Dragonfly & Daisy Throwdown

At the Color Throwdown  this week, we have some fun and bright colors from Vickie…pink, green, and purple!

I think I’ll call my creation a “modern botanical,” using products from The Greetery!

I used the “Jumbo Curiosity: Dragonfly” Stamp and Stencil set and “Big Branches: Ruscus” die, along with “Written in Ribbons.”

The background was made with Papertrey Ink’s Raspberry Fizz cardstock. I embossed both the white and pink cardstock with Stampin’ Up’s “Subtle” 3D embossing folder. Then I cut flowers using The Greetery’s “Ribbon Maker: Daisy Chain” dies from Raspberry Fizz cardstock and glued them over the top. I spritzed the whole piece with a white frosted glimmer spray to match the glittery dragonfly. The sentiment is also heat embossed with A Muse Studio’s Diamond embossing powder.

I am so glad I got to experiment with such fun, bright colors that are outside of my comfort zone! I hope you’ll try them out and upload your creation to The Color Throwdown Challenge this week!

Berry Basket Throwdown

This week at the Color Throwdown Challenge Blog, Lori chose a palette that is just perfect for summer (and anytime, really)! You can never go wrong with aqua, red, and yellow…

I made a shaped card using the sweet “Berry Basket” by Julie Ebersole from Ellen Hutson. You can use this die to make cards or 3D projects! The berries are cut with “BotaniCuts:: Strawberries” from The Greetery. I made my berry tops aqua, too, to stay consistent with the color scheme. I stamped Impression Obsession’s “Screen” Cover a Card background stamp on the berry basket. The sentiment is vintage Waltzingmouse Stamps :).

Come play along with us this week, and use the color inspiration to make something s little summery of your own! ☀️

Sprout Throwdown

Fresh and fun colors this week at the Color Throwdown! Amy chose this lovely photo…a spring “pick me up” kind of palette…sage green, pink, yellow, and brown (that’s my morning kind of scene)!

I chose to make a card featuring other things that “pick me up” each spring…budding flowers, green grass, and sparkling sunshine…!

I used The Greetery’s “Baby Face: Sprout” dies, “Baby Face: Sentiments” stamps, and the glowing rays from “Firefly Nights” heat embossed with white pearl embossing powder.

If you look closely,  I spritzed shimmer spray over the entire card to give it some sunSHINE! The leafy edge was made with Penny Black’s “Leaf Stitched Frame” dies.

Upload your creation this week at the Color Throwdown Challenge blog! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Butterfly & Macrame Throwdown

This week at the Color Throwdown Challenge, Wanda selected the softest and sweetest colors..blush, dusty rose, and white!

I was inspired by the layered tassels in the photo and took out the “Macrame” collection of products from The Greetery!

I made my background with the “Macrame: Openwork Base” and “Macrame: Diamond” dies. I used “Hoop and Fringe” with the “Jumbo Curiosity: Butterfly” and “Baby Face Sentiments” stamp set for the center, with a few little flowers from “Macrame: Borders and Tassels” along the edge.

Such a fun way to make a special card for a baby on the way! My niece is having a baby in September…and this card will be hers if it’s a girl!

Come play along with us at Color Throwdown this week. We can’t wait to see how these colors inspire YOU!

So Excited! …Throwdown!

I am playing along at the Color Throwdown Challenge  this week…but this time, I am THRILLED to say as a new member of the team! I cannot even put into words how excited I am! As you know, the Color Throwdown is my favorite weekly challenge, so I am beyond grateful for this opportunity. Thank you to all of the team members for their warm welcome ❤️!

I got to play with a really fun and unique set of colors chosen by Susie for this week…blue, brown, and rust!

I knew I wanted to make a spring card, but what images to choose with these warm colors? Well, nothing is warmer (or snugglier) for spring than a bunny! So, out came a favorite set of mine… The Greetery’s “Bunny Hop Wreath!”

I actually made that background with The Greetery’s “Square Dance Stencils” quite a while ago! It was perfect with the stenciled bunnies, flowers and a sentiment from the “Springtime” stamp set, and those glorious “BotaniCuts: Pussy Willows” that are so much fun to make …and fuzz-ify with white Fun Flock!

I can’t wait to see what everyone makes this week! Thanks so much for stopping by!

12 Kits of Occasions: Love is in the Air!

This month at the 12 Kits of Occasions, Michelle Leone of Pretty Periwinkle is our hostess, with the most lovely supplies, in beautiful pastel hues, ready for all of the celebrations that summer brings!

I created this card first featuring florals from PinkFresh Studio and a sentiment from The Greetery...

Added gorgeous iridescent sequins and a botanical butterfly from the patterned paper that was sent!

Up next, a sweet tag with a bouquet from The Stamp Market...

Michelle did so much gorgeous stamping and gold embossing for us, so putting this tag together was a breeze. Added a stamped vellum layer using The Stamp Market’s “Dot Dot Dot.”

Lastly, a beautiful butterfly and sentiment banner from The Stamp Market paired with a stamped background and cut flowers from The Greetery!

More lovely sequins, and I am loving the background stamped in Michelle’s signature periwinkle!

Be sure to visit the 12 Kits of Occasions blog to see the Design Team’s wonderful creations with this kit! Thanks SO much to Michelle for spoiling us with so much craft goodness, enough to last for the summer and beyond! 💜

Party Throwdown

This week’s colors at The Color Throwdown were a party for your eyes...

