Jellyfish Wishes

It's World Card Making Day! So glad I got to make a birthday card for my great-nephew Owen. He was 12 this week, and we're celebrating my daughter's early 13th birthday with him today.

Owen loves all things nature and ocean, so my Salt Air collection from Papertrey Ink was perfect to use.

I did a little shaker card for him, with the jellyfish in his underwater scene getting the spotlight treatment 😊.

I stamped Text and Texture: Ocean in 2 shades of blue, then cut a circle out of it. Underneath is the jellyfish and scenery from Salt Air:Fauna, Salt Air: Flora, and a plant cut with the Reef Builder die set. Also used the Sand Swatch mini stamp set along the bottom. The sentiment is from Sentiment Staples: Birthday in 2 tones of ink. A clear acrylic sheet over the top with some glitter, sequins, and Wink of Stella pen details underneath the sea!

Fall Butterfly Throwdown

This week's colors at the Color Throwdown were tricky (the green was throwing me!), but had so much fun playing around!

I chose to use PTI's "Butterfly Blooms" and "Leaf Prints" sets to celebrate the change to fall.

The sentiment is from the Waltzingmouse set "Peace and Plenty." I used my Zig markers to watercolor the butterfly, then added Wink of Stella glitter pen and lots of Nuvo drops. Stamped the leaves in the colors of the week, then used Stampin Up's "Linen Background" over the top. Some sparkly sequins for a little glimmer of summer!

Papertrey Ink Stamp-A-Faire Challenge

This summer has just flown by without any time to stamp like I had originally thought!  But had to squeeze in one PTI Stamp-A-Faire Challenge. I chose Dawn's Planting Your Garden challenge to make a card with 8 colors, die cuts, and a stencil.

Got out her Farmer's Market Florals stamp set and dies, a sentiment from Kindness Counts, and the Sunburst Stencil Collection.

I chose shades of the rainbow: red, hot pink, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet, and then  a sentiment in black.

Added some details with Nuvo Drops and a Wink of Stella pen on the
 rays.
A bright, colorful card that made me think of Dawn herself! 😊

Die Cut Stencils

Playing along with Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday! This week Melissa Phillips challenged us to make a stencil out of a die cut negative. I used the snowy dots from Mix & Mat: Berries and Boughs to make a bubbly ocean scene.

I used Salt Air:Flora, fish from Salt Air:Fauna, Salt Air:Sentiments, and the Sand Swatch set stamped in blues and grey.

Colored in the stencil dots with ombre shades of Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

Last some Wink of Stella Pen to glitter up the scene, such a fun technique!

A card for Betsy's Ombre Watercolor Backgground technique for PTI's Make it Monday. Of course I had to use the Salt Air Flora & Fauna sets...

Papertrey Ink June Blog Hop

The ideas were flowing when I saw this delicious inspiration photo for Papertrey Ink's June Blog Hop!

My Salt Air products just arrived so I decided to make a rainbow underwater scene!

So many layers of ink and stamping! I started by sponging Tim Holtz Distress Inks for the background, then splattering on some water mixed with gold Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.

I added some Salt Air: Flora images stamped along the bottom, then heat embossed them with clear powder.

I die cut some fish using the Reef Builder dies, sponged them to match where I wanted them placed on my background, and added a sentiment from Salt Air: Sentiments.

I die cut Salt Air: Fauna, and sponged ombre colors onto the pieces before stamping the images so that I wouldn't have stark white edges. Once I started stamping, I used my MISTI so that I could layer different colors on the fauna images. Lastly, some Nuvo Drops in all of the colors... because I am a little obsessed, ha!

Thanks so much for hopping by!

Seahorse Throwdown

School's out, woo hoo! So happy when Papeetrey Ink's new Salt Air stamps arrived just in time for me to have, well...TIME! This week's Color Throwdown colors of peach, pale pink, hot pink, and green were perfect for an ocean scene...

I stamped and die cut the sweet seahorses from Salt Air:Fauna and added some Diamond Stickles...

Then, I made a background by sponging Tim Holtz Mowed Lawn Distress Ink, stamping some sea plant images from Salt Air: Flora in two shades of green, adding some light green Crystal Nuvo Drop bubbles, and stamping an adorable sentiment from Salt Air:Sentiments.

I have a feeling you are going to be seeing a lot more of these sets here in the future, they are amazing and so much fun to stamp! Thanks for swimming by...;)!
