...and some more Waltzingmouse Stamps May Release Inspiration!

I'm back with another set of cards featuring the newly-released stamp sets USA 1776 and Country Labels No. 4, from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

I can hardly believe that the 4th of July is next WEEK!  I had to make another card with the star points from USA 1776 (the little "kite" shapes in the set) that coordinate with Spellbinders Stars 5 Nestabilities...

I cut the star out of patterned paper and then stamped one underneath.  The negative piece is placed over the top with dimensionals.  These stars are perfect for patriotic holidays...and beyond!  This lucky sentiment is from Compact Sentiments 2.

Up next is a cherry print background made with Country Labels No. 4...

I recently got this cool plaid paper in the Pebbles "Lakeside" Collection, and used it to set the colors for my background.  Stamped the little circular labels and then added the cherries from the set.

This time with a sentiment from the original Compact Sentiments.  I decided to leave this card simple, although I was very tempted to gloss up those cherries (but was too scared to after all of the circle stamping)!  In the end, my daughter Claire picked my one and only embellishment...she thought that the card would look best if I "dotted" the "j."  :)

More Waltzingmouse Stamps May Release Inspiration!

Today some of the Design Team members are featuring more projects made with the two newly-released stamp sets at Waltzingmouse Stamps.  They are Country Labels No. 4, and the set I am using today....USA 1776!

Both of my cards feature the amazing fireworks included in the set.  For my first card, I wanted to have my fireworks exploding in the night sky.

I stamped the images in VersaMark on a sheet of acetate and then heat embossed them with white powder.  Then I placed the piece over a sheet of navy star patterned paper.  The sentiment underneath is stamped in on a piece of linen washi tape.  (It's hard to see in the photo due to the acetate.)

My second card is a bit more elegant.

More fireworks, but this time stamped in Delicata Gold Glitz ink.  That stuff is amazing!  Totally looks like gold embossing without having to get out your heating tool.  I dabbed a dot of Liquid Pearls in Bisque in the center of each one.

I made a little "wooden" label using paper from Crate Paper's "Storybook" collection.  I love the stately eagle!

Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party!

It's time for a Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party!  The theme this month is "Summertime Fun."  You can see all of the lovely cards with the theme HERE at Claire's blog.  You still have time to participate, too!  Upload you creation to the Mr. Linky set on her blog by tomorrow at 1:00 PM EST and a random participant will win a stamp set of choice.  Claire will announce the winner and also highlight some special mentions on her blog on Thursday, June 20th.

Nothing is more fun for my family than going to visit my sister and her family in Manahawkin, New Jersey!  We visit the beaches of Long Beach Island.  My niece's husband John is quite the surfer and this card makes me think of all of his cool shirts and boards...and the Ron Jon Surf Shop in Ship Bottom, NJ...

I stamped the bubbles and wave from Free Spirit Boy onto some paper from "The Pier" collection by Crate Paper.  Roughed it up around the edges and added some woodgrain paper along the borders.

But the star of the show is the North Shore image!  I stamped it in VersaMark onto woodgrain paper from The Pier and then heat embossed it with white powder.  Colored in the sunset with some Copics and added a bit of gold Stickles to make the waves shimmer!

Can't wait to see all of the party projects!  Summer is slow in getting here in Upstate New York.  Rain, rain, and more rain.  I am ready to feel some sun on my skin about now!

Supplies:
Stamps:  North Shore and Free Spirit Boy, both Waltzingmouse Stamps

Ink:  Fresh Ink in Strawberry, A Muse Studio Mermaid and Burano inks, VersaMark, Copics
Other:  Filagree white embossing powder, Spellbinders Oval Nestabilities, Stickles, twine, edge distresser, mini rhinestones

Sunny Side Up Sketch

It's been raining A LOT here, and I thought a sunny side up card was in order for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge!  Here is the sketch created by Linda Callahan...

