Papertrey Ink June Blog Hop

The ideas were flowing when I saw this delicious inspiration photo for Papertrey Ink's June Blog Hop!

My Salt Air products just arrived so I decided to make a rainbow underwater scene!

So many layers of ink and stamping! I started by sponging Tim Holtz Distress Inks for the background, then splattering on some water mixed with gold Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.

I added some Salt Air: Flora images stamped along the bottom, then heat embossed them with clear powder.

I die cut some fish using the Reef Builder dies, sponged them to match where I wanted them placed on my background, and added a sentiment from Salt Air: Sentiments.

I die cut Salt Air: Fauna, and sponged ombre colors onto the pieces before stamping the images so that I wouldn't have stark white edges. Once I started stamping, I used my MISTI so that I could layer different colors on the fauna images. Lastly, some Nuvo Drops in all of the colors... because I am a little obsessed, ha!

Thanks so much for hopping by!

Seahorse Throwdown

School's out, woo hoo! So happy when Papeetrey Ink's new Salt Air stamps arrived just in time for me to have, well...TIME! This week's Color Throwdown colors of peach, pale pink, hot pink, and green were perfect for an ocean scene...

I stamped and die cut the sweet seahorses from Salt Air:Fauna and added some Diamond Stickles...

Then, I made a background by sponging Tim Holtz Mowed Lawn Distress Ink, stamping some sea plant images from Salt Air: Flora in two shades of green, adding some light green Crystal Nuvo Drop bubbles, and stamping an adorable sentiment from Salt Air:Sentiments.

I have a feeling you are going to be seeing a lot more of these sets here in the future, they are amazing and so much fun to stamp! Thanks for swimming by...;)!

Lighthouse Throwdown

Some lovely cool tones for this week's  Color Throwdown Challenge ... aqua, black, and white...which made me think of Papertrey Ink's "Guiding Lights" set...

Here is my take on this breezy, striped, summery inspiration photo,

I used PTI's "Cover Plate :Waves" to make an impression on watercolor paper, then colored with Zig Clear Color Watercolor Markers and a water brush.

I added the sentiment from "Guiding Lights" on a sheet of Judkins Embossable Window Plastic and heat embossed it in white.

This card is more masculine, so I didn't turn it into a shaker like I originally planned, but did add one iridescent sequin for a "light" and embossed the outer frame with "Cover Plate: Waves,"
to match up with the inner layer. What inspiring colors this week!

Make it Monday: Lots of Dots

Michelle Leone had a fabulous PTI "Make it Monday" this week in which she added colorful dots to her card by using Nuvo Drops on a stamped image! Since I purchased "Butterfly Blooms" AND Nuvo Drops after using them at Michelle's house, I used them again for this technique...

I heat embossed the butterfly in white on watercolor paper, then used my Zig Clean Color Watercolor Markers to color it. The background is made with the Lace Bouquet stamp set, also embossed in white. I sponged some Distress Inks over the background to add soft color to highlight the lace images.

I used Crystal Nuvo Drops to color the butterfly, then added a sentiment from Butterfly Blooms and a few clear sequins.  Nuvo Drops are VERY addicting! Once you buy one bottle, you want all of the colors! Thanks to my "play date" with Michelle and Karen Walker, I have quite a few bottles now 😊!!
