Stamp-A-Faire: Felt Cookies

Project #3 is for Debbie Olson's "Stitched Felt Cookies" for Anniversary Year #7 Traditional Gift of "Wool."

I "may" have skipped the stitched part, due to my poor sewing skills, and went straight for the glue!

I used circles and scalloped circles to make a chocolate chip, Oreo, and sugar cookie.  I used dies from the "Shakers and Sprinkles" Make it Market kit to make my sprinkles!  The cookies are layered and adhered with felt glue.  These cookies will be perfect for my great niece Reegan to have a tea party with her American Girl doll!

I enclosed them in a glassine bag, and made a shaker tag with images, sprinkles, and other dies from the "Shakers and Sprinkles" kit!  I thought Debbie's sweet cookies were perfection!

Stamp-a-Faire: Faux Leather Embossing

On to Challenge for Anniversary Year #3 featuring Nichole with the technique faux leather embossing!

I chose to use Cutaway Tags: Spring as it reminded me of a fancy Western belt buckle :)!

I had some beautiful tan tissue paper that I saved from my one Anthropolgie purchase and used that for my overlays.  I sponged over the top with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I wanted a long narrow sentiment so I found "Blessings" from First Fruits (which sounded Southern and a little like "Bless Your Heart" to me)!  Embossed it on some denim patterned paper, and cut some more flowers from Cutaway Tags: Spring in Rustic White and Scarlet Jewel.  Added a little twine and of course, some "turquoise" to the mix!  This technique was so much fun to learn!

PTI's Stamp-A-Faire Warm Up Challenge!

Papertrey Ink is hosting Stamp-A-Faire and the challenges are all about celebrating their 10th Anniversary, using traditional wedding anniversary gifts as the theme.

For the Take 10 Warm-up Challenge, we were given 10 minutes to plan a card based on one of the 10 inspiration photos, 10 minutes to gather supplies, and 10 minutes to create the card.  I kind of create and gather supplies as I go, so I lumped that into 20 minutes :)!

I chose this photo of sweet craft items by Nana Company!

I thought it was a perfect opportunity to get out some of my old favorites, Everyday Button Bits and Button Boutique!

I used elements from each of the sample items, but most closely followed the one on the top left with the button card.  I loved the berries on the bottom left, so used cherries from Everyday Button Bits.  The little flowers are stamped using images from the "County Fair" Make It Market Kit.

Clear embossed the cherry stem and leaves, and added a little layered butterfly cut from PTI's Linen Vellum.  Can't wait to see what challenges come next!

Color Throwdown Guest Star Stamper!

I am absolutely THRILLED to be the Guest Star Stamper at the Color Throwdown this week!  Lucky me, I got the sweetest photo to be inspired by, with some fresh summer colors!

Green, kraft, and white, yippee!

I combed my stamps for a sweet puppy image, and found the perfect one in Papertrey Ink's "Pedal Pusher" set.

An extra bonus that this puppy is having some summer fun, just like in the photo!

I added detail by stamping each piece of the bike in a color ink.  I then used my MISTI and added Versamark over the top so I could clear emboss.  This puppy needed a shiny new bike for his adventure!

Thanks so much to the Color Throwdown team for inviting me!  I am always inspired by their color combinations and gorgeous projects!  Happy August 1st!  Hope you enjoy the rest of the summer!  :)

Santa Slider

This week at Papertrey Ink, Lizzie Jones had a real challenge for us...to make a color slider card.  I have seen these magical wonders before, but had never tried one until watching Lizzie's awesome video tutorial here.  It was still a bit tricky (even though Lizzie made it look SO EASY! :), but I am glad I persevered!

Lizzie reminded us that these are great cards for kids...and that got me thinking about the most magical guy of all...Santa!

Here is one of my favorite Santa images of all time from PTI's "Believe" set.  The black and white patterned paper has verses from the "Twelve Days of Christmas" on it, and I thought it would make the sudden color pop even more surprising.

I made the slider tab with the Pocket Card die, and just partially cut it with my Cuttlebug so that I would have the fun tab at the top. I covered the hole with a circle and star.   I thought adding those glossy "Macy's" stars and the sentiment "Believe" would be perfect for a card that inspires wonder :).

It was fun to color with my Copics, I haven't done that in awhile!  Thanks so much to Lizzie for the challenge, it was fun celebrating Christmas in July :)!
