Shining Star!

I am playing along with the Just Add Ink Challenge for the first time, and I love this color scheme…red, green, and gold for the holidays!

I am obsessed with The Greetery’s “ Rustic Star Large” dies (and the small version, too)!

I have been spritzing and spraying with Tim Holtz/Ranger Ink’s “Distress Mica Stain” and using metallic papers with them, too. I also added a background made with The Greetery’s “Herringbone Parquet” die cut with the “Wintry Mix” snowflake dies, “BotaniCuts: Pine Bough,” berries cut with the “Winter Medley” set, and a sentiment embossed in gold from “Digit Sentiments.”

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Christmas in the City Throwdown

Hi everyone! It’s my turn to be the hostess at the Color Throwdown Challenge ! We are taking a trip to the city to see the spectacular tree-lighting! The colors are a wintery evening's blue, aqua, and gold.

I made a wreath to match the beautiful tree…

I used Sizzix’s “Yuletide” dies by Tim Holtz with all of the bright royal blues and aquas, and a shimmering gold bow. The background is made with The Greetery’s “Twinkle Background” die, and a sentiment from “Bright & Bubbly” embossed with Hero Arts “Iridescent Gold” powder.

We can’t wait to see what you make this week! Upload your creation at the Color Throwdown blog for a chance to be a randomly-selected Guest Designer at an upcoming challenge!

Inspired by…Rustic Holiday Decor!

There is a lovely inspiration photo at the Inspired by Challenge this week…

I was inspired by the pinecones, chalkboard, greenery, wood…

I used The Greetery’s new “BotaniCuts: Pinecones,” “BotaniCuts: Juniper,” and “Rustic Star: Small.” The sentiment is from a wonderful older set from Papertrey Ink called “Pen & Ink Christmas!”

Thanks for stopping by! ❤️

Winterberry Throwdown

This week at the Color Throwdown, Amy Rysavy chose soft colors that remind me of visions of sugar plums and gumdrops, but the prettiest winter bouquets, too…blue, peach, and green…

I used The Greetery’s “Winterberry Bouquet” for my card…

Added a background made with the “Square Dance” stencils, some glittered “BotaniCuts: Juniper” branches and a sentiment from “Bright & Bubbly.”

Now it’s your turn to create with this lovely color scheme. Upload your creation for a chance to be a randomly-selected guest designer at an upcoming challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by!

I Saw…Cookies!

I am so happy to get a chance to play along with the As You See It Challenge this week! The theme is Christmas and I was inspired by their lovely photo…

I created  a little baking scene with “Bake it Merry” from The Greetery!

I made a background with my favorite stencils called “Square Dance,” then added some Sizzix by Tim Holtz “Festive Gatherings” die cut greenery all around.

Come play along with this fun challenge! It always inspires me!

Holiday Blocks Throwdown

This week at the Color Throwdown, Wanda picked a really cool color scheme…dark green, yellow green, black, and white!

I chose to to use some primitive images with a modern twist with Sizzix dies by Tim Holtz called “Holiday Blocks.”

I cut out all of the pieces in each color and then just started moving them around on an A2 base like a puzzle. It was so fun! I wanted to add embellishments but nothing seemed quite right. I love how it kind of looks like a poster! The sentiment is from an older Amuse Studio set called “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

Now it’s your turn! Upload your creation at the Color Throwdown blog for a chance to be a randomly-selected guest designer at an upcoming challenge.  We can’t wait to see what you make!

Pink Tree Throwdown

This week at the Color Throwdown Vickie chose some lovely fresh and modern colors…pink, green, and gray!

Of course, I’m already thinking Christmas! Out came the new Sizzix ‘Trim a Tree” from Tim Holtz!

I did a little switcheroo with my colors, and decorated my pink tree with The Greetery’s “Popcorn Garland” and made a light green background with the “Pine & Berry Backgtound” stamp! The sentiment from “Bright & Bubbly” is all glitzed up with Wow’s “Metallic Silver Sparkle” embossing powder. This tree is very Dr. Seuss to me 😂!

Santa Throwdown

The beautiful fall colors from Lynn’s inspiration photo at the Color Throwdown Challenge took a turn …and somehow had me thinking about Christmas…yellow gold, red, brown, and kraft!

I used Tim Holtz’s Sizzix new “Santa Greetings Colorize” dies!

I made a woodgrain background with inked kraft paper, an old snowflake background embossed in white, paint streaks and splatters, and The Greetery’s “Herringbone Parquet” die.

