A Day Late & A Blog Hop Short!

Hee!  I started my card for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop last night...at 10:25 PM.  Considering my speed of crafting, probably not the best idea when the hop ended at 11:30 PM!  But I couldn't resist the inspiration photo and the color scheme, so I decided to post my final project anyways!

I got out the new Happy Hexagons stamp set and coordinating cover plate and had some fun!

Used a combination of inks and tried to mimic some of the patterns from the photo.  I actually ended up finishing my card this morning before work.  I tried various other focal points and just could not settle on something that I liked before turning in for the night.  When I woke up,  I remembered Betsy and Debbie's hexagon cards paired with images from Quilter's Sampler!  So I added a sentiment and the little thread spool all covered with real (as opposed to fake ??) yellow thread...and a heart stick pin from my stash that surprisingly looks very New Leaf-y!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my "tardy" project this month :)!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Happy Hexagons, & Quilter's Sampler, both Papertrey Ink
Paper:  PTI white
Ink:  PTI New Leaf, Fresh Ink in Pear, Hero Arts Butter Bar, Memento Tuxedo Black
Other:  PTI's Hexagon Cover Plate and Mat Stack 1 die, thread, heart stick pin, twine

  1. Love this Kelly! I think you chose the perfect set to go with the hexagons. Love the way you wrapped the thread around the spool.
