Clever Sausage

This week at the Library Challenge is this awesome book cover..

I chose to use the saucy “ Clever Sausage” set by Julie Ebersole for Ellen Hutson LLC.

.

A little coloring with Zig Clean Color Markers and a waterbrush, a paper-pieced striped outfit using a mini background from Waltzingmouse Stamps, ink blending for the sky, and a tiny pom pom for his hat. The images in this set are so fun and sweet...the cards practically make themselves!

Thanks for stopping by!

Polka Dot Charm

This week at the Inspired By Challenge is this charming little room entitled “ Night Night”...

I chose The Stamp Market’s “Floral Fun Card Cover” die paired with some old favorite supplies for my card...

I hate jigsaw puzzles, but adding die cut pieces back into a cover plate is more my kind of crafty thing! I stamped a piece of cardstock with patterns from Waltzingmouse Stamps “Gingham & Company” then cut the flowers from those. Used the Swiss Dot embossing folder from ProvoCraft for the inlaid pieces, then placed those in last. The sentiment is from The Stamp Market’s “You” set. I love this color combination, so charming and country chic! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Messy Monkey Sketch

A fun sketch by Jacquie at Freshly Made Sketches that has endless possibilities!

I used Reverse Confetti’s adorable new “Crafty Critters” stamps and Confetti Cuts for my card...

I colored this funny monkey and his crafty supplies with Zig Clean Color and Tombow markers and a wet paintbrush. The splatters were made with stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps and WPlus9 Studio that I had in my stash.

Added some white Nuvo Drop “glue” and some Sakura Stardust pen accents, and  Stickles here and there, because really...what monkey would leave out glitter when crafting?! Such a fun card to make this snowy Monday. Thanks for stopping by!

25 Days of Christmas Tags- Day 24

Day 24 of Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags featured design by Heffy Doodle! I was inspired by Cassie Tezak's sweet pastel scene featuring Santa's Workshop with a pink and white awning!

I made another North Pole village stop...Mrs. Claus' Sweet Shoppe, with Papertrey Ink's Petite Places: Sweet Shoppe...

I used a snow stencil from KaiserCraft with white texture paste over a background sponged with Distress Oxide Inks. Stamped a sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

Used Petite Places: Sweet Shoppe stamps and dies and PTI's Tinsel & Tags kit stamps and dies for my little shoppe tucked in the snowy hills of the North Pole!

25 Days of Christmas. Tags- Day 20

Day 20 at Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags brought fun inspiration from A Jillian Vance Design. For the first time, I combined ideas from two designers to make my tag...Jillian Vance and
Bunny Vance! I love Jullian's buffalo plaid and greenery, and Bunny's fun baked confection tag with a sweet greeting!

I used Papertrey Ink's Christmas Tree Shaker and Holly Jolly dies. I linked the plaid with the Honey Bee Stamps plaid stencil and Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks. The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

I filled the shaker with the coolest "Polka Parade" rainbow sprinkles from Little Things from Lucy's Cards. Added some Nuvo Drops and baker's twine, and this yummy pastel treat tag is ready!

25 Days of Christmas Tags- Day 25

Day 25 at Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags brought designs from Honey Bee Stamps.I loved Bobbi Lemanski's winter foliage tags so much that I made two...one inspired by her pine cone tag and the other by her greenery tag.

I loved Bobbi's black woodgrain background, so I made mine with Stampin Up's 3D Woodgrain embossing folder, brushed with white ink. The pine cone and bough were made with The Greetery's new "BotaniCuts Pine Bough" die set. The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

The second tag is made with The Greetery's "Winter Sketches" pine bough and the older Gingham Backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms. The sentiment is from The Greetery's "Christmas Eve" set. One of my favorite things I learned from Bobbi's blog is that she colored a stamped woodgrain background from Honey Bee Stamps with Copic markers! I had never done that before, so I stamped a Hero Arts background with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with brown Copics. I love how it looks!

25 Days of Christmas Tags- Day 9

Playing some catch up for Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags, going way back to Day 9 with Pink & Main. I loved Annette Allan's sweet, funny little animals all dressed for winter...especially the bear!

I just got Reverse Confetti's "Big Bear" set, and thought he would be perfect!

