Terrarium Sketch

They are celebrating 400 Sketches this month at Freshly Made Sketches!  This week, a look back at Sketch 300...

I chose The Greetery's Terrarium Small die and BotaniCuts Succulents dies for my sketch card...

I brushed Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks in shades of blue-green (Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, and Mermaid Lagoon)  over a Hero Arts stencil, going darker over where the rectangular portion of the sketch would be.

Shaded the small succulent from the set with a waterbrush and Zig Clear Color markers. Added some Nuvo Glitter Paste in Moonglow to the tips. Stamped a sentiment from The Greetery's Simple Things set and die cut the main portion.

The fun hanger is cut with The Greetery's BotaniCuts Bamboo die, and also shaded with the Zig markers and waterbrush.

Congratulations to Freshly Made Sketches on their 400 amazing sketches! Here's to 400 more, as they are so much fun to create with each week! ❤

Succulent Throwdown

As soon as I saw the Color Throwdown colors of purple, blue, turquoise, and yellow...succulents came to mind! I used The Greetery's BotaniCuts Succulents dies and Simple Things stamp set for my card.

Sponged Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks on the large succulent using Milled Lavender, Scattered Straw, and Seedless Preserves, then Peacock Feathers, Shaded Lilac, and Salty Ocean on the small one.

Brushed some Scattered Straw in a circle, then stamped stems from Simple things in Salty Ocean and Scattered Straw for the background. Added the sentiment and a few tiny aqua colored Nuvo Drop accents. The border was cut with the Crimped Frames die, also from The Greetery. These succulents are so realistic and detailed, but easy and FUN to make ❤!

Color Throwdown Guest Star Stamper

I am thrilled to be this week's Guest Star Stamper at the Color Throwdown! The inspiration piece is so beautiful, and features lovely pastels...green, yellow, pink, and lavender!

I chose The Stamp Market's "Petite Painted Posies" stamps and dies, and Ink to Paper's "Tag Creations: Joyful Jar" die for my card...

Stamped "Barnwood" from Stampin' Up and cut a frame from the center. Stamped a smaller floral cluster from "Petite Painted Posies" and heat embossed with white powder.

Added a sentiment from Ink to Paper's "Tag Creations: Lemon" stamp set to the inside of the jar, and made it into a shaker. Cut the outside of the frame with The Greetery's "Crimped Frame" die.

Lately, a card isn't complete unless I add a smattering of Nuvo Drops! This time I added some white ones 😊.

Thanks SO much to the lovely ladies at The Color Throwdown for having me guest with them.  And for their 555 (!)  blog posts bursting with colorful inspiration! 💕
