Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release Previews, Day 1

Claire has the most awesome release at Waltzingmouse Stamps to round out the summer!  She is releasing 9 new sets this Saturday, August 10th!  Today we are featuring 3 sets...and they are sure to be the most beautiful nautical sets that you have EVER seen! Claire and our sweet DT member Renee Lynch collaborated on these sets and did such an amazing job!   They are:  Ocean Bound, Safe Harbor Sentiments, and Tying the Knot.

Up first is a little set of projects inspired by this nautical book bag that I saw when walking through a Barnes & Noble book store the other day...

Blue French Stripe Canvas Summer Tote with Seahorse Charm (14'' x 16'' x 7'')

I found this adorable tutorial for making totes from Amanda Coleman seen HERE and made some nautical ones of my own using some 12x12 papers (Bo Bunny, The Paper Loft, Recollections) and images from Ocean Bound.

First up is one that would be such a fun way to give a gift card for an "old salty" guy in your life :)

The little tag is made with images from the set.  And as you can see, I got out my sewing machine for these projects!  Good thing it already had red thread in it, because that was just what I wanted.  Not sure I would have been able to re-thread it without studying the manual for a few hours!

This one is my version of the Barnes and Noble tote!

I just LOVE those seahorses!  This one would be sweet for a baby shower gift card:)

Up next are 2 cards that are both rather CAS for me, but I have to say...with these sets, the cards practically make themselves.  Some more images from Ocean Bound for a background.  The sentiment was heat embossed with white powder on vellum, and then placed over woodgrain paper.

And a lovely sentiment from Safe Harbor Sentiments, possibly one of the coolest sentiment sets ever created for encouragement cards.

I paired it with some textured paper from DCWV and more images from Ocean Bound (and I still have more to use from that set)!

Isn't this SUCH an exciting release already?!  Come back to see 3 more sets showcased tomorrow!

IMPORTANT NEWS:  There has been an email glitch in Claire's computer system, so she would like any customers (past or present!) to go read her blog post HERE for information about how to sign up again to receive emails from Waltzingmouse Stamps!  As you can see from today's release previews, you wouldn't want to miss THOSE!

Be sure to visit the DT members' blogs for more awesome nautical projects today!

Challenge Chicks for August

It's time for another round of Challenge Chicks!  Sadly I missed Christmas in July last month, but I am back to celebrate FLOWERS this month with Diane!

I chose a Camellia by Waltzingmouse Stamps...

I colored it with Copic makers and paired it with some "5th & Frolic" paper from American Crafts.

I also cut 3 separate Camellias and layered them up with dimensionals.  I thought the paper in the background reminded me of mini ones!

I also used this week's sketch (turned on its side) from Freshly Made Sketches.  It was created by Jennifer Timko.

We would love for you to create a floral project with us this month!  Just upload your creation to Splitcoaststampers using the keyword "CHXAUG13" or post it on your blog and link it to our Facebook page HERE!

For more projects visit these chicks today...

Supplies:
Stamps:  Camellia, Waltzingmouse Stamps
Paper:  American Crafts "5th & Frolic", Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream
Ink:  Memento Espresso Truffle, Copic markers
Other:  Recollections gems

12 Kits for July!

Welcome to the 12 Kits of Holidays post for July...except now we are The 12 Kits of Occasions, and we have SO many fun things to talk about this month!  First, we must start with the fabulous kit supplied by the lovely Christina!  She created such a colorful and chic one with so many trendy images and embellishments to celebrate BIRTHDAYS!

The paper this month is from Echo Park's "A Perfect Summer" collection and I just love it!

Up first is a card with a sweet cupcake die cut from WPlus9 Design Studio's "Sweets and Treats" set topped with a "cherry" (in the form of Basic Grey Candy Dots)!  Loved the matching paper in the background and that fun sentiment (also from the set).

I was obsessed with those teeny wood veneer stars from Studio Calico!  I decided to add color to mine with some folk art paint.

Christina supplied us with the most beautiful sentiments from Hero Arts "Many Birthday Messages" set with elements that were heat embossed in gold.  So awesome!

They worked perfectly with the little "Satin gold" sequins from Ellen Hutson.

Loved the idea of the L'il Inker balloons floating against a sunny sky! And another painted star...this time a teeny tiny red one!

This paper reminded me of birthday candles.  Paired candle die cuts from my own Birthday Style set from Papertrey Ink with another one of Christina's awesome Hero Arts sentiments.

Stamped the flames with Delicata Ink in Golden Glitz and added some golden pearls.

