Hoedown Sketch!

That was SUCH a fun week celebrating the 100th sketch at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge blog!  One of the things that I love the most is that there are entries from all over the world.  It makes me heart happy to think of us all crafting in our little spaces around the globe, drawing inspiration from the same sketch!  It was so difficult narrowing down last week's entries to the Top Mice and the Guest Mischief Maker...like truly agonizing!  The entries were so inspiring!  But now it's time for a new sketch as we start making our way to #200 :)

#101......by our fun-loving Mischief Maker Edna Morrisedie!

Here is my card...

I tend to be a "late to the party" trend watcher.  I am just catching the western fever NOW!  I purchased October Afternoon's Sasparilla paper in April and finally got to use some for this card!  I picked up the whole pack just because I was practically weak in the knees over the navy ticking stripe and gingham papers in the pack.  My friend was teasing me because I was buying the pack for two patterns, but I realllllly loved them!  I also seem to be obsessed with the colors navy and red lately (see last week's sketch card :))!!

I was trying to channel Maureen P. when I made this card, because she always makes the most inspiring shabby chic western cards with the WMS set Back in the Saddle!  The little denim half medallion is cut with the Memory Box Woodrow Rosette.  I actually was trying to make a full medallion, but I adhered it wrong and ripped it when pressing it into the center.  It kind of sprung onto my table looking like this, and it turned into a "happy accident" kind of bunting!

Your turn to play along!  Upload your creation with this sketch HERE by next Friday, June 15th.  Be sure to include at least one WMS image on your project to be eligible to be the randomly-selected participant who will win a WMS stamp set of choice!

Edited to add:  Congrats to VICKIE Z. for her Guest Mischief Maker win!  Yay!!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Back in the Saddle, Waltzingmouse Stamps
Paper:  October Afternoon's Sasparilla, My Mind's Eye, PTI Rustic Cream
Ink:  Stampin Up Not Quite Navy, Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress ink
Other:  Memory Box Woodrow Rosette die, A Muse Studio star dies, solid baker's twine from Olive Manna, mini library clip from Stampin Up, buttons

  10. This card is super cute Kelly, I love your little "mistake" rosette...looks like you planned it to be only a half rosette, you shouldn't have told us! I love that patterned paper too and those stars look great with that cute sentiment. This set has really grown on me over the last few months, so many people are using it. I guess I better get it, after all I live in Horsetown USA!

  15. Kelly such a fun card. Love the large stars, perfect for the western theme. The striped paper is also a great complement to your western patriotic card. By the time I jump on It will be over, so I might just enjoy what everyone else comes up with or not.
