Even though it's Halloween, there are Christmas treats in store for you today! The Waltzingmouse Stamps Design Team is featuring two more stamp sets that will be released this Friday, November 2. Today we are previewing Vintage Christmas Background and Compliments of the Season 2!!
Vintage Christmas Background coordinates perfectly with the prints and images from 3 previously-released sets...Seasons of Love-Tags, Very Vintage Christmas, and even one of the tags in Seasonal Remedies! I used the full-sized background for my first card...
I thought that it looked perfectly snowy stamped in soft blue :) Used the beautiful snowflake image from Very Vintage Christmas overstamped in navy ink.
Added a snowy hill and that sweet snowman from A Cottage Christmas. Sparkled him up with a stardust pen. This is one of my favorite sentiments from Compliments of the Season 2...LOVE that font!!
Another thing that I love? The freebie Sweetie Pouch template available in the store!
Cut the template using cranberry cardstock, then stamped a piece of fern cardstock using the Vintage Christmas Background. The band around the pouch is the stripe image from Very Vintage Christmas. The gorgeous sentiment is another from Compliments of the Season 2! It was stamped in VersaMark ink then heat embossed with white powder. Claire included the most gorgeous details on this one!
And last...could be my favorite :)
Earth Angel in a Vintage Christmas dress!! The tag image is from the Very Vintage Christmas stamp set and is cut out with the largest label from the Small Labels Nestabilities set. I paper-pieced the dress after stamping it over a piece of Vintage Christmas Background. See how the prints coordinate so well together?! Stamped the tag in latte ink and added yet another sentiment from Compliments of the Season 2. I could stamp 20 of these tags and each one would make me so happy!!
I hope that you have a great Halloween night...but do stop by these DT members' blogs for some more sugarfree TREATS :)!

Waltzingmouse Stamps November Release Preview, Day 1
Claire has put together an outstanding release for the holidays with 8 wonderful sets to be released this Friday, November 2! She has created Christmas sets the likes that have never been seen in stamp land! Today we are previewing 2 sets, Yonder Star and Yonder Star Background. Claire has decided to create full-size acrylic backgrounds in her wonderful and unique patterns!
Up first is a wine bottle wrapped in some festive red burlap and decorated with images from Yonder Star. I have seen the Head Moustress herself do a fancy cascading tag, and wanted to try one out myself!
I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with a Small Labels Nestie. Stamped the stars in VersaMark ink and heat embossed them with white powder. Added some gingham ribbon from May Arts and a few rusty jingle bells and now I have the perfect hostess gift to bring to a holiday shindig :)
Next up is Yonder Star paired with Yonder Star Background...
I stamped the image and sentiment from Yonder Star on Rustic Cream cardstock. Then I made a little kraft wreath with the Martha Stewart branch punch. I was going for a patina finish for the background. I stamped Yonder Star Background in VersaMark ink on this cool blue paper from The Paper Loft. I sprinkled clear embossing powder on randomly, and then went back and added some copper embossing powder in spots where the clear "missed."
After heat embossing it, I got a very fun effect! A little bit textured like denim, and a little bit shiny to complete the rustic look!
Cannot even wait to use these sets again! You'll probably be seeing them throughout my release projects...they are very addicting! Now off you go to see the rest of the Design Team Members' projects!

Autumn Sketch
Now it's time to feature some Mischief Makers at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog! The sketch this week is by the amazing papercrafter (and a bow-tying magician) Jeanne Jachna!
I decided to sneak in an autumn card before the Christmas bonanza begins! Used the saltbox house and sentiment from Blessed by You and two Teeny Trees. The paper is from the Simple Stories "Generations" collection...such beautiful patterns and colors in that one.
The house was stamped with chocolate ink and then clear embossed. Added some Sakura glaze pen to the leaves on the trees and a few that were scattered along the bottom.
Upload your creation with the sketch HERE by next Friday, November 2. If you use at least 1 Waltzingmouse Stamps image on your project, you will be eligible to win a WMS set of choice.
Have you been watching Claire's blog? She is showcasing some sneak peeks for the upcoming November release, yippee!
Supplies:
Stamps: Blessed by You, Teeny Trees, both Waltzingmouse Stamps
Paper: Simple Stories "Generations," PTI Kraft and Rustic White cardstock
Ink: Fresh Ink in Honey, Chocolate, and Merlot, and Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink
Other: Hero Arts ultra fine clear embossing powder, Sakura glaze pen, twine, button