...and my card.  I chose to turn the sketch and then changed the middle shape a bit...

I used the adorable new set Country Labels 4 from Waltzingmouse Stamps which coordinates with Spellbinders Labels 14 Nestabilities.

The sunshine is from Country Labels 4.  The sentiment, sweet hen on the banner, and all of the little folk art floral images are from the previously-released set A Good Egg.  These sets go perfectly together!

Be sure to come back later today at Waltzingmouse Stamps will be having their blog party at Claire's blog HERE.  The theme?  Summertime FUN!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Country Labels 14 and A Good Egg, both Waltzingmouse Stamps
Paper:  Simple Stories "Vintage Bliss," PTI Rustic White
Ink:  Hero Arts Butter Bar, A Muse Studio Mermaid, Fresh Ink in Pink Lemonade, Memento Espresso Truffle

Fresh Strawberry Sketch

Loved this sketch by Rita Wright at Freshly Made Sketches as soon as I saw it!

It made me think of all things sweet with the little banners and the baker's twine.  I started off making a floral card, but the beautiful reds in this "Tangerine" paper from My Mind's Eye made me think of this Big Berries-Strawberry image from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

I originally had pennants along the bottom, but they looked too "busy" next to the "faux washi" printed right on the paper.  So I chopped them off and made little tabs.  Risky move since the card was done and sitting on my shelf!

I was practicing with the adorable new flowers images and dies from WPlus9's Fresh Cut Florals and decided they would be perfect as strawberry blossoms!  The sentiment is also from Big Berries-Strawberry.

I am enjoying this challenge blog so much!  The DT is fabulous and so many gorgeous entries each week...very inspiring :)

Supplies:
Stamps:  Big Berries-Strawberry, Waltzingmouse Stamps and Fresh Cut Florals, WPlus9
Paper:  My Mind's Eye "The Sweetest Thing -Tangerine," PTI Rustic White
Ink:  Fresh Ink in Tomato Red, Pear, and Basil, and Hero Arts Butter Bar
Other:  WPlus9 Fresh Cut Florals dies, Divine Twine in Green Apple, button, yellow twine

Fresh Flip Flops

I was in the mood for summer cards today!  I used the new sketch by Jen Mitchell at Freshly Made Sketches to make another summer card today.  This time I was thinking docks and flip flops since we were at my sister's lake house yesterday!

I used Papertrey Ink's Flipping Out stamp set and fun beachy paper from Crate Paper called "The Pier."

Love the wooden dock!  Added some stars and little opaque gems.   Didn't want to ruin the flow of the waves on the paper so added some nautical looking knots ;)!

Love these CAS sketch challenges, they really get my brain thinkin'.  Thanks so much, ladies!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Flipping Out, Papertrey Ink
Paper:  Crate Paper "The Pier", PTI Kraft cardstock
Ink:  Memento Espresso Truffle
Other:  PTI Flipping Out and Seeing Stars dies, opaque gems, twine

June with the Challenge Chicks

It's the first Sunday of June, yippee!  School is almost out and it's time for some fun with the Challenge Chicks!  Lydia came up with a cheerful "Here Comes the Sun" challenge...use yellow, orange, and white on a card with extra credit bonus points if we use an actual sun image!

YES!  Accepted the challenge AND got the bonus points :)!!  I cut various yellow and orange patterned papers into wedges and glued them into a sun ray pattern.  Started with the 2 pieces at the bottom meeting in the middle, then added as I went around.

Then I stamped 2 suns (one on top, then one directly underneath) from Waltzingmouse Stamps "My Island" and cut out the center portion with a circle Nestie. Stamped a sentiment from the new "Country Labels No. 4" set over the top, then used the new circle frame from Country Labels No. 4 and placed it over the top with dimensionals.  Sunny!

Upload your creations to Splitcoastampers using the keyword "CHXJUNE13" or you could link your blog post to our Facebook page HERE!