Lastly, some sparkling cupcakes from WPlus9 Design Studio "Sweets and Treats" set with a sentiment from Mama Elephant's "Soiree" set...

The glitter pieces underneath are this awesome glitter tape.

There you have it!  And now for some fun news...12 Kits has its own blog AND Facebook page now!  (And can't forget about our Pinterest Board HERE).  Our blog will feature fun things all month such as sneak peeks, favorite cards from our monthly post, pictures of the kit with a supply list where all of the papers, stamped images, die cuts, and embellishments can be found, and some bonus projects through the month made with our kit "leftovers" (always a TON of those)!

And to celebrate these fun additions, Christina is offering up a little blog candy this month!  SO leave a comment on our new blog HERE and she will draw the winner from the comments left on today's post!

Off to continue the party this month...

Waltzingmouse Stamps Pajama Party!

Tonight is the night for the first Waltzingmouse Stamps Pajama Party!

Tonight I am playing along with the Bedtime Story...a sketch challenge created for us especially by Claire.

Here it is...

And my card with it featuring the "You're a Doll" set just released at WMS in July...

I paper pieced my little dolls so that they would all match.  Have always loved this Simple Stories paper collection called "Fabulous" and have saved that blue gingham for just the right time!  Link your project to Claire's blog HERE.  You have one week to add your Bedtime Story project to the Mr. Linky set on Claire's blog.

Don't forget about the other events including "Tickle Me Silly" (your project with feathers), "You're a Doll (your project with dolls), and "In the Background" (your project with background stamping).  For these 3 pajama party events, you only have 24 hours to link your projects to Claire's blog.

Remember, you don't have to use Waltzingmouse Stamps to play along, but if you DO, you will be eligible to win a prize in a random drawing!  The biggest prize of all?  Claire and the DT members will be watching for a project with that extra special something and the creator will win a chance to be a guest designer for an upcoming release, yippee!

Supplies:
Stamps:  You're a Doll, Waltzingmouse Stamps
Paper:  Fabulous by Simple Stories, PTI Rustic Cream cardstock
Ink:  A Muse Studio Berry & Mermaid, Memento Espresso Truffle, PTI Simply Chartreuse
Other:  A Muse Studio Butterfly die, Martha Stewart baker's twine, Recollections rhinestones

Party!

Tonight is the night!  At 7:00 PM EST join Waltzingmouse Stamps for a Pajama Party!  Find all the details about it HERE on Claire's blog.  See you there!

Denim and Confetti Sketch

A last minute entry for Freshly Made Sketches!  I actually made the card last night and didn't have time to blog it until today!  This week's sketch is by Narelle Farrugia...

For stamp sets, got out two oldies but goodies, including Nordic Spring from Waltzingmouse Stamps.  I stamped the butterfly with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it in white. Sponged some Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick Distress ink inside the wings.  The little heart flowers are also heat embossed with white powder.

Loving the confetti look that I have seen so many people use on their cards lately, whether made with small paper punch scraps, sequins, or stamps.  I used 2 mini dots from Papertrey Ink's Polka Dot Basics to make mine...

Left off a sentiment for now.  Thinking this will be a good card to have on hand for a girly birthday party.

Thanks for stopping by...these "Freshly Made Sketches" are giving my stamping mojo a boost...it appears to be on summer vacation or something!

Back in the Game sketch

Long time no see!  I have had such a busy start of the summer, much busier than I thought I would be with work and being away on the weekends.  But finally got a chance to stamp today with the sketch of the week from Freshly Made Sketches.  This lovely one is from Linda Suarez!

I used the sweet new You're a Doll set (and a sentiment from You're a Doll-Additions).  Both are now available at Waltzingmouse Stamps...

Loved this paper from Pebbles "Walnut Grove" collection.  Thought it had a sweet folk art feel and stamped my doll to match it.  Paired it with some doily and woodgrain paper from Crate Paper's "Story Teller" collection.

I may be back later as I still have to meet the Challenge Chicks this month!  Never thought I would be late with a Christmas card in July...but that's our theme this month! :)

Stamps:  You're a Doll and You're a Doll Additions, Waltzingmouse Stamps
Paper:  Pebbles "Walnut Grove", Crate Paper "Story Teller",  PTI Rustic White and Vintage Cream
Ink:  A Muse Studio Mermaid & Cherry, Hero Arts Butter Bar, Stampin Up Real Red, Memento Espresso Truffle, Papertrey Ink Simply Chartreuse
