Betsy Veldman had the sweetest technique for Papertrey Ink's "Make it Monday" this week! She called it "Mask and Stack." You repeat an open image by stamping, masking over the top with post-it notes cut with coordinating dies, sponge around the images, and then color them in!
Surprisingly, I don't have many "cute critter" stamps and dies from PTI, so I used this citrus slice from "Still Life: Summer" and additional images from "Hello Sunshine."
I stamped the citrus images, then while masked, sponged the top of the card with Tim Holtz "Squeezed Lemonade" ink, then stamped the rays from "Hello Sunshine" in a darker yellow.
My sentiment started to smear when I added the rays! So I stamped it again on a separate white piece of cardstock, cut it with the same citrus die, and placed it over the top. Accident averted!
Changed my citrus slices to oranges, limes, and lemons with the help of Copics! Dotted the center with Stickles, then also colored over the images with a Wink of Stella pen for some sparkle.
I have never been good at masking, but Betsy made it look so easy! Need to buy some cute critter images so I can try this again soon. Would be perfect birthday party cards!

Papertrey Ink: February Blog Hop
This month for Papertrey Ink's monthly blog hop, we had this lovely Easter centerpiece to be inspired by!
I chose to make a little scene using PTI's Petite Pots and Picket Fence die,
I was inspired by the little blue pots of flowers. I ran the picket fence through my Cuttebug with the Vineyard Impression Plate, then sponged it with Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass ink. Die cut and stamped yellow flowers from Petite Pots. The sentiment is also from Petite Pots.
I sponged a yellow "sun" behind the fence, and added some little acrylic dots along the fence as eggs.
Just like in the anniversary celebration bunny hunt, I hid a little vellum bunny behind the fence, it made me think of the glass one in the picture!
Such a lovely photo, makes me yearn for spring! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
SFYTT: Coral Floral
This month there is a lovely layered sketch at Reverse Confetti's February Sketch for You to Try!
I chose to use a set I just got called "Garden Bunches" along with the "Happy Pretty Panels Confetti Cuts."
Stamped and die cut flowers from Garden Bunches, and added a striped leafy die cut to match.
A few light rose sequins, and an embossed "birthday" from the "Whole Lotta Happy" set that is perfect with the Confetti Cut and has sentiments for every occasion!
Thanks for stopping by!

Make It Monday: Frames
This week at the Papertrey Ink blog, Laurie Schmidlin challenged us to frame our images and sentiments. She even showed ways to combine open dies to cut a unique frame! I took a frame die and combined it with a stitched rectangle die to make a little shaker tag...
I used flowers from Petite Pots and a sentiment from Bloom and Grow. Added some iridescent sequins to catch some of the colors in the flowers. Plus a little gingham is always the right touch on a spring tag!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

PTI Anniversary Challenge: Stripes
The last challenge for PTI's 11th Anniversary celebration. This time, the challenge was to use stripes! I paired it with this week's Fusion Card Challenge, using the sketch and the photo for inspiration.
I created a card using the Horizontal Stripes Cover Plate die...
I used sentiments and flowers from Bitty Bouquets to make my little floral spray. The "thanks" is stamped on a Double-Ended Banner die cut.
I ran the stripes piece through my Cuttlebug with PTI's Woodgrain Impression plate to mirror the wood on the door.
The "friend" from Bitty Bouquet is stamped on vellum and heat embossed in white. Some layered bouquets dotted with Liquid Pearls, adhesive pearls, and a twine bow to finish it off!
It was such fun to participate in all of the anniversary challenges. Ordered some new spring things from PTI's release, and hope to use them over February break from school!

Color Throwdown Guest!
I am so lucky to get to be the Guest Designer at the Color Throwdown Challenge!
Such springy pastels for this week...lilac, green, grey, and white!
Stamped the lilacs and some of the other flowers in grey, with a bit of greenery. The scene is backed with Soft Stone cardstock stamped with a light grey gingham pattern.
Added PTI's Picket Fence embossed with a woodgrain impression plate, then a "thanks" die cut. A few lilac buds dotted with Stickles, and some clear gems, to finish off a fun thank you note for spring!
Thanks so much to the girls at Color Throwdown for having me as a guest this week! LOVE that blog, always such fun inspiration:)!

