Make it Monday: Banner-ific!

Michelle Leone challenged us to make a banner-ific creation for Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday Challenge this week. I made one using a PTI Banner die and the adorable new penguin set "Warmer Together."

Stamped and die cut the penguins and added some Crystal Snow glitter on their bodies. Stamped a sentiment from the set in Stazon Ink, as I was going to add water to the background...

Cut the banners, did a color wash in blues and grays with my Zig Clear Color Markers, then ran them through my Cuttlebug with a Sizzix Snowfall embossing folder. (Also splashed them with some watered down white paint.)

Cut snowflakes using PTI's "Silver White Winters" dies, then strung up the banner with silver sparkle baker's twine.

Such a sweet idea for holiday decor, thanks for the inspiration  Michelle!

A Merry Llama

More watercolor play and Pinkfresh Studio stamps, this time the "Festive Llama" set.  Stamped the llama in Antique Linen ink then colored him with Zig Clean Color Markers and a small brush.

Added a piece of kraft cardstock covered with the Snow Flurries stencil from MFT and texture paste. Added tiny stamped foliage and decor images included in the set, too.

Some glitter detail on the Santa hat and woven blanket, and lots of fun Nuvo Drop ornaments!

Great Joy Wreath

I loved Pinkfresh Studio's "Great Joy" stamp and die set the moment I saw it, and knew it would be coming to a mailbox near me! It's a cold Nor' Easter-y kind of weekend in upstate NY, so I'm glad to have some time to stamp!

I heat embossed the image in white, cut the wreath and bow out with the dies, then used Zig Watercolor markers and a small brush to paint in and around the scene.

Added some pink and green Nuvo Crystal drops and a silver-embossed sentiment. Included in the set are tiny coordinating foliage images that I stamped along the edge.

A bit of sparkle on the animals with a Wink of Stella pen. Isn't this set so adorable?!

Celebrating 50!

I made a card for my sister and brother-in-law who celebrated their 50th anniversary on October 12th!

I used WPlus9 Studio's Freehand Florals, a sentiment from Fresh Cut Florals, and Papertrey Ink's Headline Numbers dies.

I incorporated their wedding colors of raspberry and navy... some pink, and gold for their golden anniversary!

Some Nuvo drops and gold Liquid Pearls for a little elegant texture 💕!

Starry Night Challenge

Playing along with the Monday Challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog. This week was the theme "Starry Night," so I chose to make a winter night scene using Sizzix products.

I got the snowman dies and stamps from SSS, and the stitched hills were from Lawn Fawn.

Made the background using a Sizzix "Primitive Star" as a stencil, and Distress inks in Tumbled Glass, Wilted Violet, and Seedless Preserves. Cut some mini stars from the leftover background pieces. Had to finish it off with some white glittery snow!

Make it Monday:Patterned Frames

This week's Make it Monday Challenge at Papertrey Ink is to use patterned paper and dies to make a fancy frame. I chose last year's Mix & Mat die set featuring the snow and evergreen frame along with paper from the Wonderland Make it Market kit.

Added a scene inside with Winter Village and a sentiment from Holiday Button Bits, and the corners are decorated with a bow and greenery from Tinsel & Tags

So fun to make scenes with images from Betsy Veldman's sets!

Cups Sketch

I love the vertical sentiment panel this week at Freshly Made Sketches! This sketch was a fabulous one created by Cecile Ribon.

I used Lawn Fawn's Thanks a Latte and Milo's Alphabet sets to make a card for my Starbucks-loving daughter Claire, who turns 13 on the 14th!

Stamped, die-cut and paper-pieced the cups with paper from Echo Park.

.

Added some hearts and Nuvo Drops, then stamped ❤ U A Latte on vellum and heat-embossed with white powder.

Adding this card to the Simon Says Stamp Blog World Card-Making Day Challenge, it's been a fun long weekend of stamping here!

Scarecrow Throwdown

At the Color Throwdown Challenge, this week there are some fresh fun colors,
 navy blue, green, and lime...

I chose to use the colors to make a nontraditional fall card with PTI's Autumn Scarecrow set.

I paper-pieced the scarecrow's outfit, and also the pumpkins with some woodgrain paper

Added cloud and Tiny Tag die cuts with a sentiment from the set that I masked and stamped separately. A few Nuvo Drops in white and lime, and that's my card for fall, y'all! 😊

Jellyfish Wishes

It's World Card Making Day! So glad I got to make a birthday card for my great-nephew Owen. He was 12 this week, and we're celebrating my daughter's early 13th birthday with him today.

Owen loves all things nature and ocean, so my Salt Air collection from Papertrey Ink was perfect to use.

I did a little shaker card for him, with the jellyfish in his underwater scene getting the spotlight treatment 😊.

I stamped Text and Texture: Ocean in 2 shades of blue, then cut a circle out of it. Underneath is the jellyfish and scenery from Salt Air:Fauna, Salt Air: Flora, and a plant cut with the Reef Builder die set. Also used the Sand Swatch mini stamp set along the bottom. The sentiment is from Sentiment Staples: Birthday in 2 tones of ink. A clear acrylic sheet over the top with some glitter, sequins, and Wink of Stella pen details underneath the sea!