All Wrapped Up Spanner Throwdown

This week at the Color Throwdown, Lori gave us some lovely colors to wrk with…green, rust, pink and yellow!

I recently learned about a fun card design called a “spanner.” It’s like a 3-layer card made from an A2 size. I added all kinds of products from The Greetery including “All Wrapped Up”…

The card front is shaped like an H with a piece that spans across the middle. You lift this piece to reveal a surprise, and the center part folds up to reveal the card back with sentiment! So much fun!

I also used the “Tartan Plaid Diagonal” stencils, a polka dot embossing folder, and retired “Polka Dot Basics” stamp set from Papertrey Ink!

Inspired By Ghosts!

Playing along this week at the Inspired By Challenge! Just look at this adorable Halloween decor…

I just had to use my Stamper’s Anonymous Halloween “Mini Stencil Set 56”  with Ranger Ink’s Distress Grit Paste in “Glow” but how?!….

Hahaha! I didn’t have ghost images or dies big enough for these spooky eyes, but the Papertrey Ink “Bright Night” set was perfect for making glowing lanterns! I embossed them with white powder on black cardstock so they would be ghostly! So if you run out of candles (or batteries) on Halloween night, capture a glowing-eyed monster or critter to light up the path as you Trick or Treat! 👻

I chose a cozy cabin scene, inspired by the tiny cabin in the photo!

I used the “S’More Holiday” set from The Greetery and “Perfect Plaid” from The Stamp Market! I also used a woven rope embossing folder from Stampin’ Up on the side  for some reason, it made me think of a cozy sleeping bag!

Embroidered Throwdown

Some brights this week at the Color Throwdown this week…pink, magenta, green, and white!

I made a little embroidery-inspired get well card using products from The Greetery…

I used The Greetery’s “Floral Sampler,” “Hoopla Mini” and “Hoopla Mini Insert” dies, “Notionable” dies, and the “Aida Cloth Texture Plate.” The sentiment is from vintage Papertrey Ink’s “Quilted Sampler.” It’s so much fun combining these products to make charming little scenes 💕.

The “Happy Halloween “ sentiment is from PTI’s Haunted House” set. Lots of glittery paper and spray added all around, too!

Don’t ask me how I thought of a pencil?!

But, it will be perfect to send to my daughter who moved in at college today for the first time! I used Papertrey Ink’s vintage pencil shaker maker (haha), the “Notebook Backgrounder” (another vintage stamp, from Cornish Heritage Farms), and a sentiment from The Stamp Market!

This week at the Color Throwdown , Susie is our hostess with a fresh and summery set of colors…red, yellow, green, and white!

I chose The Greetery’s “Oopsy Daisy” to plant around my Papertrey Ink “Picket Fence” die!

I embossed the fence with Stampin Up’s Woodgrain 3D embossing folder and added some Echo Park plaid paper for the background. The sentiment banner is made with The Greetery’s “Tear Strip Tags” coordinating sentiment and die set.

Tackle Box Throwdown

I love the colors chosen by Amy Rohl for the Color Throwdown challenge this week…kraft, white, and green!

I decided that these colors would be perfect for a more masculine card, and used the amazing “Gone Fishing” stamps and dies from Stampin’ Up!

My Echo Park “Call of the Wild” 6X6 paper pad had some awesome fishing-themed papers, as well as colors perfect for this challenge. There is also one square embossed with Stampin Up’s “Twisted Rope” Stampin’ Cut & Emboss 3D folder…the texture is amazing. Shhh, I snuck about two inches of my husband’s fishing line that I found in a drawer! It must be “old” and unloved if it’s in the house (and not his tackle box), right?! 😂

I took these colors to the pool with Papertrey Ink’s “Floating By” stamps and dies!

I also used Papertrey Ink’s “Pool Water” stencils to make the background by inking over the top with aqua inks, then spraying some aqua glimmer mist over the top. Some fun bubble embellishments and lovely flowers and leaves from The Stamp Market’s “Tropical Vibes” set to complete my sunny party!

It’s my turn this week to host The Color Throwdown! A mix of brights and vintage reminiscent of a garden party…fuschia, green, gray, and terracotta!

I used The Greetery’s “Print Shop: Floral Frame” stamps, stencil, and dies for my card…

I stenciled and stamped the floral border, then filled my Papertrey Ink “Vase #7” with matching flowers! I love how the bits of terracotta (Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide Ink) really make the fuschia flowers POP!
