Fancy a Cuppa Sketch

A triple challenge card tonight, for Color Throwdown, the Spring Coffee Lover's Blog Hop, and a sketch by Kim for Freshly Made Sketches!

Here is my card using the sweet Love You A Latte set from Lawn Fawn, Plaid Builder from PTI, and a sentiment by Claire Brennan...

Love these cheery colors for spring!

Berries Sketch

A sweet and simple sketch by Linda this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  I couldn't wait to use some of my new PTI anniversary release products, and chose Beautiful Berries for this sketch...

Here is my card:

I stamped the berries in AMuse Studio Sky, Latte, and Wheat inks, then added the details and sentiment with Fresh Ink in Navy.  The sentiment is from PTI's County Fair Make it Market kit.

I created a mask and stamped the old Stampin Up "Aida Cloth" background for the center.

The whole card was run through my Cuttlebug with PTI's Woodgrain impression plate, and I added some Glossy Accents on some of the berries.  It's so much fun to experiment with different colored berries with this set!

Lucky Colors

This week we had some St. Patrick's Day colors at the Color Throwdown, green, black, and gold.  I was so inspired by Lisa Henke's sample HERE, I love it!  So perfect!

I used my "Blooms 'N Buds" stamp set from Reverse Confetti, and similar sentiments from Lawn Fawn's "Hello Friends" set.

I did some masking to change the sentiments in the set, and I die cut the clover looking flower, stamped it in black, and embossed the details in gold.  It's popped over the negative space in the tag, and there's some dry embossed dots on the white paper underneath.  Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day :)!

Preppy Flowers Sketch

This week at Freshly Made Sketches, Rita Wright created a fun, layered sketch!

I used these sweet new Artsy Flower Parts from Simon Says Stamp to make a "preppy" flower card...

My card looked a little flat, so I popped up a second stamped flower over some in my garden (thanks, Kara, although I can't seem to remember which card I saw you do this on!).  The background is stamped with an old Cornish Heritage Farms backgrounder called "Open Plaid."

The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set called "You're So Lovely," and the two banners are stamped with PTI's "Background Basics: Retro" and "Polka Dot Basics."  A cheery card since spring arrives tomorrow (...I'll believe that when I see it, seeing as how we got 26 inches of snow in the Rochester area last week)!

Anniversary Birdhouse

Another challenge for Papertrey Ink's 10th Anniversary Challenges.  We were to make a birdhouse!  Nichole provided an adorable template HERE if you needed one like me :)!

I copied my template right on to some gingham patterned paper.  I used a sentiment from Flower Fusion #11.

Cut two different pieces using the PTI fence die, and bent the bottom and glued it under the birdhouse.  The flower garden is made with posies from Petite Pots.

I cut a piece of kraft paper using the Hexagon Cover Plate and filled in some of the pieces with yellow patterned paper and a floral piece stamped with Happy Hexagons.  I forget how much fun it is to make little 3-D projects sometimes!

PTI Anniversary Transformation Challenge

Papertrey Ink is having it's 10 year anniversary celebration and it's a snow day here in NY!  Got the chance to play along with today's "transformation challenge."  To take a card that you previously made, use the tips that have been listed on Nichole's blog this week, and make a new one!

Here is my first version of the card.

I hate this card, LOL!  The layout is terrible, unbalanced, and the sentiment pairing sprouted from an embossing mistake. Just...not a good look!  I only posted it because it was for the November blog hop and I had spent so long trying to fix it!

I used this tip from Nichole's blog...

Here is my new card:

Okay, this is better, but something is still not to my liking!  I think I should've cut the branch down a bit more, and the colors together are still not my fave, which surprises me because the inspiration piece was so awesome!

Off to see if I can get another card done for the challenges!
