Just for Fun

I started this card for a sketch challenge, but it took so long that it ended up being just for fun! The birthday stamp is a wooden block stamp from Hampton Art, the flowers are "Fresh Cut Florals" from WPlus9, and the banners and hearts are cut with a Mama Elephant die!

September with the Challenge Chicks

This month with the Challenge Chicks, Jeanne Streiff's challenge is called "Splat"... to use watercolor or ink splats on on our design!

I did a little of both using the "Ink Splats" stamp set from WPlus9 and Artful Flowers from Simon Says Stamps.

I first made the flowers by using the 2-step stamps and spritzing them with water after they were inked.  I also did the "rocking and rolling" technique at the end, adding a darker color on the edge of the solid stamp, spritzing it while on the block again, the stamping over the top of my first flower image.

I put coordinating lighter colored splats on the linen cardstock from PTI and then arranged the flowers that matched over the top of each coordinating "splat."

Now it's your turn to play along!  Can't wait to see what you make featuring "Splats"!

Never-ending card

I started this card on our trip to NJ last month for the 200th sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, but never had a chance to finish it!  So I tweaked it a little more, and decided to post it anyway since the ole blog must be getting rusty!

Used Papertrey Ink's Petite Pots and some dies from Mama Elephant.

And some popped up flower and mini sequins!

Circle of Friendship

A long overdue Challenge Chicks post!  This month, Diane chose our theme, and she picked "Circle of Friendship"...to make a card with circles, about friends, or both.  I chose both :)!

The circular flowers are from Wplus9 Studio's "Doodle Buds" set, and the background confetti dots are from Papertrey Ink's "Good Times" set.

The sentiment is from Verve's "Text Objects" set.  I like how it had both "sunny" and "around" in it, perfect for the theme!  I added some Wink of Stella glitter pen and Diamond Stickles on some of the dots, as well as some mini orange flower sequins from the PTI Shakers and Sprinkles kit.

Pink Flower Sketch

Another cool sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!

I used a lovely flower image from Simon Says Stamps "Artful Flowers"...

The dotted middle panel was stamped with Papertrey Ink's confetti image in the "Good Times" set. The stitched rectangles and the "thank you" sentiment are cut with dies from Simon Says Stamp, too.

A white card with splashes of summer :).

WPlus9 is having their second sketch challenge and Joni created this lovely sketch...

I chose to use flowers from Fresh Cut Florals and More Fresh Cuts, along with Ink Splats...

The sentiment is from Doodle Buds.  I added some Wink of Stella pen on the splotches and flowers, and some little rhinestone centers.  Such a perfect sketch for a splash of flowers!

Edited to add!  The ink colors are:
Amuse Studio:  Poppy, Apple, Melon, Marigold
Fresh Ink:  Red Currant, Melon, Chamomille, Celery
Hero Arts:  Butter Bar

Make it Monday...Happy Camper

Danielle Flanders hosted this week's Make It Monday at Papertrey Ink, and her card featured a cute open window bringing the inside of the card to the outside.

Thought it would be a perfect time to use my new Petite Places: Camper set.  Bringing the outside to the outside?!

I have had the "Lakeside" papers from Pebbles for so long and they have such cute plaids and camping themes.  Also used the new Scene It dies for the mountains and trees.  The left side of the card is this cool wood tape that I keep in a safe spot because I don't want to overuse it ;)!

I colored my banner with Copics...may use this for an upcoming graduation party for our neighbor's son!
