Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

This month for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop, we were to use this beautiful photo as an inspiration piece.

I thought that these colors would look lovely for tulips, so out Tulip Time came again!

I was inspired by the colors, bits of sparkle and gold/bronze metallics, and the script font and curves of the banners.  Also, I noticed the square slate in the picture, and used an old background stamp that I had stamped in Tim Holtz Hickory Smoke onto the grey paper.

It was difficult not using a white background for the tulips, but I did it!  Such a fun challenge that pushed me out of my comfort zone with this color scheme.  Never thought about it for a spring card, but it's so pretty!

First Ever SFYTT!

I am participating in my first ever Sketch For You to Try with Reverse Confetti!  I have had a week off from school and we have mainly relaxed at home.  That means time for me to stamp AND time for me to blog hop and find things that I need!  When I saw that Blooms 'N Buds was back in stock, had to have it!

So I used this week's sketch, although I turned it, then kind of reversed it (no pun intended :)) so that I could have a sunshine in the background...

I stamped the flowers in front of a fence die cut, then blended a sun with Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink in the background.

The sentiment is created by using the negative pieces from the Happy Pretty Panels die, and "birthday" from a PTI set.  I don't think you've seen the last of these cheerful flowers this weekend, they are so much fun to stamp!

Flower Masked Sentiment

I was inspired by card HERE by Emily Midgett which was made during Make it Monday #221 when Ashley Newell masked off sentiments.

This sentiment is from Think Big Favorites #2.  I stamped it on a post it note, cut around it, then placed it on top of this stamped sentiment.  I then stamped the flower tops and mini leaves from Bitty Bouquets around the covered sentiment.  Added some flowers from one of Betsy's Make it Market kits and some sequins to finish the look.  Still love the Chicken Scratch gingham paper...especially in Aqua Mist!

Papertrey Anniversary Tulips

Finally getting the chance to play along with Papertrey Ink's 10 year anniversary celebration.  I am working backwards, and starting at 2016!  I haven't used Tulip Time in so long and was very inspired by all of the tulip creations!

I stamped the tulips with my MISTI and then added a white embossed sentiment from the set.

Only a little bit of twine and glossy accents as "dew drops" for embellishing.  I was inspired by Ashley's, Melissa's, AND Wanda's cards and used some elements from each :)!

A Latte Birthday Wishes

My daughter had a party for two friends this weekend who combined their birthdays into one big celebration at LaserTron!  Claire has always loved the "Love You a Latte" and "Milo's Alphabet" stamp setsfrom Lawn Fawn, and I was dying to try out more names with my Concord and 9th "Sophisticated Script" uppercase and lowercase sets.

I decided to do "quick" cards with only a little embellishing since they are for 12-year old girls... so, you know what that means.  They took me FOREVER!  I have such a hard time keeping cards literally "clean" when going clean and simple!  Always a smudge here, an unstamped letter there! But somehow we got to LaserTron on time :)!

Love You a Latte Sketch

This week I am playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch following Michele Ferguson's beautiful sketch.   So versatile and fun!

I used two sets from Lawn Fawn, "Love You a Latte" and "Milo's Alphabet."

I die cut some of the cute cups and little heart and bean images, then paper-pieced the cups with some old My Mind's Eye patterned papers.  Sponged some pink Distress inks mainly on the center of the paper then splattered some watered-down pink and blue acryllic paints.  Lastly some teeny Stickles dots all around to add some Valentine sparkle :)!

Nordic Mitten Valentine

I combined two challenges this week, the lovely sketch by Karren Johnson for Freshly Made Sketches with the colors from Color Throwdown!

I chose to use my Nordic Winter & Sewing Box Christmas sets by Claire Brennan. Nordic Winter is now available at Gina K Designs.

I cut a panel with a small rectangular Nestabilities die, and then stamped a pattern from Nordic Winter underneath in pink, latte, and apple red (Amuse Studio inks).  I stamped a different image on the mitten from Sewing Box Hugs using the same order of colors.  The little hearts are also from Nordic Winter.

I wanted a mix of fonts for the sentiment, so used the lowercase Sophisticated Script set from Concord & 9th to create "warm," and then two words from Sewing Box Christmas in dark brown to finish it off.  I just love these colors together!
