HBD Sketch

A fun sketch with lots of possibilities created by Lee Ann at Freshly Made Sketches!

I turned the sketch 90 degrees to the right so I could use The Stamp Market's big "HBD" die!

Stamped some yellow gingham along the bottom, and added a die cut sentiment from The Stamp Market's Hip Hip Hooray set.

Added some big flowers from Reverse Confetti's Garden Bunch and leaves from Blooms 'N Buds, then small, purple flowers and leaves from Papertrey Ink's Floral Fantasy sets.

Some Nuvo Drops here and there to finish this sunny spring birthday card! I am also entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp "Work it Wednesday" challenge for March with the theme "spring flowers!" Thanks for stopping by!

Great Pig Paper Hugs Throwdown

Today is my last post as the guest designer at the Color Throwdown, and what a fun month it has been! Thank you so much to all who have visited, and to the lovely DT members for asking me to play along!

This week's lovely color combination is by Lisa Henke...mauve, moss green, and cream...

I went in a bit of a different direction than this beautiful floral inspiration...!
Created an encouragement card featuring sweet products from Avery Elle and The Stamp Market...

Oops! 😁...I saw a pink pig and green polka dots! The sweet Paper Hug layered die is from The Stamp Market. I brushed it with A Muse Studio's Spruce ink then stamped it with PTI's Polka Dot Basics in Peeled Paint Distress ink.

Added a little pig and flowers (and teeny hooves!) from Avery Elle's Peek-a-Boo Pets. This set is filled with adorable animals (and feet!) which could hang out on just about any card. Also stamped a sentiment from PTI's Ways to Say: Get Well Soon, and a little grass detail from Petite Pots.

Sending great "pig" paper hugs to the Color Throwdown team...I've had a blast this month! XOOO

Miniature Things

Playing along with Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge to use miniature things on your card or project. I chose some of the adorable Whittle dies and the "miniest" tag that I have ever seen from  Memory Box!

I used Whittle Rabbit, Whittle Birds, Whittle Eggs, and Whittle Basket. The sentiment is from a Waltzingmouse Stamps set called "Spring Baskets."

I made a watercolor wash for the background then stamped some coordinating mini dots with Papertrey Ink's  Polka Dot Basics. The tiny heart tag is cut with Memory Box's "Simple Little Tags."  Some Stardust Stickles and Wink of Stella pen for dewy spring sparkle! Even the card itself is a bit small, measuring about 3.5 x 5 inches.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hearty Throwdown

So lucky to continue being the guest designer this month at the Color Throwdown challenge! This week, Jodi Collins chose some colors that are right up my country-loving alley...red, yellow,
soft green, and white!

For my card, I chose some new stamps, dies, and a stencil, all from The Stamp Market...

The flowers are from the Blossom Party set, dotted in the centers with some Glossy Accents.
I tucked them inside the sweet Hand-Drawn Heart die cut.

The background is made by brushing A Muse Studio's Lichen pigment ink over The Stamp Market's Plaid Stencil.  The friend sentiment from Blossom Party is stamped and die cut.

Jodi's choice of sunny colors must mean that spring is just around the corner 😁!
Thanks for stopping by!

Toasty Throwdown!

I am so lucky to be the guest designer this month at the Color Throwdown challenge blog, and I just loved Amy Rohl's picks for this week...brown, orange, and light blue!

Warm and toasty, right?! So I had to use Lawn Fawn's adorable Let's Toast stamps and interactive pop-up dies...

I colored the sweet images with Copics, and added some silver Sakura Stardust glitter pen to the top of the toaster.

Used small sentiments from the set, then added my own addition of "marmalade" using Lawn Fawn's Milo's Alphabet" stamp set.

Lots of dotted papers from a DCWV pad, some mini hearts, and a little gooey edge for my marmalade stamp on the toast, made with Glossy Accents.

I just LOVE these colors together, and need to save it to my list of favorite color combinations!

Color Throwdown Guest

I was thrilled to be asked by the Color Throwdown Challenge Blog to be the Guest Designer for March! Their blog is one of my favorite weekly visits, and I am always inspired by the Design Team's samples and color combinations. Participating in this challenge so often has really helped my card-making skills improve!

So now onto this week's lovely combination chosen by Broni Holcombe...

This lovely courtyard is awash in gray, purple, lavender, and  kraft! Here is my card using Papertrey Ink's A Bit More: Butterfly Blooms mini stamp set, and Pinkfresh Studio's Fleur 1 stamps and dies....

The butterfly is stamped with Versamark on gray paper, then heat embossed in white. The sentiment is from PTI's Balloon Strings Mini stamp set. I also added a frame of A Muse Studio's woodgrain patterned paper cut with the Shape Shifters Square #3, and a wreath cut with the Rustic Wreath dies.

Used lots of Broni's neutral kraft and gray, then spots of (or dare I say "splashes of" 😉) watercolored lavender flowers and "blueberries" using Nuvo Drops!

So excited to join the ladies at Color Throwdown this month...it will make my often dreary March in upstate New York so much cheerier. Thanks for stopping by!
