PTI Heart Hop


This month the Papertrey Ink blog hop's theme is HEARTS!  We were to make make a card with hearts, keeping someone special in mind, write a message on the inside, and then send it right out.

I chose to make my first shaker card. I've had the "Shaker & Sprinkles" kit and used it for other things...just not a shaker until this weekend ((gasp)) !

I used some bright and cheerful papers by Echo Park called "Splendid Sunshine."


Split the sentiment so that part was inside the heart, and part outside.  Added some of the mini pink sequins from the kit and some hearts cut from the same background paper.


The "scatter" was cut from black cardstock then coated with Wink of Stella glitter pen.  Two mini adhesive hearts and some baker's twine to frame the sentiment.

I know just who to send this to...someone who has been making some fabulous handmade gifts for the family to keep us all warm and snuggly this winter!  If you are reading this, THANK YOU!

    This is so sweet Kelly! I love that you have been using the Shakers Kit for everything but shaker cards! You waited just long enough to come up with a fabulous shaker design. Nice work!

    This card is fantastic! I love you how took the traditional icon of a heart and made it totally modern and fresh! Those bold stripes are fabulous and the color palette is amazing. I love everything about this card, so kudos on a job well done!