I colored with Zig Clean Color and Tombow markers and a wet paintbrush. Added the hat from Reverse Confetti's "S'more Love" set. I used the Ink Blot Shop's "Cable Knit Background" and shaded it with Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, and Crushed Olive Distress Oxide inks. The snowflakes are heat embossed over the top with white powder and the sentiment is from PTI's "Warm & Fuzzy." I love how this turned out, thanks for the inspiration, Annette!

25 Days of Christmas. Tags- Day 19

Day 19 at Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags brought adorable, whimsical designs from Paper Smooches! Who could resist that Santa tag by Teri Anderson?!

I used a sweet Santa from My Favorite Things and the Gingham Backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms. The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps, and the impressed hills are made with a die from The Greetery.

I colored the Santa with Zig Clear Color Markers and a wet paintbrush, then a lot of clear Wink of Stella pen. Added dots with a white gel pen for highlights, then added white Nuvo Drops to his hat and beard. So fun!

Adding this to my set for Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge at The Daily Marker!

25 Days of Christmas Tags- Day 12

On Day 12, Tracey took us on an exploration with Stamplorations! Being a lover of all things gingham, my eye went straight to Kim Heggins adorable gingham-topped reindeer tag!

I used the deer from "Folk Art Christmas Additions"and a sentiment from"Vintage Christmas," both from Waltzingmouse Stamps, and the "Gingham Backgrounder" from Cornish Heritage Farms.

I stamped the deer in VersaFine black ink then colored the folk pattern using Nuvo Drops in Autumn Red, Bottle Green, and Simply White. Added a little piece of wire with two jingle bells, and this tag is ready to go!

25 Days of Christmas Tags- Day 8

Day 8 of Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags brought sweet inspiration from Picket Fence Studios. I thought Ceal Pritchett's snowman tag with the kraft background, wooden tree rings, and snowflakes was so cute!

I used Papertrey Ink's "Fenceline Winter" snow scene elements, then added a woodgrain heart and sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps. I stamped over the top with an old favorite called "Filagree Snowflake Background" from Peddler's Pack. I also added snow. With Nuvo Drops and followed Sandy Allnock's advice to put it all over the scene and not just in the sky! 😅

25 Days of Christmas Tags- Day 11

Tracey featured Studio Katia on Day 11 of her 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I loved Laura Volpes sweet bear peeking over the pile of presents and her amazing coloring!

I thought of an idea to match using Avery Elle's "Peek-a-Boo Pets" and a basket and sentiment I had from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

I colored my images with Zig Clean Color Markers and a paint brush. I love how Avery Elle's little pets come with paws that you can stamp separately and place wherever you like!

Adding this to Kathy Racoosin's 30 Day Coloring Challenge at the Daily Marker. I have been working on using a more cohesive color scheme, with less color choices, when watercoloring little scenes...and it really does make a difference!  🙂

Gnome Throwdown

This week at the Color Throwdown was a unique color combination to play with...orange, gray, and cream!

Those funny pumpkin faces made me think of another funny face...on the Gnomes Stencil from Simon Says Stamp!

I inked the gnome with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks using a combination of Carved Pumpkin, Wild Honey, Dried Marigold, Weathered Wood, and Hickory Smoke. The fun forest background is also
a stencil called "Into the Woods" from Hero Arts. I inked it with the same combination of inks.

I added white whisker details with a gel pen and some Wink of Stella pen. There are mini cream colored stars and "Diamond" Stickles. His nose has Glossy Accents and there are tiny Nuvo Drops on his robe and in the forest background. I added one teeny heart to match the sentiment.

The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps' "Compact Sentiments." I thought it was perfect since his face smile is invisible, ha! Thanks for stopping by!

Bewitched Sketch

This week at Freshly Made Sketches is this fun one by Lee Ann!

I chose to make a spooky card with the Waltzingmouse Stamps classic set "Halloween Party!"

First, I stamped "bewitched"in gray ink on white cardstock using Concord & 9th's "Sophisticated Script" stamp set. Then I inked a background over it with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, and Black Soot. I left a circular spot for the glowing cauldron and added Barn Door, Ripe Persimmon, and Squeezed Lemonade.

