Waltzingmouse Stamps October Blog Party!

It's October 17th, and that means it's time for another Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party!  This month we were issued a color challenge...

Okay, I thought this was SUCH a doozy!  I have never pushed so many scraps of paper around in my life, LOL!  Purple, orange, and black are the colors of the day...and they just happen to be the ones that I reach for the least, eeeek!  Since I found them so scary, I thought it would be an excellent opportunity to use them on a Halloween card.

I cut some strips of PTI cardstock in the colors Smokey Shadow, Royal Velvet, Plum Pudding, Canyon Clay, and a teeny bit of Melon Berry.  I glued them down and ran the whole piece through my Cuttlebug with (an oldie but goodie) the D'Vine Swirls embossing folder.

I sprayed the whole piece with some Tsukineko Sheer Shimmer Spritz in "Frost", then cut out an oval window with a Nestie.

I stamped Witch Wanda from Halloween Party and then did some fussy cutting (double eek!).  I almost called Anya for help, hee!  Lastly, I stamped one of the cool vintage patterns from Ovals-Classic Frames and added the fence, sentiment, and a little crow from Hocus Pocus over the top.

I can't wait to see all of the wonderful fall inspiration that you created with this challenging color scheme!  You have until tomorrow, Thursday October 18th at 1:30 PM EST to upload your creation to Claire's blog HERE.  She will highlight special projects and also announce the randomly-selected winner of a free stamp set on October 20th.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Hocus Pocus, Halloween Party, Ovals-Classic Frames, all Waltzingmouse Stamps
Paper:  PTI cardstock in Smokey Shadow, Royal Velvet, Plum Pudding, Canyon Clay, Melon Berry, and Vintage Cream; American Crafts glittered cardstock in Charcoal

Other:  Spellbinders Standard Ovals Small Nestabilities, D'Vine Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder, Tsukineko "Frost" Sheer Glimmer Spritz, Stickles, Super Star Border die and Star Prints die from PTI

What a great Halloween card. I would never know that you don't like these colors. Love that witch--she looks like she is scolding the bird.

I can SO relate to "paper piece pushing". Sometimes it drives me crazy, sometimes it makes for happy accidents:) Just love that cool BG you stamped in the oval. With the pearly accents - so you!

What a fantastic bg you created in that oval Kelly!! LOVE it!! And I'm with you. I'm not an orange and purple gal unless it's for a Halloween card. They're both quite a challenge in my book!! I love all your fun details and sparkly additions!!

This is so cool Kelly! I love the rows of color and the metallic shine. Most of all I love that background behind the sentiment - it's stamped beautifully and I know how hard that can be which makes me appreciate it all the more!