PTI Retiring Sets Challenge
Back with another Papertrey Ink's 11th Anniversary Challenge, this time to use sets that are retiring this year. I chose two favorites, Everyday Button Bits and Polka Dot Basics.
Stamped the polka dot background in pink then layered some linen washi tape over the top. Clear embossed the green leaves, added some button cherries, and then a sentiment from Wonderful Words: Hello! Don't let these two sets retire without adding them to your collection :)!

PTI Anniversary Floral Challenge
Another PTI Anniversary Challenge card, this time for today's floral challenge! I used an oldie but goodie, the flowers from "Baby Button Bits," a fave of mine!
Added some sequins and a little butterfly, then filled all of the circles with punched or die cut circles of patterned paper. Glittered up the "Happy" for a sparkly finish!
Stamped the image in a pattern, then colored the leaves with Copics. Added the die cut sentiment "Happy" from Ways to Say: Birthday die, and then heat embossed a sentiment from "Vintage Picnic" on vellum.

PTI Anniversary Sketch Challenge
This week, Papertrey Ink is hosting their 11th anniversary celebration with lots of challenges and prizes. I am playing along with the Sketch Challenge today. I used Heather Nichols' card and sketch for some bird inspiration :)!
Here is my card...
My background is created with a strip of patterned paper, then a "confetti" background with flowers and dots from "Green Thumb" and more dots from "Polka Dot Basics." Some clear sequins and glitter, too!
So excited for this week of PTI announcements...thanks for stopping by!
Here is my card...
I used MORE "Brushed Birds," (love that set so much!), this time inked up in some parakeet colors, with a sentiment from "Scripted Sentiments."

Think Spring
I got in another set of challenges for the week! This time the simple, lovely sketch by Cecile at Freshly Made Sketches, paired with the vibrant colors at the Color Throwdown!
I stamped the birds in yellow and hot pink, then made a colorful rainbow wreath with an old favorite, PTI's "Wreath for All Seasons." I stamped the branch in green, then added berries in pink, yellow, and blue, with some added yellow berry bursts along the corners of the window.
For a bit of texture, I used the Vineyard Cover Plate over the top, and cut a Memory Box branch die in white for the birds to perch on. The birds are shimmered with a Wink of Stella pen, and the berries are dotted with a Sakura Glaze pen.
Have a Sunny Superbowl Sunday (say that five times fast). I'm going to lend my support to the Eagles JUST THIS ONCE since the Bills aren't in it :)!
I disagree with that Punxsutawney Phil down there in Pennsylvania! Spring feels like it's right around the corner with these colors, so I made a "Think Spring" card using PTI's Sweet Brushed Birds (again!) and a sentiment from Cutaway Tags: Spring...

Favorite Mermaid
I am playing along with two challenges this week, Simon Says Stamp's "Anything Goes" themed challenge for the week, and my first time at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge!
For the Tic Tac Toe Challenge, I chose the center horizontal panel...die cut, sequins, and my free space...stamping!
I made a window card full of sequins, bubbles, and some silvery stars. The window is cut with PTI's "Brushed Rectangles" die and underneath, I watercolored the ocean using the frame as a stencil. The seahorses and anchor are from Waltzingmouse Stamps "Ocean Bound" set and the "For You" sentiment from the "Gift Card It" set.
The bubbles were stamped with various circles from PTI's "Polka Dot Basics" and "Good Times," and also a bit of "sand" at the bottom, stamped with PTI's "Sand Swatches" mini set.
Colored and glittered up her hair (and sweet face) with Copics, then added her tail cut with Hawaiian Shores cardstock, covered in Stickles. I love this adorable die set, so much fun!
My favorite mermaid, aka my great niece Reegan, is having a birthday party this weekend, and I used the adorable Spellbinders "Build a Mermaid" Die D-Lites die (available HERE at Simon Says Stamp) to make a sea scene.
