I chose to make a card with Jeanne's signature colors...purple and red!
I chose to use the new Waltzingmouse Stamp "Yonder Background" that will be released tomorrow (can't wait to see what Jeanne does with it when it arrives at her house :).
Colored a rose from Roses in Bloom with Copics and gave it super-sized dimension! Stamped the sentiment from Back in the Saddle and tucked it in one of the labels from Very Vintage Labels No. 10 embossed in silver.
I left out one necessary Jeanne element from my card...a big bow. I couldn't do it. Have you SEEN what she does with ribbon? It would be like baking her a cake on her birthday and then eating it all myself. That may be a bad analogy, but I essentially mean it would be all kinds of wrong for me to try and replicate! Besides, I am as bad at baking cakes as I am at making big fancy bows, lol!
I hope you have the best birthday month ever, Jeanne! I am so glad that we have had the chance to become friends in this big blog world! Here are some other ladies who are celebrating Jeanne Jachna Birthday month TOO...
Supplies:
Stamps: Yonder Star Background, Roses in Bloom, Back in the Saddle, Very Vintage Labels No. 10
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, Plum Pudding
Ink: VersaMagic Eggplant, Stampin Up Real Red, Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaMark, Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress ink, Copic Markers
Other: Stickles, A Muse Studio silver embossing powder
Wonderful card and loved your comments about Jeanne's cards {colors, bows etc.}!! Actually, I have a had a really busy week and have been looking at the peeks but, no time to comment..was e-mailing with her today and sent an e-mail this evening asking about you!! Didn't see your WMS peek earlier today... you live in NY... and I was worried/wondering!! Glad you and yours are okay!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous card--even without a bow. I know what you mean about Jeanne's bows. I love your big, beautiful rose.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, Kelly! Love your stunning rose and the fabulous background! Hugs
ReplyDeleteWell I think your large gorgeous red flower covers for a Jeanne bow. Oh this is soo … pretty Kelly! Love the background as well.
ReplyDeleteEeek!! OMG Kelly - gotta say you ladies got one over on me!! I adore your red and purple card! I have absolutely no doubt that you made this one for me - AMAZING! (Still freaking out!!) How lucky am I to have friends like you? I am so blessed! Thank you so much Kelly!! PS your card doesn't need one single thing - especially not a bow - and I say we hit the bakery for the cake - my treat!
