I did something crazy...I made two 8x10 scrapbook pages! I have only made a mini 6x6 scrapbook on one other occasion for a Mother's Day project. So this is only my second attempt at scrapbooking and I have never had to make pages this big! I ended up placing them in a frame because I don't even own a book to clip them in, hee!
Both of these photos were taken on Father's Day, 2006. It was Jason's first Father's day with two daughters. Eva is a little over 2 in these photos, and Claire is 8 months old. I am not the best photographer, and we've never had the best camera, but I still love these pictures. What fun it was to create a scene around these photos...made me enjoy the day all over again. And the new sentiments from Man of the Hour fit perfectly!
This whole idea started with this photo of Eva. It's on our refrigerator so I see it every day. I love her precious little face and how Jason is looking on in the background...
Chose papers from Simple Stories (again!). The blue hexagon background gave me the idea to make a hexagon sunshine to match. I wanted yellow in the page to match Eva's shirt...is that how you are supposed to choose color schemes when scrapbooking? Lol! Told you I am a rookie!
The centerpiece of my sunshine is this adorable sentiment from Man of the Hour! Is it ever true in our house!
Another sweet sentiment from Man of the Hour under the photo. I also added the little date stamp from My Kind of Guy (also to be released tomorrow).
Up next is my sweet Claire! The idea for the background of this page came from Claire's little garden-embroidered hat in the photo.
Oh that smile on her face as she looks at Jason...melts MY heart!
A garden of hearts made with the stems from Pic-Nic Patterns, a sentiment from Man of the Hour, and little embellished heart die cuts.
A different kind of sunshine for this page made with a circle nestie and 2 cloud die cuts. I actually sliced off the bottoms so that they would be flat. All of the soft pastel papers on Claire's page are from Basic Grey's Fiction collection.
NOTE: Don't forget that today is the Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party! Claire will post a Mr. Linky set on her blog at 1:30 PM (EST) for you to join in the fun. The theme this month is Spring Flowers. I will be back later with a project.
TOMORROW is release day! We will be back with our traditional release day blog waltz at 2:00 PM (EST) and the 3 new stamp set will be available for purchase in the store!

The photos...
and how you created these wonderful treasures...
they have special place in your house now right?
Because they should!
These are too precious for words...
but I just love them! :)
Kelly, these photos are just precious! What lovely little ladies you have and what wonderful inspiration for your projects.
Two sweet pages of your girls with their dad Kelly! It's good you did frame them as it would be terrible to hide them in a scrapbook!!
These pages are so adorable. Your daughters are so cute. I had to laugh at the first sentiment. And the photograph just fits that sentiment so well with her dad in the background - it's like this photo is about me, Dad. BTW, thanks for encouraging me. I have some photos from 2006 that I have not gotten around to scrapping (but 2005 is all caught up) - hope is not lost. :)
Kelly these are going to be treasured for a very long time - they will be like looking at sunshine every day - beautiful!!!
Swoon! Your daughters are adorable and your layouts are amazing - especially as it's only your second go! I have never scrapbooked before but if anything was going to make me try it - it's your lovely pages!