I stamped the witch and cauldron with VersaFine Black and heat embossed with clear powder. Added lots of starbursts and her magical spell bolt from the set and heat embossed with gold detail powder. The mini "Time to Fly" sentiment is also gold embossed and is from the WMS set "Gracie at Halloween."

I traced over "Bewitched" with a Sakura Stardust gel pen.

Some Diamond Stickles stars in the sky, which take on a fun greenish gold twinkle over the background inks. Lots of coordinating Nuvo Drop potion bubbles for a finishing touch...Happy Halloween!

To the Moon Sketch

At Freshly Made Sketches, Linda has a great sketch this week, one that sparked an idea in my mind as soon as I saw it!

Those vertical panels made me think of rockets blasting off, so I turned to my much loved Half-Pint Heroes (and Half-Pint Heroines) from Waltzingmouse Stamps!

I am very inspired by Nicky Meek's amazing card making and watercoloring skills, as well as her ability to create the sweetest scenes and most incredible backgrounds! She made a galaxy background HERE (the cutest card!) that I used as inspiration...and luckily she described how she made it.
I started in the center blending Tim Holtz (regular) Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass, then moving outward in a circular pattern, used Peacock Feathers, Chipped Sapphire, then Black Soot. Splattered watered down white acrylic paint over the top; then when dry, added some silvery dots with a Sakura Stardust pen. So realistic!

I watercolored the rockets using Zig Clean Color Markers, added details with a white gel pen,  Diamond Stickles on the flames, and Nuvo Drops on the lights. Used a DCWV chevron stencil with Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste to make the flight path.

I split a sentiment from Half-Pint Heroes, stamped it in Versamark and then heat embossed it with white powder. I masked off the word "moon" in the sentiment so I could use the amazing Skinny Upper Alpha dies from The Stamp Market! Stacked two of each letter, and coated the top layer with Moonstone Glimmer Paste, too. A few wooden stars coated with white pigment ink, and this rocket card is ready for lift off 😉!

Eggs for Sale Sketch

Some fun with the sketch by Jen Timko at Freshly Made Sketches this weekend!

My end result turned out a little different than I intended, but you can't go wrong with Avery Elle's sweet chicken from Peek-a-boo Pets at work at the Farm Market Stand!

Added a sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps' L'il Buddies and eggs from Spring Baskets. The "Thank You" is from the Peek-a-boo Pets set. The inside says "I'd be cracking up without you!" 🤗

Added some woodgrain stamping on the stand using a Heidi Swapp background, and some paper-piecing with Pebbles "Lake House" papers. The side banners were made with PTI's Double-Ended Banner dies.

Lots of Glossy Accents on those special eggs for sale! So much fun creating this little scene, thanks for "chicken in!" 😉😆

Miniature Things

Playing along with Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge to use miniature things on your card or project. I chose some of the adorable Whittle dies and the "miniest" tag that I have ever seen from  Memory Box!

I used Whittle Rabbit, Whittle Birds, Whittle Eggs, and Whittle Basket. The sentiment is from a Waltzingmouse Stamps set called "Spring Baskets."

I made a watercolor wash for the background then stamped some coordinating mini dots with Papertrey Ink's  Polka Dot Basics. The tiny heart tag is cut with Memory Box's "Simple Little Tags."  Some Stardust Stickles and Wink of Stella pen for dewy spring sparkle! Even the card itself is a bit small, measuring about 3.5 x 5 inches.

Thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches #367 & Design Team Call

Another versatile sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week's is by Karren Johnson. A perfect one for the holidays!

I thought it was the sketch Santa would choose himself when designing his very own stationery!

I stamped Concord and 9th's "Plaid Background," then added a piece of Rustic White cardstock embossed with PTI's Woodgrain Impression Plate to the back.

Santa's seal of approval (checked twice of course) is from Waltzingmouse Stamps' "Around Christmastime" stamp set. I stamped then heat embossed with detail clear powder, and added some Glossy Accents.

The pine boughs are cut with Simon Says Stamps' "Pine Needle Trio." I'm pretty sure Santa would not send a letter unless it jingled ...so added some gold bell brads from Tim Holtz!

Thanks for stopping by...I'm pretty sure you all will have a note like this on file at the North Pole Headquarters 😊!
