Denim and Confetti Sketch

A last minute entry for Freshly Made Sketches!  I actually made the card last night and didn't have time to blog it until today!  This week's sketch is by Narelle Farrugia...

For stamp sets, got out two oldies but goodies, including Nordic Spring from Waltzingmouse Stamps.  I stamped the butterfly with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it in white. Sponged some Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick Distress ink inside the wings.  The little heart flowers are also heat embossed with white powder.

Loving the confetti look that I have seen so many people use on their cards lately, whether made with small paper punch scraps, sequins, or stamps.  I used 2 mini dots from Papertrey Ink's Polka Dot Basics to make mine...

Left off a sentiment for now.  Thinking this will be a good card to have on hand for a girly birthday party.

Thanks for stopping by...these "Freshly Made Sketches" are giving my stamping mojo a boost...it appears to be on summer vacation or something!

Back in the Game sketch

Long time no see!  I have had such a busy start of the summer, much busier than I thought I would be with work and being away on the weekends.  But finally got a chance to stamp today with the sketch of the week from Freshly Made Sketches.  This lovely one is from Linda Suarez!

I used the sweet new You're a Doll set (and a sentiment from You're a Doll-Additions).  Both are now available at Waltzingmouse Stamps...

Loved this paper from Pebbles "Walnut Grove" collection.  Thought it had a sweet folk art feel and stamped my doll to match it.  Paired it with some doily and woodgrain paper from Crate Paper's "Story Teller" collection.

I may be back later as I still have to meet the Challenge Chicks this month!  Never thought I would be late with a Christmas card in July...but that's our theme this month! :)

Supplies:
Stamps:  You're a Doll and You're a Doll Additions, Waltzingmouse Stamps
Paper:  Pebbles "Walnut Grove", Crate Paper "Story Teller",  PTI Rustic White and Vintage Cream
Ink:  A Muse Studio Mermaid & Cherry, Hero Arts Butter Bar, Stampin Up Real Red, Memento Espresso Truffle, Papertrey Ink Simply Chartreuse
Other:  crocheted lace, gems

Waltzimgmouse Stamps Release Day Blog Hop!

The June release stamp sets are available at Waltzingmouse Stamps right now, and they are:
You're a Doll
You're a Doll Additions
Fine Feathers
Funky Feathers
Country Labels No. 14
Big Berry-Cherries
Crackle Background (both a full size and a mini size)
Crackle Background Reverse (both a full size and a mini size)

You should be arriving here from Becca's blog but you can always go back to Claire's blog for the full list!

I decided to focus on Big Berry-Cherries again.  LOVE that mini set!

I stamped the cherries with VersaMark and heat embossed them with white powder.  Paired them with coordinating patterns from some of Claire's other sets...

the houndstooth from Heirloom Patterns (and also the sentiment from the previously-released "Big Berries-Strawberry)

and the polka dots from Off Beat Backgrounds.

Claire also has a little surprise up her sleeve today!  It's a mini set called Charm Squares and it's going to be FREE for FIRST 50 orders that spend over £60GBP today!  It will then be made available for sale :)

I paired Charm Squares with another label from Country Labels No. 14 and the cherries from Country Labels No. 4 (released in May). Made a little tag holder with "chalkboard" paper from Hobby Lobby.  I dusted it up with some real chalk :)

See the cute images from Charm Squares?!  That button looks so real to me, and it's easily punched out with a 7/8 punch.  That "thread" in the middle is stamped!!  Sentiment from Country Labels No. 4.

The contest!  Leave a comment on the DT Members' blogs as Claire will be choosing one random winner from all of the comments to receive a stamp set of choice! You will have until July 2nd at 11:59 PM (GMT), 5:5 9AM Central (July 3), 3:59 AM Pacific and 6:59 AM Eastern to leave comments. The winner will be posted on Claire’s blog on July 4th.

Now off to LYNN'S BLOG for some fabulous inspiration!

