Snow Party!

Playing along with this week's Wednesday Challenge at the Simon Says Stamp blog. School is out for Christmas and I am ready for a snow party! I actually love it, and hope for more than the one inch we have on the ground.

"Party Time" is the theme this week, and Pinkfresh Studio's Forest Friends stamp set and coordinating die made me think of a little winter woods celebration!

Stamped the images on the awesome one layer scene die that coordinates with the set, then colored the animals with Copics and a white gel pen.

Sponged Tumbled Glass Distress ink, and also stamped PTI's Celestial Skies with white pigment ink over the top, as well as adding some white Nuvo Drops. The inside is snowflake patterned paper stamped with a treeline image in the set, which I heat embossed in white. Added some tiny clear rhinestones. The sentiment is from Verve Stamps.

Love Pinkfresh Studio's unique stamp and die combinations! They are whimsical and fun, but have incredible details!

25 Days of Christmas Tags: Day 5 Inspiration

On Day 5, Tracey had a showcase of sweet designs from Newton's Nook! I was inspired by
Zsofia Molnar's adorable kitten tag with its red gingham background and scalloped sentiment panel at the bottom.

I couldn't find a cat stamp (I don't have a cat stamp?!), so this furry polar bear from Papertrey Ink's Holiday Folk had to step in. Also used Cornish Heritage Farm's Gingham Backgrounder.

The polar bear is embossed with white powder on kraft paper. The sentiment is from Verve Stamps.

The greenery is also from Holiday Folk, and the stitched hill is cut with a Lawn Fawn die. The star was coated with Glossy Accents.

Tomorrow I will post my last tag for this celebration, can't believe how prepared I am for Christmas! What a blast this has been...🎁🎄!

25 Days of Christmas Tags: Day 10 Inspiration

Day 10 of Tracey's tags featured inspiration from Studio Katia! I loved Laura Volpes' sweet penguin tag with its arched window and snowy sky!

I stamped Hero Arts Woodgrain background, cut a tag, then cut another shaped tag (from Verve) out of the center. Used PTI's Celestial Sky for the snow and heat embossed in white.

The penguin and greenery are from PTI's Holiday Folk set. The sentiment is also from Verve Stamps.

Love how this CAS tag turned out
...always so glad to see one make it to the other side unsmudged 😃!

Color Throwdown Guest Stamper!

I was so excited to get to be the Guest Star Stamper this week at the Color Throwdown Challenge blog!  The colors I got to play with are de-licious.  Check them out...

That's pink, green, kraft and white, yummy!

I used the Shaker Shapes:Tree die from Papertrey Ink and some pastel patterned papers from DCWV...

The sentiment inside says "Holly Jolly" from a Verve Stamps set.  Filled the shaker with iridescent snowflakes and some mini clear sequins.  The holly at the top is made with holly dies from Tinsel & Tags, and a hole punch.

Thanks so much to the CTD Challenge Blog for having me!
Hope you all get a chance to play along this week.
You'll have snow much fun! :)

Two More for the Road...

It was "paper doll" fun with the Sizzix Framelits Snowman and Tag set that I got from Simon Says Stamp!  So much fun to play around with different patterns and color combinations!  Here are 2 more that I made this weekend...

This one stamped on Stampin Up's Woodgrain background in grey, with a sentiment included in the set.

Then this one is stamped on kraft, with L'il Inker snowflakes in the background, and a sentiment from Verve.  So much fun!

Icy Monday

Happy New Year!  It's an icy day here in upstate NY, with a temperature of 12 degrees just in time to send the kids back to school!

I finally got the chance to stamp during our school break, and made a card fitting for the day for two challenges...Curtain Call Inspiration Challlege "Frozen" photo and a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches!

I used the Holiday Folk set by PTI and made an icy background with the Hexagon Coverplate.

Used some old DCWV paper that has woodgrain and white sweater pattern.  The sentiment is from Verve Stamps, and the Falling Snow embossing plate it from Stampin Up!

Circle of Friendship

A long overdue Challenge Chicks post!  This month, Diane chose our theme, and she picked "Circle of Friendship"...to make a card with circles, about friends, or both.  I chose both :)!

The circular flowers are from Wplus9 Studio's "Doodle Buds" set, and the background confetti dots are from Papertrey Ink's "Good Times" set.

The sentiment is from Verve's "Text Objects" set.  I like how it had both "sunny" and "around" in it, perfect for the theme!  I added some Wink of Stella glitter pen and Diamond Stickles on some of the dots, as well as some mini orange flower sequins from the PTI Shakers and Sprinkles kit.

August 12 Kits with Amy!

Time for another edition of The 12 Kits of Occasions!  This month we are celebrating Christmas with a lovely kit from Amy Kolling!

