Gnome Throwdown

This week at the Color Throwdown was a unique color combination to play with...orange, gray, and cream!

Those funny pumpkin faces made me think of another funny face...on the Gnomes Stencil from Simon Says Stamp!

I inked the gnome with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks using a combination of Carved Pumpkin, Wild Honey, Dried Marigold, Weathered Wood, and Hickory Smoke. The fun forest background is also
a stencil called "Into the Woods" from Hero Arts. I inked it with the same combination of inks.

I added white whisker details with a gel pen and some Wink of Stella pen. There are mini cream colored stars and "Diamond" Stickles. His nose has Glossy Accents and there are tiny Nuvo Drops on his robe and in the forest background. I added one teeny heart to match the sentiment.

The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps' "Compact Sentiments." I thought it was perfect since his face smile is invisible, ha! Thanks for stopping by!

Hocus Pocus!

At the Simon Says Stamp Blog's Monday Challenge, the theme was "Spooky!" I used the Waltzingmouse Stamps set "Cicely at Halloween" along with a new Tim Holtz stencil called "Hocus Pocus!" The stencil is available at Simon Says Stamp!

I inked a background using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot. I placed the stencil and inked the stars in the same colors, then used Nuvo Glitter Paste in "Moonstone" over the top.

I used Tombow and Zig Clean Color markers and a waterbrush to color Cicely then added Sakura Stardust pen all over her outfit. I fussy cut the image, too, and popped her up with dimensionals.

Some bats and a big spider from Waltzingmouse Stamps' "Halloween Party," and a sentiment and from "Cicely at Halloween."

Quite the spooky spell that fashionable Cicely has set in motion! Thanks for stopping by!

Bewitched Sketch

This week at Freshly Made Sketches is this fun one by Lee Ann!

I chose to make a spooky card with the Waltzingmouse Stamps classic set "Halloween Party!"

First, I stamped "bewitched"in gray ink on white cardstock using Concord & 9th's "Sophisticated Script" stamp set. Then I inked a background over it with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, and Black Soot. I left a circular spot for the glowing cauldron and added Barn Door, Ripe Persimmon, and Squeezed Lemonade.

I stamped the witch and cauldron with VersaFine Black and heat embossed with clear powder. Added lots of starbursts and her magical spell bolt from the set and heat embossed with gold detail powder. The mini "Time to Fly" sentiment is also gold embossed and is from the WMS set "Gracie at Halloween."

I traced over "Bewitched" with a Sakura Stardust gel pen.

Some Diamond Stickles stars in the sky, which take on a fun greenish gold twinkle over the background inks. Lots of coordinating Nuvo Drop potion bubbles for a finishing touch...Happy Halloween!

Merry Ornaments Sketch

A perfect sketch for your Christmas card stash presented by Jacquie at Freshly Made Sketches!
I chose to use The Stamp Market's sweet "Mini Ornaments" along with a sentiment from "Candy Cane Christmas!"

Colored the ornaments and sprigs from The Stamp Market's "Holiday Greenery" dies with Karin markers and a waterbrush. The center panel is stamped with their "Cross Cross Background" on vellum and heat embossed in white. There is red paper behind which took on a rosy hue!

The white outer frame panel is embossed with Stampin' Up's 3D Woodgrain Embossing folder. It.is.AMAZING!! Some Glossy Accents, Sakura Stardust pen details, and Nuvo Drop polka dots to round this one out.

I could just use my Christmas stamps all year long and be totally happy! Thanks for stopping by!

Van Throwdown

This week there are some warm fall colors at the Color Throwdown Challenge blog which were perfect for an October birthday card for my great nephew!

I chose the The Greetery's new "Christmas Care-a-Van" stamps with Papertrey Ink's Scene It and Headline Numbers dies to celebrate Owen's 13th birthday :).

Used the clouds and mountains Scene It dies, and shaded the 13 too, kind of like the sun rising behind the mountains. Stamped the van using Distress Oxide inks.

Added a little Glaze gel pen to the numbers but no other embellishments. Owen always appreciates my cards but he is a 13 year old 😉! So fun, can't wait to use this set for Christmas tags!

First for Christmas

I received my new stamps from The Greetery and have been wanting to try them out all week. Today I made my first Christmas card of the season with images from "Christmas Eve!"

I tried stamping with no die cuts to go for more of a painted look. When I tried to mask the tree behind the church, I made a gap that was too big, so I started adding acrylic paint snow
everywhere 😄!

Then out came Perfect Pearls for more snowy splatters, and the Pathway and Frosty Flakes stencils lightly sponged with Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink for some added detail.

This set is a dream, it's so easy to make beautiful cards with it! Can't wait to make more! ❤

Autumn Bouquet Throwdown

Beautiful fall colors for this week's Color Throwdown...purple, lavender, orange, and green!

I chose lovely stamps and stencils from The Greetery for my card. I used the Knit Wits stencil with texture paste for the base, then lightly stenciled with Tim Holtz Milled Lavender Distress Oxide Ink on the main panel. The bouquet is made with berries and wheat from Budding Beauties Autumn.

The background at the top was made using the floral and leaves stencils in the Mason Jars Filler stencil set. I added some orange Nuvo Drops, too, and a sentiment from Reverse Confetti's "Tall Blooms."

Thanks for stopping by!

World Card Making Day with Simon Says Stamp!

It's World Card Making Day, and Simon Says Stamp showcased cards made by designers all aroumd the globe HERE!

They asked what we made today, and I used the new Simon Says Stamp Stamptember "Flora" stencil...

Unfortunately, I have a few sympathy cards to make, but I wanted one for a co-worker that was pretty and not too somber. I didn't think she would mind a little sparkle and pink to remember her mom. I heat embossed a sentiment with white powder from Reverse Confetti's "Tall Blooms."

I inked over the stencil using Tim Holtz Festive Berries Distress Oxide ink and a blending brush. Then, I shaded the flowers with watercolor markers, and added some clear Nuvo Drops for the berries, and Stickles on the bases. Added some Wink of Stella pen to the blooms as an afterthought, and so glad I did. The shimmering flowers are gorgeous, and will hopefully convey warm thoughts, and bring a smile!
