Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release Previews, Day 3

Tomorrow is the big day!  Claire will be releasing 9 new stamp sets at Waltzingmouse Stamps!  Be sure to visit her blog HERE for all of the latest information.  The last 3 sets being revealed today are, Bright Season, Light of the World Sentiments, and Little Lanterns!

First up is Little Lanterns paired with Light of the World Sentiments.  This sentiment  is such a beautiful one for a person that needs some encouragement.  Claire thought of such a lovely and creative way to say "I'm thinking of you."  I decided to challenge myself and make a clean and simple card.   Of course, it took me just as long as a fancier one!

I used a circle Nestie as a stencil to make a little glowing spot for the lantern.  When I did this card in the first round (yes, there were 2 attempts!), I just tried to use the inner portion of the nestie for the shading, but I ended up getting some ink on the outside of the circle by mistake.  I actually liked the little halo it created, so I did the card over again, and shaded all the way around the outside, too.

I used A Muse Studio Lemon Whip ink which is such a lovely soft yellow.  You may be able to see it a little bit better in this photo...the candle has a little orange twinkling rhinestone (whoa, my only embellishment!).

Bright Season is another set that is right up my folk art alley :)!  I could not wait to break out the new Christmas papers that I have been starting to collect.  These are from the "Festive" collection by Authentique.  Used some previously released sets on this card, too-Musical Backgrounds, the fun circle image from Nutcracker Sweet, and a sentiment from Compliments of the Season.

There are so many sweet images packed in this little set...candles, flames, leaves, berries, and a big lantern.  Claire thinks of everything!

I chose to make a taper candle.  Stamped the holly leaves and added the berries with dimensionals.  I love the little candle glow images included in the set, too  (Note...I have to say it because it's bugging me.  That little red smudgy looking area by the candle base?  That is really part of the patterned paper.  I didn't smear ink, promise, heeee!  Okay, I feel better now!)

Don't forget that tomorrow is release day!
The Design Team will be posting some more projects at 2:00 PM EST for the Release Day Blog Waltz and Claire will be revealing the sets on her blog.

Be sure to visit today, though, to see their fabulous samples with these new sets!
