25 Days of Christmas Tags: Day 18 Inspiration

Day 18 of Tracey's tags was all about Neat & Tangled! Natalie Elphinstone had the most adorable angel tag that I used for inspiration, with a softly-colored sky filled with stars!

Used Earth Angel from Waltzingmouse Stamps. Paper-pieced her dress and heat embossed her wings on vellum.

Sponged some ink for the sky and heat embossed a sentiment from AMuse...it's from "Joy to the World" like Natalie's and says "Let heaven and nature sing" Die cut stars using Simon Says Stamps' "Hearts and Stars" die then used a Wink of Stella pen to sparkle them up!

This has always been one of my favorite stamp sets!

Tracey McNeeley's 25 Days of Tags-Day 9 Inspiration

Today is my first day to play along with Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags!  She has oodles of wonderful sponsors and prizes...and the best part? Loads of inspiration from Tracey and so many guests and designers!

My first tag is for Tracey's Day 9, sponsored by Pink & Main. I chose Kathy Schweinfurth's tag for inspiration, with its sweet treats, paper bow, and gingham "tablecloth," so sweet!

I used WPlus9's adorable new Cookies and Cocoa stamp and die set. Love how those cookies look three dimensional, and the mug has a slot for marshmallows!

Icebreaker Pig

Secret Santa-ing continues at work, and my giftee loves pigs...and Icebreaker candies.  So I combined the two...

The face was made with stitched circle dies from Simon Says stamp, black twine, and some gems/acrylic dots.  The feet are pink ribbon with bits of black ribbon glued on top.

I red line taped 3 Icebreaker containers together for the body!

The tag is made with some oldie but goodie stamps from A Muse (pig), Saltbox Studio (fence), tree (Stampin' Up), and Mixed Messges (PTI).

That's all folks, ;) (rolled rose Die-Namic, hee)!

Chalkboard Sketch

I got to play along with CAS(E) This Sketch this week!

The dotted line made me think of a school-themed card.  This one uses some old images from AMuse Studio and a sentiment from Hampton Arts.

The ruler was stamped on some gold woodgrain paper and the sentiment and dotted line were heat-embossed in white.

I stamped the alphabet on denim paper hearts that I cut with a PTI die.  The apple is stamped on PTI's white linen paper so the texture showed right through!

So much fun!  Thanks for stopping by!

Penguin Tag

A quick little tag made for a Secret Santa gift that my daughter is giving to a friend at her next Girl Scout meeting.  The gift she gave is penguin-themed so...

I used Waltzingmouse Stamps "Folded Tag" die because my daughter Claire's name had to be a secret on the inside :). The penguin is a retired wood stamp from A Muse. The pretty plaid paper is from DCWV.  It had red glittered lines so we made the heart reinforcer on the tag, and the penguin's beak and feet match. Stamped Sophia's name with Lawn Fawn's "Milo Alphabet"...my favorite alphabet stamp set EVER!  It really is easy to line up and I love that it's small and trendy, too!  I should make up some more to have on hand, the girls really liked this one!

Silver & Gold

I'm joining the Challenge Chicks once again, and I chose this month's theme..."Silver and Gold."  I thought it would be perfect for the upcoming holidays, both Thanksgiving AND Christmas!

Christmas cards are my favorite to make and I find that I am making them earlier and earlier each year.  I skipped Halloween cards and went right to them in October!

I chose to make a silver and gold version of this Christmas tree card using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and Delicata inks...

The tree images are from A Muse Studio's "Peaceful Forest" set.  They are stamped in Versamark and embossed in white.  I traced around each with a Copic marker...W1 for the gold card and C1 for the silver.

Before stamping the tree, I spritzed cardstock with Guilded Gold Glimmer Mist

The tag is cut with the largest tag in the Waltzingmouse Stamps Stitched Tag die set.  I love these bells from Michaels...a frosted glitter one and dull silver.  Some silver sparkle twine, too!

This one was spritzed with Glacier Glimmer Mist both before and after I stamped the tree.  The sentiments are from Waltzingmouse Stamps "Nutcracker Sweet" set.

Be sure to check out the other girls' "Silver and Gold" creations!

Pinecone Sketch

I know that I shouldn't, but I'm starting to get in the holiday spirit what with the debut of some Christmas stamps, catalogs, papers, and embellishments everywhere!  I used this week's versatile sketch by Karren Johnson at Freshly Made Sketches to add to my Christmas card stash...

Here is my card...

Stamped the sentiment from A Muse Studio's "It's a Wonderful Life" set on black cardstock in white ink for a chalkboard look. The background is stamped with the most realistic woodgrain image I've ever seen....Stampin Up's "Hardwood" background!

