Festive Tree

Long time, no blog!  We've been away in New Jersey to see family for Thanksgiving and also so that I could attend my 20th High School Reunion!  I got me a new avatar after dressing up for the party on Saturday :)!

Today I thought I would share a card featuring Pink Persimmon's new stamp set
Merry Christmas Tree!  Used PTI's Pinefeather cardstock, stamped the tree in Versamark, and then embossed it in white.  The little red stitching is actually a stamp included in this set!  The big plaid ribbon and jingle bell are courtesy of JoAnn's (and some coupons, hee!), and more PTI cardstock in Fine Linen.

Tomorrow is December 1st and the start of my favorite card-making time of the year!  Can't wait to dig into my Christmas stamp stash and see what I've been missing all these months!

Waltzingmouse Christmas Blog Waltz

Today is the Waltzingmouse Stamps Christmas Blog Waltz!  I chose to use the holly leaves and sentiment from Sewing Box-Christmas, one of my fave Christmas sets of all times!  I made my background paper using the Pic-Nic Patterns stamp set, and added Musical Backgrounds to my holly leaves.

I made a little treat envelope just big enough to fit a package of cocoa or coffee inside.  I made the plaid paper using the 2 plaid strips from Pic-Nic patterns, then scored 2 lines in the middle and brought the sides up to meet each other.  Punched 2 holes and threaded with ribbon.  The holly berries are little red bells from Jo Ann's that I sewed on!

A sweet treat for someone sweet...using the sweetest stamp set!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Virtual Stamping fun!

It's another Virtual Stamping Weekend at Splitcoaststampers.  Challenges were posted all evening tonight, and will be posted from 12:00-10:00 PM tomorrow around the theme "On Cloud Nine"!
Carole (aka fibrejunky) had a fun challenge tonight.  She said that Christmas puts her on "cloud nine"...so her challenge was to make a Christmas card using NO red or green!

I chose PTI shades of Sweet Blush, Vintage Cream, and Kraft...and added a little Fresh Ink in "honey" for the gingerbread man.  It really is fun to try a Christmas card in non-traditional colors.  I can always do without green, but no RED!  That's hard for me!  Used Guide Lines 2 to make my background, and the gingerbread man from Holiday Button Bits.

Also played Kimme's "The Touch, the feel...of Clouds" challenge...to use something soft on a card.  I chose white "Fun Flock" by Stampendous...

Used the sheep from one of my favorite sets of all times "Primitive Beginnings" by Lesley Langdon for Cornish Heritage Farms.  Made the snow with the D'Vine Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The starbursts at the top are from Pink Persimmon's new set, Merry Christmas Tree.  Sentiment is from PTI's Believe set.

Come join the fun this weekend at the Virtual Stamping Night thread at SCS.  You can participate in one or all of the challenges...just upload your creations by Monday November 15 and you could be eligible to be chosen for the VSN Honors Gallery!

Little Stitched Stocking

For today's Clean and Simple Challenge at SCS...to make a simple card using the colors soft pink, old olive, kraft and white...with the option of adding Marina Mist.  I substituted PTI's colors Ripe Avocado, Sweet Blush, Ocean Tides, white and kraft...

So glad I played today...these colors are SO much fun for a Christmas card!  Used Waltzingmouse Stamps Sewing Box Christmas.  It's difficult to see but the little pink toes are plaid just like the top of the stocking (used a retired SU plaid stamp).  The background is the Ticking Stripe Backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms.  So sad that they have closed now...they made the best background stamps!  Little twigs are Martha Stewart's branch punch...really, she let me borrow it just for today :).

Feeling Merry

Since the clocks went back, I had an extra hour this morning to drink coffee, stamp, and be merry!  I made 2 cards...

The first is for today's featured stamper at SCS jazzitobi, aka Tobi Crawford! Cased THIS adorable snowman card.

Kept Tobi's overall theme and most of layout, changed images and colors.  Used snowman from Waltzingmouse Stamps Sewing Box Christmas...also used WMS Musical Backgrounds (added some "jazzy notes" for Tobi), and Pic-Nic Patterns to make a plaid background in pink and tan.  Sentiment is from Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers by PTI.

The next card is for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #22 this week:

Used Waltzingmouse Stamps Musical Background again, and then the ornament tops from PTI's Holiday Button Bits.  Dug around in my stash and found some really fancy buttons to make my ornaments.

Hope you are filling your extra hour with fun, too!

Tag You're it...Again!

One more tag submission for Waltzingmouse Stamps "Tag, You're It" Challenge!  I used the tree from WMS Sewing Box: Christmas and some really fun Sheer Shimmer Spritz by Tsukineko...the "color" I used is called "Sparkle".

Here is a close up of the shimmer...I sprayed it from top to bottom on the PTI Blueberry Sky cardstock, and the white pieces that I embossed with the Textile Cuttlebug Embossing Folder.

You can also see the mini jingle bells and heart buttons that I added as ornaments.

I don't know...this contest is really fun and has such a great prize!  I might be up for a few more entries if I can find the time!

New Christmas stamps at Pink Persimmon!

Two new stamp sets just released at Pink Persimmon!  They are designed by Cathe Holden and are just vintage loveliness!

On this card, I used Holly & Mistletoe to make a frame for the Santa image from last year's Holly Wreath set.  Used more thin cherry real wood paper from Creative Imaginations along the bottom, some red twill and gingham ribbon, and a vintage gold button.  Stazon Jet Black ink worked perfectly for watercoloring Santa and stamping the sentiment from the set on the wood paper.  Look closely, and you will see that Santa's hat is even fuzzy (thanks to some white fun flock by Stampendous)!

Pink Persimmon also released some beautiful new ribbons and twill tapes (including a ruler print!) that can be seen HERE.

Keep your eye on Pink Persimmon's BLOG this week (and mine, too!) for more projects featuring Holly & Mistletoe and the other newly-released stamp set Merry Christmas Tree!

Happy Halloweeny! One day late!

A quick post to show you what I did on Halloween!  We went Trick or Treating, or course...Eva was Little Red Riding Hood, and Claire was a Pink Cat!

We went with a big crew!  We ventured in to the village of Avon since we live out in the country!  A ghoul, the Swat Team, a giraffe, a lion, Buzz Lightyear, a mermaid, and Chicken Little all represented.  As you can see it was freezing!  40 degrees when we started...and dropping!

So wanted to take a bite out of this little chicken!!!!!

Before we went, I took time to honor the Queen for the Day at Splitcoaststampers...her name is Hilda!  But her screename just happens to be "Broom"!!!  This is the card I cased HERE!
Used Papertrey Ink's Friendship Jar Fall Fillers set.

Have a great November 1st kind of day!
