Wonderful Camellia Sketch

Could not let the stamping fun stop yet!  Had to play along with DT member Mona Pendleton's sketch this week at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog!

That flower made me think of the new Camellia set.

NOTE on Saturday, August 25th:  Claire is experiencing some difficulties with her manufacturer getting product to her as promised.  She is working very hard to make sure that these new release sets arrive at her store SOON!  Please stay tuned to her blog HERE for all of the latest news.

I tend not to buy many pink papers, but I discovered this My Mind's Eye Lost and Found "Blush" paper and loved the elegant feel.  I think this is starting to mean that I have one too many 6x6 pads (now really, could that even be possible? They really don't take up that much space :))

I stamped the Camellia in Fuchsia ink, cut out various different sections, and then layered them 4 times on dimensionals.  Traced the little shaded areas with a Sakura Stardust glitter pen.

Can't wait to see your creations with this pretty posie of a sketch!  Upload your creation HERE by next Friday, August 31st (I refuse to admit summer is over, just say it ain't SO)!!  Be sure to include at least one Waltzingmouse Stamps image on your project to be eligible to be the randomly-selected player who will win a WMS stamp set of choice!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Camellia, Waltzingmouse Stamps
Paper:  My Mind's Eye Lost and Found "Blush" collection, PTI Rustic Cream, Rustic White
Ink:  Memento Espresso Truffle, Fresh Ink in Fuschia, Sakura Stardust glitter pen
Other:  Spellbinders Labels 5 and Petite Ovals Nestabilities,  PTI kraft twill ribbon, rhinestones

Kelly - this is gorgeous! I just love the camelia flower with the glittler pen details! I love finding the 6x6 pads at Marshall's or TJ Maxx for $1.99 - then I don't feel so guilty having more - LOL!

Kelly, this is an amazing Camelia the way you layered it and enhanced it with the Sakura pen. The close-up pic was smart as it really shows all the detail and work you put into the stamping and layering. I was wondering about the damask print on the bg paper but it seems by some comments and your mentioning it was MME paper, it's just the pattern. It's a gorgeous choice with the whole theme, WOW! I'm with everyone else about the delay situation, poor Claire but she is such a kind heart and consumate prof. she'll rise quickly. "Paper, paper, paper, why do you call our names, show off your patterns and make us buy you when we haven't even dug into the last paper pads we purchased?!" Tee hee
