One Layer Bundle Sketch

A tricky one at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog this week...the elusive ONE LAYER WONDER card!

So hard to do!!!  But here is mine...

I used the negative cut with the Petite Scallops Large Nestabilities to make the outside frame.  I placed the piece on the cardbase as a template and sponged around the inside using Antique Linen Distress ink.  The heart is from Sweethearts and the sentiment from Frame-It.

What is hard to see in the first photo is the knit circle from Faux Fun Circles stamped around the inside with pink ink!  I also used a glue pen to edge the outside of the heart, and then sprinkled some Crystal Snow glitter to make it stand out a bit.

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

It's blog hop time at Papertrey Ink, and this month there was this delicious photo...

 chock full of inspiration (and yummy things!)

I made two cards for today's hop.  The first features the sweet balloon strings from Everyday Button Bits, stamped on a Button Boutique card.

The paper is from the Fine and Dandy Collection by My Mind's Eye.  I placed the button card on a panel of Harvest Gold cardstock stamped with Polka Dot Basics in Fresh Snow ink.

Added some fun buttons from my stash, a little Aqua Mist border cut with the Pearl Lace Border die from Memory Box, and a Tiny Tags die cut.


....and on to my second card...there's that Baby Button Bits cupcake again!  I am pretty that sure I used it on the last hop that I participated in!  I just love it, and think it is my most-used PTI stamp...

Paper-pieced the cupcake with gingham paper from Lily Bee Design and some white cardstock embossed with a Sizzix folder.

I'm always looking for different things to put on top!  This time it's a butterfly on PTI's Linen Vellum cut with a die from A Muse Studio.

I think we will be feeling very sunny after all of the stops at the hop today!

Balm of Friendship Sketch

Happy weekend!  I really couldn't wait for this one to get here what with all of that nice weather...and now the temps are going from 80's back down to the 50's-60's for Saturday and Sunday!  Oh well, at least it's not snowing!

Here's something that cheered me up...a new sketch by Renee Lynch for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog!

Here is my card...

I turned the sketch to the right and added a label from Rescue Remedies.  Helen Berry's Top Mouse card here, from two weeks ago, inspired me to take out Pic-Nic Patterns and stamp those sweet little blooms!  The whole card started to come together in my mind after receiving the "Double Dutch" patterned paper line from Lily Bee Design in the mail.  There are even a bunch of sheets that are just different colors of gingham!  (I stamped the label on the tan one).  The flowers are actually on two separate panels as seen on the sketch, but then I ended up covering the seam with a bow...well, since it matched the papers so well :)

Waltzingmouse Stamps St. Patrick's Day Blog Party!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY...again!

It's time for my favorite blog party of the year at Waltzingmouse Stamps!  Today's theme (would it be any other??) is St.Patrick's Day, Irish, GREEN!

I don't have any of the Irish sets (yet!) from Waltzingmouse Stamps (shame on me!!), so I used the plaid pattern from Off Beat Backgrounds and combined sentiments from Say It Loud Winter Holiday and Say It Loud.  Reminded me of an old Irish blessing!

Made my own little cluster of shamrocks using the Mini Rolled Rose die from My Favorite Things.  Cut them with some delicious green wool blend felt that I got from an Etsy.com shop called "BenzieBazaar."  Added some krafy stalks, then tucked them in a nestie oval stamped with Ovals-Classic Frames.

Hope you have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day today!  No parade in Rochester for us, but it IS supposed to be near 70 degrees today!  I think some corned beef and cabbage will be attempted.  With my husband working this weekend, I'll be left to my own cooking devices (eek!).  Armed with a crockpot and I smile, I will do my best :)

Bit O' Green Sketch

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!  

It will be a busy day at Waltzingmouse Stamps!  First up is this sketch by Renee Lynch for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog!

A bit o' green spilled over onto my card with Renee's sketch...

I stamped a background with a pattern from French Country and then dotted the centers with white opal Liquid Pearls.  Also added a little panel from Gingham & Co. with the same color ink.  The sentiment in green is from Say It Loud!  On St. Patrick's Day everyone should celebrate being Irish!  I get asked if I am Irish quite often as I have red hair, but sadly I just have to pretend today like lots of other people :)

I got a medallion die, I got one, I got one!  This one is called the Woodrow Rosette die and it's from Memory Box.  I purchased mine from Ellen Hutson.  I will admit to having a little trouble with it at first, as I was overlapping the edges too much when I adhered them.  This caused the medallion to rip when I pushed it down.  It's also easier to fold lighter weight patterned paper than cardstock.  (I used green gingham Kitschy Kitchen paper from Melissa Frances for mine.) Once I got that straightened out, it was smooth sailing and full steam ahead!  I made quite a few this weekend.  The die actually comes with a separate piece for the center, but I opted for a button cut with PTI's Buttoned Up #2 die instead.

Wee Chicks Sketch

Another lovely sketch from Renee Lynch for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog!  This week's is very versatile.  I got a sneak peek of the Mischief Makers' samples and they are so awesome!

Here is my card:

This week I used the L'il Buddies set with papers from the Melissa Frances "Kitschy Kitchen" Collection.  I just purchased them and have NO idea why I waited so long.  What an awesome collection of papers, and just my style, too!

Cut the dotted paper with the little pinked square from PTI's Button Boutique die collection.  I colored the chicks with Copic markers.  Stamped them twice to save me from having to cut out those teeny little feet!  I then popped up their bodies with dimensionals.

The colors of yum

Oh yes, that's what I think about the color combination and photos at the CR84FN Color Challenge blog this week...kraft, yellow, and gray!  Fresh and fun and YUM!!

I have been trying my hand at some CAS cards lately, but they always end up taking me so long to make!!  For this card, I used October Afternoon patterned paper to piece the apple and pear from the Walzingmouse set, Peace and Plenty.  Also used the cane print from the new set Heirloom Patterns for the border.  See the twine...that's my one gray piece!  It's Divine Twine in the color "oyster".  The sentiment is from Dainty Doilies-Large set, and stamped on a Tiny Tag die cut from PTI.

To add a little more oomph, I ran a piece of PTI's Linen Vellum cardstock through my cuttlebug with the polka dot impression plate from A Muse Studio.  The paper is white, but there is yellow behind it on the base.  Kind of gave a glowy effect!

I will definitely try this color combination again, it's so fresh and fun!  Thanks for stopping by!
