Tea Time Sketch!

Time for another sketch at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog.  Here is #45:

Claire wanted so see a tassel or other "dangling bit" this week (hee) !  Here is my interpretation:



I used the Tea Bag Baggie Template that can be found in the "Freebie" section of the Watlzingmouse Stamps shop!  Claire's templates are so wonderful and so easy to make!  Just print, cut, and fold...they always look so professional when finished!

I stamped the label image from the Afternoon Tea stamp set in Versamark ink, and then heat embossed it with black embossing powder.  The paper and black satin ribbon are from A Muse Studio.

My "dangly bit" was the tea bag string with a special tag covering the "Lipton" one, using another image from the Afternoon Tea stamp set!

For the Boys!

For today's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop, to make a masculine card or project!  I find these so challenging, but I was inspired by Betsy Veldman's card seen HERE and decided to try a "Vintage Bug" card of my own!

Sorry for the terrible lighting, but this is a late entry!  I inked the solid car image in the Enjoy the Ride set, and then kissed the stamp to some of my old woodblock background stamps.  Then I stamped the car outline over the top.  I distressed the card heavily with Tim Holtz Distress inks in Antique Linen and Tea Dye, with some Vintage Photo ink around the edge.  Then I inked up my Cornish Heritage Farms Weave Backgrounder with Vintage Cream ink, and stamped it over the top of the whole finished piece.  The car piece is up on dimensionals and slightly overlaps the bottom pieces.  Ran the Smokey Shadow sentiment strip through  my Cuttlebug with the Linen Impression plate side.  The bottom is kraft cardstock with the Woodgrain Impression plate and Tea Dye ink.

While I am not quite happy with the placement of my cars, I love the whole idea and will definitely try this idea again. Thanks Betsy for the inspiration to try this out!

Rosy Sketch

Claire Brennan has drawn up a lovely sketch for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog this week, and it includes embossing!  Here is Sketch #44:

 I decided to do some heat embossing on my sample:

I inked up the lace panel from Faux Fun in Versamark ink, stamped it on glossy paper, and then heat embossed it with white powder.  Stamped the rose from Roses in Bloom multiple times, sponged the pieces with ink, and then paper-pieced the rose back together using dimensionals for the layers.  Sentiment is also from Roses in Bloom.

Here is a close up of the lacy piece!  I love this image, it looks so authentic!!

Easter Waltz

It's time for another Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz!  The theme this month is Easter! 

We have to play a little game first...it's called, "Can you spot the Easter Imposter?"...

I don't have my WMS Easter images from Spring Baskets (coming soon!), so I had to improvise with the Bountiful Baskets Additions set!  I found this pink and yellow, glittery, floral paper from DCWV that I received as a prize from Anna Wight, and it inspired me to turn the poinsettia into a spring flower!  The poinsettia is stamped on pink gingham paper from A Muse Studio, and then paper-pieced in the center.  Added some glittered up flowers in the background using PTI's smallest scalloped button die, and also added a mini tag die and sentiment from PTI.

 I can't wait to see all of the lovely spring and Easter creations, we've been waiting for this season for what seems like forever!

Sunny Sketch

Happy Saturday!  That means it's time for another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!  Here is #43!

And here is my sunny interpretation:

Used the thin plaid strip from Pic-Nic Patterns for the background, and also to make a little patch of grass under the treeline.  The "sunshine", trees, birdies, and sentiment are from Teeny Trees .  The sun rays are made with Divine Twine, and the apples are cranberry pearls from A Muse Studio. Cardstock in Vintage Cream and Lemon Tart by Papertrey Ink.

There is Mischief to be Made!

It's true!  I received a wonderful email a little while ago, asking ME to be a Mischief Maker for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog!  I could hardly believe my luck, and am so thrilled to be a part of this group of talented ladies! 

I have always been such a fan of everything Waltzingmouse Stamps and love waking up each Saturday to see the new sketch that Claire Brennan has posted!  Speaking of sketches, here is this week's sketch:

Since today is a new beginning for me, I thought I would start back at the beginning!  The very first stamp set that I ordered from Waltzingmouse Stamps was Earth Angel.  I was playing in a challenge at Splitcoaststampers and saw the sweetest card made with the set by Lynn Mercurio!  I just had to have it, and was immediatetly hooked on Waltzingmouse Stamps after it arrived.

For this card I sponged the sky with Distress inks, and hand cut the banner.  I paper-pieced the angel, and used Papertrey Ink's Vineyard Impression Plate to fancy up her dress.  Then I stamped her wings separately and glittered them up.  I am pretty sure that there are 32 dimensionals on this card...this angel is ready to fly!  The sentiment and wand (really a heart and part of the jump rope!) are also images included in Earth Angel.  The bottom of the card is made with WMS Pic-Nic Patterns, dotted in the center with some white opal Liquid Pearls.

Sewing Box Set

Here's a little card set made for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge this week...#40!  Here is the sketch.  Make that a triple!

I decided to make a set of tags using WMS Sewing Box Hugs images.  You can never have too many tags, right?!   I also used Very Vintage Labels One with the coordinating Labels One dies from Spellbinders, and the floral background from Pic-Nic Patterns.  Paper-pieced the layers, and popped them up on dimensionals.

Up first is a little housewarming tag with some gingham paper by A Muse Studio:
