The Greetery’s adorable new “Baby Face: Sweet Pea” dies with coordinating “Baby Face Stamps,” along with a bit of “Ribbon Maker: Daisy Chain.” Took a dive into the vintage closet with the watering can from Papertrey Ink’s “GreennThumb,” the “Broad Stripe Backgrounder,” from Cornish Heritage Farms, and teeny flower pots and blooms from Memory Box!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Cabbage Rose Throwdown

Lori Tecler chose the coolest inspiration photo for the Color Throwdown this week…featuring pink, green, and rust!

It immediately made me think of some of the Bongo cabbage rose print jeans I wore in high school in the 80’s! …And this card was born!

I used an 80’s mix tape of products, too, including “Petal Perfection “ and “Petite Painted Posies” from The Stamp Market, “Farmer’s Market Florals” from Papertrey Ink, and the “Spring Meadow Background” and a sentiment from “Opposites Attract” from The Greetery!

It’s so much fun to try color schemes that you would never think up on your own! Thanks for stopping by!