There are lovely stamps and die cuts from Verve and patterned paper by Glitz!

I went with a warm and rustic card for my first, using the lovely Verve wreath and some dark brown paper that I embossed with PTI's Woodgrain impression plate.

My favorite part is all of the berries...tiny Recollections red gems!

My next card took a more elegant turn...

The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps "Ornate Ornaments" set.  Added a bit of Scor Tape and Doodlebug  "Lily White Sugar" glitter along the bottom.

I layered 2 poinsettias onto a stamped label (both from Verve) and added more Recollections gems.  The beautiful red bracket is left over from Jeanne's kit!!

And for my final project, I went a little whimsical and fun!

That is my favorite Christmas sentiment of all time!  So beautiful and TRUE.

Amy sent us this little banner die cut in red.  I originally was going to use it on a red card base so I decided to paint it with Tim Holtz Picket Fence crackle paint and added some Stampendous Crystal Snow glitter. Didn't end up using it against red but still love the snowy result :)!

Thanks SO much, Amy!  I had such a great time with your kit and as usual, more things have been added to my wishlist!

Amy is even hosting a giveaway this month!  One lucky participant who comments on the 12 Kits August post at the blog HERE will receive a $15 Verve stamp set of choice, yippee!  You have until 10pm CDT, September 6th to comment to win!

Off you go to see more fabulous projects...

Don't forget to keep watch on our blog and our Facebook page HERE for more inspiration with Amy's kit throughout the month!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Valentine's Day with the Challenge Chicks!

It's the first Sunday of the month, time for another fun edition of The Challenge Chicks!  This month our hostess is Kelli and she challenged us to make something for Valentine's Day!

The Queen of Procrastination has finished late again.  I've been baaaa-d (hee!). This adorable sheep seemed to be the perfect fit for my tardy card (and it's by our own Chick...Anna Wight!)  It's called "Heart Sheep" and is available at Whipper Snapper Designs...

I found some sweet rustic patterned papers including some denim from October Afternoon's Sasparilla collection.  I wanted my sheep to be happily traipsing through a flowery meadow, so I used these whimsical flowers from Verve Stamps.  The sentiment is from A Muse Studio...it's in Julie Ebersole's handwriting, swoooon!

I can barely stand the cuteness!  I tried my best to color him with Copic markers and paper-pieced his little blanket with more denim and dots.

Off you go to see the rest of the Chicks' projects!  We would love for you to play along.  Upload your creation to Splitcoaststampers using the keyword CHXFEB13 or post a project to your own blog and link it to our Facebook page HERE!

Friendship

For the Friday Free for All Challenge at SCS...to use a sentiment stamp repeatedly on your card.  I used the images from Verve Stamps "Text Objects" to make this card!  Stamped the "friend" first, then went over the top with Versamark ink and Polka Dot Basics.  I embossed the dots with clear powder afterwards.  Love these PTI colors together...Spring Rain, Enchanted Evening, Pure Poppy, and white!  P.S...that edge of the Spring Rain panel looks a little bit straighter in real life :)!

Oldie but Goodie

I FINALLY got the PTI stamp set "Quilter's Sampler".  I bought it "used" from a PTI forum member.  Once it arrived at my house, I started wondering "What took me so long?!"  I used Guide Lines Grid paper to line up my little patchwork squares (worked like a charm!).  I colored them in with watercolor pencils and a waterbrush.  I then sponged over the whole piece with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress ink.  For a final step, I stamped over the whole piece with the Canvas Backgrounder stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms (inked up with PTI Vintage Cream ink).  Distressed the edges and "flicked" them up after I taped the piece down, and then it really started to look like fabric!  The cute hearts are from the "Text Objects" stamp set by Verve Stamps.  This card was for Splitcoaststampers' Color Challenge this week...Cherry Cobbler, Pretty in Pink, and Melon Mambo!

Hearty Showers!

For today's Featured Stamper at Splitcoast White Rock Mama aka Marisa Ritzen.  I chose to case this CARD that she made using Verve Stamps.

Here is mine using a different Verve set, "Text Objects".  I won their WHOLE release at their release party last month (December was a lucky one for me!)

Stamped the hearts on Modern Homemaker decorative paper from October Afternoon, then glued them down on cardstock.  Then I ran the whole piece through my Cuttlebug using the Canvas Impression Plate from Papertrey Ink (I used the Linen side on the background mat).  It's hard to tell in the photo but it leaves a subtle distressed texture that I enhanced with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress ink.

Marisa is a whiz with Verve Stamps, Nestabilities, ribbon, and pretty much any other stamping tool you can think of!  Her gallery is filled with lusciously-layered cards, you must go and check it out for yourself!