12 Kits! June with Jeanne!

It's the last day of JUNE, so that means it's time for another round of 12 Kits!  This month we are back to Christmas, and received a most gorrrrrgeous kit from our gal, Jeanne Jachna!

I hope that her arm is okay after cutting so many beautiful dies and stamping the coordinating images for us, heee!  It was so amazing to spread everything out on the table like this...

Thanks for the pic, Kara!

There are always a few things that catch my eye first in a kit and this time it was this sweet little girl from "Greeting Card Kits" from Stampin' Up...and this adorable paper clip!  I want to make 50 of them, so cheerful!

I watercolored her with Distress inks and then added some Stickles.  There is even a BLUE jingle bell!  I did not know of such jingle bells!  My wishlist got much longer after seeing Jeanne's kit :)

Next a fun layered card with a Santa from WPlus9,

So much fun to layer!  The little kraft section is a tiny paper bag perfect for tucking...

THIS list inside!

Some more silhouette love...

Did I tell you yet how much I love these patterned papers from Basic Grey?!  So bold and the colors remind me of Jeanne.

Love the gems...and that awesome shimmery bauble so perfect for the sentiment.  Oh...Spellbinders Ribbon Buckles also added to my "Must Have" list :)

Last a masculine card...always think that with each kit I should make either a tag or a masculine card since I never have enough of either in my stash...

Oooo birch woodgrain paper, LOVE!

I painted the deer chipboard die cut with Tim Holtz Crackle Paint in Picket Fence.  Added this adorable frosty jingle bell from Jeanne!

So there you have it.  As always, I have so much left over that it is pretty much sinful!  Thanks SO much to Jeanne for spoiling us this month.

For some Christmas inspiration visit these 12 Kitters TOO ;) AND a special guest this month!!

Waltzingmouse Stamps June Release Previews, Day 3

Isn't this release from Waltzingmouse Stamps so fabulous?!  If you are just joining the fun, you can always see what's been going on by tuning into Claire's blog HERE for all of the latest release details.

Today we are debuting 2 more (out of 10!) stamp sets that will be released this Sunday, June 30th! They are Country Labels No. 14 and Big Berry-Cherries!

Up first is a card with Big Berry-Cherries...

I actually made mine pink with a healthy dose of clear coarse glitter from Martha Stewart.

I used this week's cool sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches blog designed by Jennifer Brum.

Next is a card with Country Labels No. 14.  Isn't that sentiment the sweetest?

I was waiting for my Spellbinders Labels 14 Nestabilities to arrive and so glad they were late because I got to try out a new technique that Julie Ebersole featured on her blog HERE.  She stamped some flowers onto kraft paper using white pigment ink, then overstamped them with dye inks.  I used little flowers from the previously-released sets Faux Fun Circles and Pic-Nic Patterns.

Love that it looks like chalking or folk art painting!

Now for some fabulous inspiration from these Design Team members...

Waltzingmouse Stamps June Release Previews, Day 1

Hi everyone!  Today is the day when we finally get to share projects made with the 10 new sets being released on Saturday June 29th at Waltzingmouse Stamps!

Up today I have 2 projects featuring "You're a Doll-Additions."  (....My "You're a Doll" set happened to land in the wrong place, so I am featuring the little companion addition set on its own :)

My first card features the lovely little doll's face.

I stamped the face after coloring it with Tim Holtz Distress markers and then cut it out.  Added some little twine braids and a flower for her hair.  My two daughters were getting such a kick out of the little girl image and they had plenty to say about how she should look :)

Now for a fun way to use the sweetest sentiment from the set...

It just made me think of eggs and chicks!  I used the egg from Nestie Eggs and the chicks from A Good Egg. The little heart is also included in You're a Doll Additions.

See you back here tomorrow for more previews.  Here are the DT members that will be featuring "You're a Doll" and/or "You're a Doll-Additions" today...
