No Stamps Allowed!

At Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge Blog this week, the challenge was to make a card or project without using any stamps! I was inspired by Sandy Allnock's youtube video in which she watercolored the die cuts using Pinkfresh Studio's Fruitastic dies with watercolors.

Used Zig Clean Color markers that I scribbled onto an acrylic block, then painted on the fruit with a small watercolor brush. Added some Wink of Stella glitter and white gel pen details and splattered white paint.

Embossed the background paper with a Sizzix Snowfall embossing folder (which makes me think of confetti, too!), and used a die from Papertrey Ink for the sentiment.

So hard to skip stamping, but the watercoloring experiment was really fun to try!

Poppin' Sketch

I couldn't wait to use Lawn Fawn's Let's Toast set with coordinating pop up dies, and Karren's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches gave me the perfect opportunity!

Here is my card...

With a poppin' reveal!...

I made the sentiment with PtI's Headline Alphabet dies, colored in an ombre pattern to match that scrap of clear embossed houndstooth I had made a long time ago!

Colored the scene with Copics and added a pale yellow polka dot background stamped with PTI's Polka Dot Basics.

Added tiny hearts with Wink of Stella pen details and colored the silver parts of the toaster with a Sakura Stardust pen.

These dies are SO easy to use after watching Kelly Marie Alvarez's Lawn Fawn channel video on You Tube! Thanks for poppin' by! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Perfect Pear Sketch

This weekend, I used Freshly Made Sketches' fun sketch and the "green and gold" color challenge at Simon Says Stamp's Work it Wednesday challenge for February!

Here is the FMS sketch by Cรฉcile Ribon...

Here is my green and gold card with it, using Pinkfresh Studio's Fruitastic set...

I made the background by clear embossing the Open Plaid Backgrounder, an oldie from Cornish Heritage Farms, then using a watercolor wash over it with my Zig Clean Color markers and a waterbrush.

Added the Fruitastic fruits and some flowers from the Fleur set, also by Pinkfresh Studio.

Heat embossed the sentiment with gold powder. Added some small gold-ish rhinestones, Nuvo Drops, and Glossy Accents to finish it off! A fruit card with some St. Patrick's Day flair! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Purple

For the Simon Says Stamp Blog Wednesday Challenge, you were to use black, white, and one other color on your card. I chose purple!

I used Concord and 9th's Sophisticated Script and Plaid Background stamps, then WPlus9 Studio's Fresh Cut Florals.

This card took me forever because I kept smudging black everywhere, and it's really hard to use only one color ๐Ÿ˜„!

Love is in the Air

This week's Monday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp was "Love is in the Air." It just so happened that Pinkfresh Studio's February Challenge is also LOVE!

I used Pinkfresh Studio's sweet Fleur 1 set and dies to make a bright Valentine!

I stamped the flowers on watercolor paper, and used my Zig Clean Color Markers and a waterbrush to shade them.

I die cut a stitched heart using PTI's Shaker & Sprinkles kit and layered up three stitched hearts for a frame. I arranged the flowers in a rainbow order peeking out of the left side, then placed the whole frame piece over the top with dimensionals.

Added some Wink of Stella pen details and Nuvo Drops to the flowers. Die cut the sweet "love" sentiment that I received with my Pinkfresh Studio purchase! Placed one tiny gem behind the "o" in love to make the word stand out against the flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Fruity Throwdown

I found this week's color combination at The Color Throwdown to be so refreshing and unique, something new that I would never reach for! Such great inspiration for these cold wintery days...

Aqua, saffron, brown, and yellow were the recipe, and out came my Fruitastic set from Pinkfresh Studio again!

A little sweet, and a little sour, like the sentiment from Pinkfresh Studio's Sweet Lemonade set says. I did faux watercoloring by inking the images in Fossilized Amber, Squeezed Lemonade, Brushed Corduroy, and Tumbled Glass Distress inks, and spritzing them with water before stamping on watercolor paper.

Added splatters of watered down acrylic paints in aqua and black, with some coordinating Nuvo Drops here and there.

Some die cut fruits to match, placed over a vellum layer with the sentiment. I am also entering this into this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge entitled "Anything Goes."

I love this set!