The festive pine bough is from Waltzingmouse Stamps "Festive Foliage" set.  Added some linen red gingham washi tape and red jingle bells to amp up the rustic cheer :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

12 Kits of Occasions...with ME!

It's my turn to share a kit at the 12 Kits of Occasions Blog and I had so much fun planning it and then sending it out!   Kara made this amazing photo collage of it ( I put it on the "extra large" setting because it's such an awesome collage) and she even gave it a title! :)  All of the supplies you see are listed HERE.

As soon as I saw Echo Park's " 'Tis the Season" patterned paper collection with a chalkboard theme, I knew it was the 6x6 pad for me!  As I mentioned on the 12 Kits blog already, I used this sheet of paper from the pad to give me ideas for all of the elements to include in the kit such as stamped images, sentiments, and die cuts.

Oh that Scottie dog caught my eye!  So up first is this cute one from Pink Persimmon!

I thought he would look perfect jingling along in the snow in his rhinestone collar and houndstooth coat.  That is one of my favorite sentiments that I own!  It's a wood mount stamp from the former A Muse Artstamps :)

Then it was time to get chalky!  This is the new Chalk Background from Hero Arts with the charming 2011 Heirloom Ornaments from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

And now for the amazing sentiments!  These are new from A Muse Studio, a cling set called "It's a Wonderful Life," and they stamp so beautifully!  I added some "chalk" detail around the words with a white pencil.  This background stamp is so authentic...just a little white ink on dark cardstock and you get the perfect vintage chalkboard look.

Time for some tags!  This one uses another fave image of mine...the "Xmas Stocking" by Anna Wight for Whipper Snapper Designs.  It's hanging from a sweet, tiny new Memory Box die called "Festive Lights" and is paired with another sentiment from "It's a Wonderful Life."

Speaking of Memory Box, I fell in love with this gorgeous Deer Collage stamp from them while shopping at my fave little stamp store "One Little Spark" in Tuckerton, New Jersey this summer :)  It looks regal with the L'il Inkers Snowflake dies and a silver-embossed sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps' Festive Foliage set.

I colored with the C1 and C3 Copic markers...and turned him into Rudolph!

Now for another great Memory Box find...this little tag cut with the Pocket Tag die!  Perfect to slip a little something in...we tried a gift card which didn't quite fit, but some dollar bills did :)!  I "Stickled" up my favorite candy cane from Waltzingmouse Stamps' Sewing Box-Christmas, and placed it on the outside pocket.  I actually cut 2 tags with the die and used patterned paper for the pocket flap (it's glued over the original black cardstock flap). The cute reinforcer piece is cut with a die included with the tag.

More mini tags, this one cut with Papertrey Ink's newest Tag Sale #8 die...

More pencil detailing on this sentiment from A Muse Studio's "It's a Wonderful Life."  The PTI Holly Jolly dies are sugar coated with Martha Stewart's clear coarse glitter.

Another fabulous Hero Arts Stamp, the Pen & Ink Christmas Tree paired with a sentiment from their new clear set "Banners and Messages."

I detailed this with white pencil but then coated over the top of that with a Sakura Stardust pen...very shimmery in the sunlight!

This next tag got away from me a little bit, hee!  It's very dotty!

The tree is embossed with a Sizzix dot folder and then I colored each one with a chalk marker.

The little tag and heart are both made from wood veneer and then painted.  The heart is from Studio Calico and the tag is made by Ball Jars.  I used a beautiful new sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps new "Seasonal Flourish" sentiment set.

Last but not least, another beloved retired wood mount stamp from A Muse Artstamps (also purchased at One Little Spark a few years ago)...Snow Gent (and his Starbucks cup, hee)! with a sentiment from "It's a Wonderful Life."  The tree and snowflakes in the background are from Papertrey Ink's "In the Meadow" stamp set.

So there you have it!  I think I am having kit letdown now!  Luckily, I have tons of inspiration from these ladies coming up and the stamp sets to try their ideas out!  All of the supplies for this month's kit are listed on the 12 Kits of Occasions blog HERE.  You can also find us on Facebook HERE and our Pinterest page HERE.

Back to School!

The first full week of school and I thought it would be fun to play along with my first Curtain Call Challenge since the theme is "Back to School"!  Here is the inspiration photo...

Here is my card,

I was thinking about THIS awesome card by Kath when I made it...I think I am a little bit obsessed with it :)!!   I loved her layout and fun patterned trees.  I added some fun cork paper from Crate Paper and dusted the edge of my black cardstock to look like a chalkboard.

Used apples from Waltzingmouse Stamps Peace and Plenty set and a ruler image and sentiment from A Muse Studio's "School Days" set.  Stamped the ruler on MME woodgrain paper to make it look more authentic.

Maybe this summer being over thing isn't so bad after all...I am feeling quite stampy lately ;)!  Thanks for stopping by!
