PTI March Blog Hop

This month's theme for PTI's Blog Hop was to be inspired by this amazing photo from Country Living!  If I had a kitchen like that, I would NEVER leave it (and I don't even like cooking very much).  Yellow is my favorite color, and with aqua...it just sings!

I decided to make a spring card, and to use the confetti stamping technique since I didn't get to play along with Lizzie's MIM challenge last week...

I used the Scene It: Everyday die for the trees, and confetti stamped on them with the two smallest dots from Polka Dots Basics.  It is layered on top of the Scene It:  Basic Backer die. The sentiment is from Take Three: Spring.  The trees reminded me of the overlapping lanterns in the photo.

Added a bunny and some mini flowers that reminded me of the wallpaper, cut with Memory Box dies.  The sketch is "kinda" like that big ole beautiful cabinet in the background.

I love PTI inspiration photo blog hops!  Can't wait to see the gallery!

Watercolor Rainbow Sketch

Yay, a card for Freshly Made Sketches!  When I saw this sketch by Karren Johnson, my wheels started turning.  I have PTI's new "Blue Skies," and had to put it to use with some other stamp sets that needed sunlight to shine upon them.  They've been tucked away for the majority of the time since before Christmas!

Here is Karren's sketch...

And my card...

Nothing like stamping a rainbow to put you in a good mood!  I stamped it using PTI's "Watercolor Wonder", then added a sunshine and raindrops from Lawn Fawn's "Hello Sunshine" set.

The clouds and sentiment are from "Blue Skies."  I heat embossed the clouds with white powder on die cut vellum.  Also, the white cardstock for the base and border strip were "jazzed up" by embossing them with the Canvas side of PTI's "Linen and Canvas" Impression Plate.

See what 40-45 degree days do to my psyche?  Hope it's sunny near you!  Thanks for stopping by today :)

Easter Church Tag

I finally got to play along with a Tag You're It Challenge!  It's been awhile, but I was inspired by this unique and springy sample by winning designer, Gayatri Murali!

I used my brand new PTI Petite Places: Church die set.  It's been sitting on my desk just waiting for me to get my first chance!

I cut 3 churches from PTI white cardstock and glued them together, then added one cut from PTI's new white linen cardstock for the top church.

I wanted to do a layered look like on Gayatri's card, so I cut the church from the middle of the tag, and backed it with Sweet Blush cardstock.  When I adhered the church, I just moved it a bit lower so that some of the pink edge would show around the steeple.  I added a mini die cut heart (it's the heart inside the "Love Lives Here" butterfly die :))  I loved Laura's little white church from the February festivities here.

I stamped a flower from the Loves Lives Here set, and leaves and dots from Green Thumb and Polka Dot Basic.  The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps "Spring Baskets" set.The little hills are cut with Lawn Fawn's "Stitched Hills" dies, and the flowers are bedazzled with Stickles and mini pearls.

So much fun! Thanks to the design team and guest Gayatri for your beautiful samples to inspire us this week!

Sunshine and Sprinkles

I wanted to play around with my new "Blue Skies" set from Papertrey Ink's anniversary release. Such a fun set with endless combinations for any occasion!

I'm up to my third shaker now...

I used one of my favorite paper pads, Echo Park's "Splendid Sunshine"...bet you can see why!  AND yellow just happens to be my favorite color, so I double love this card.

I have hoarded the rainbow sprinkles since I got the original Shakers & Sprinkles kit.  My daughter Claire always asks me..."When are you going to even USE these?" as she holds the little beaker and shakes them around, and  I "GULP" because I'm secretly scared she'll spill them and then I'll have an adult temper tantrum!

I made my shaker using circle Nesties and clear cardstock.  I ended up stacking it 4 layers high because I made a bit of a mistake while layering!  The hardest part while making this card...waiting for the Glossy Accents to dry on the cherry.  I wrecked three before letting it dry overnight!

PS...the only thing kind of sprinkles in our forecast, MORE snow.  3-5 inches before it warms up to maybe 30-40 degrees this week for two days.  People will seriously bust out their shorts, I guarantee!