I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in shades of Faded Jeans, Seedless Preserves, Speckled Egg, and Crushed Olive with The Greetery’s amazing “Pinwheel Party” stencils and “AlphaBuds Slim” stamps and dies...

Oh how I love both sets...like magic coming together right before your eyes!

The stencils are designed perfectly to make that row of colorful pinwheels so easily! It’s addicting to try them in all different colors. The “AlphaBuds” letters are so unique, and I find it relaxing to stamp the letters and add the sweet little blooms.

Hope you are having a great weekend! As always, thank you for stopping by! ❤️

Pretty Plants Sketch

Loved Narelle’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

I chose to use The Greetery’s amazing “Macra-Made For You” dies...so intricate and realistic!

I cut a square frame with Nestabilities dies,  and embossed it with Stampin Up’s beautiful “Pinewood Plank” 3D Stampin Cut & Emboss folder.  Then I inked it in Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Aged Mahogany, Vintage Photo, and Rusty Hinge. Added the stamped and die cut plants using The Greetery‘s “Macra-Made For You” and “Pot-Pourri” sets. The sentiment on vellum is from “Pretty Postmarks.”

Stamped bricks from “Fresh Air” with Versamark ink, and heat-embossed in white, inking over them with Speckled Egg and Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Inks. Added some Nuvo Drop details to the macrame planter In Duck Egg Blue. The little planter is inked in Memento’s Danube Blue which is perfect for those bright ceramics you see!

Pinwheel Sketch

Here is a card for this week’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I used the fabulous new “Pinwheel Party” stencils, dies, and stamp set from The Greetery!

For the side panel, another amazing new product from The Greetery...the “Twisted Crepe” dies. Although my pinwheels didn’t quite make the shape of a diamond, I had so much fun with the sketch as inspiration!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

It’s time for the Spring/Summer 2020 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  It’s such a fun hop to play along with, and there are prizes from SO many generous sponsors! I made a card featuring The Greetery’s “Cozy Cup” stamp set and coordinating dies, and the “Cozy Cup Coaster” die.

I masked the plaid on the coaster and inked it up in the gorgeous new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink color “Speckled Egg,” which I quickly received from Simon Says Stamp! Added some blooms from The Greetery’s “Oopsy Daisy” set, and a “farmhouse table” background with Stampin Up’s “Pinewood Plank” 3D Stamp and Cut Embossing Folder.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Tropical Throwdown

This week’s colors at the Color Throwdown are positively tropical...aqua, fuschia, kraft, and white!

I used The Greetery’s “BotaniCuts Lily“ and “BotaniCuts Palm” die sets for my card...

I watercolored the lily and cut palms from two different brands of kraft cardstock. The large pink flowers were stamped and die cut using The Stamp Market’s “Tropical Vibes.”

The mini flowers are embossed in white and dotted with Nuvo Drops. The sentiment is from a set created by The Stamp Market called “Just Because” for Simon Says Stamps’ Stamptember release. The background was embossed with a large striped folder. Thanks for stopping by!

Lily Throwdown

This week’s color combination at the Color Throwdown is a beautiful bright palette chosen by Amy Rysavy, just perfect for spring...fuschia, purple, lime green, and gray!

The Greetery’s lovely BotaniCuts Lily and Palm die sets arrived just in time for me to create a card for the challenge!

I watercolored the pieces with my Zig Clean Color Markers and a wet paintbrush. I made a light watercolor wash background, then used the negative piece from cutting the palm fronds as a stencil with some a Weathered Wood Distress Oxide Ink.

The sentiment is from The Greetery’s “Pretty Postmarks.” Betsy Veldman makes the most beautiful products that are so easy to create with!

Signed & Sealed Throwdown

I loved the colors at this week’s Color Throwdown ...red, dark gray, light gray, and white!

I am having a hard time crafting without ROSES! Used The Greetery’s BotaniCuts Rose to add a bit of red to my card...

I colored the rose and rosebud with Distress Oxide inks on Bristol Smooth cardstock. Used Signed & Sealed and Signed & Sealed with a Kiss stamps and dies by The Greetery for the envelope, sentiments, and cute wax seal which I embossed in silver.  Added leaves and sprigs from the Inside & Out Berry Branch die, too. The patterned paper is The Gingham Farm collection ❤️ which I got at Hobby Lobby.

The background was made with Stampin Up’s 3D Woodgrain embossing folder and the little notebook paper with a background that is vintage Cornish Heritage Farms 😊❤️. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Pink Roses Sketch

This week, I used the Color Throwdown colors of pink, green, and navy blue with the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for a card using amazing new products from The Greetery.

I watercolored roses made with the BotaniCuts Rose dies using a Paul Rubens paint palette that I got on Amazon...

The background was stamped with one of the script sentiments from Pretty Postmarks and the mini postmark was made with an image from this set stamped on navy cardstock, which I glued over a vellum piece cut with the matching die.

The navy paper was cut out with the Postal Frames die. I tucked some branches cut with the BotaniCuts Pine Bough die for the bits of green. To say these products are awesome is an understatement! Betsy Veldman thinks of everything in her designs, so beautiful and fun to use!