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop
This month at Papertrey Ink, the theme for the blog hop was "non-traditional holiday color schemes." I chose to use Ripe Avocado, Scarlet Jewel, Sweet Blush, and Dark Chocolate...kind of like traditional colors but in cooler hues! I started my card quite late today, and the light was not cooperating. Should have taken it outside because it was sunny and 83 degrees here today!
I made a Christmas quilt using Guide Lines Grid 1 paper and images from Quilter's Sampler and Quilter's Sampler Additions. I chose 3 different squares that I thought looked "Christmas-y"...like a poinsettia, a Christmas tree, and the other...well, I needed a filler one :) Colored them with Copic markers then stamped over the whole piece with my old SU Linen Background Stamp in Vintage Cream ink.
I cut a window using a nestie and filled it with the stitched pattern from Holiday Buttons Bits and the sweet tree from Love Lives Here Holiday. Added a Scarlet Jewel felt heart cut with the regular Love Lives Here dies. I tried many different sentiments tucked inside die cuts of all shapes and sizes, but nothing looked right to me. I think that I just didn't want to cover up the quilt!
This is my favorite stamping time of year. Can't wait to see all of the projects. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!
Supplies:
Stamps: Quilter's Sampler, Quilter's Sampler Additions, Love Lives Here Holiday, Holiday Button Bits, all Papertrey Ink; and Linen Background, retired Stampin Up
Paper: PTI white, Guide Lines 1 Grid cardstock, Scarlet Jewel cardstock
Ink: VersaColor Bamboo, Memento Rich Cocoa, Fresh Ink in Currant, Copic Markers, PTI Vintage Cream, Tim Holtz Antique Linen
Other: Spellbinders Labels 4 Nestabilities, PTI Scarlet Jewel Felt, Love Lives Here Holiday and Love Lives Here dies, pink pearl

CR84FN and some WMS news!
This week at the CR84FN Color Challenge, there are some soft, girly colors to inspire us: light pink, tan, and cream...
I chose to use the Vintage Garden-Seed Packet image that is now available in the Waltzingmouse Stamps store!
I stamped the seed packet in Espresso Truffle ink, chose the carnation image for the center, then shaded both with Copics. It's very hard to see, but at the bottom I stamped Text-It with Latte ink and then ran the piece through my cuttlebug with a Sizzix flourish embossing folder. Added a piece embossed with a Cuttlebug distressed stripes folder at the top. The little charm tag is cut with the Waltzingmouse Stamps Opera Tags Spellbinders and stamped using the coordinating stamp set. Added the "Sow Early" image from the Vintage Garden-Seed Packet set to the center.
Now for a close up of the seed card. I stamped the Chicken Wire background in Pebble ink in the background before stamping the seed packet and carnation. When I was all done distressing and shading, I wanted to add some sparkle to the carnation to keep this card nice and girly :)!
Now for news...
I noticed at the Waltzingmouse Stamps Store that some more items are back in stock! They are Festive Foliage, A Cottage Home, A Cottage Christmas, and Big Blooms-Poinsettias! Just in time for the Christmas season, yay!
New note!: I think I made a bit of a mistake about the sneak peeks going up on October 22nd! Claire did mention today that she will provide some details about the November release tomorrow...October 24th! So stay tuned to her blog!! I am telling you...you are NOT going to want to miss what she has up her sleeve for the holidays...and more!
Supplies:
Stamps: Vintage Garden Seed Packet, Chicken Wire, Opera Tags, and Text-It, all Waltzingmouse Stamps
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, Fine Linen, Kraft cardstock

Beware Sketch
A sketch from the fabulous Clare Buswell is featured this week at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog!
I could hardly wait to use the Opera Tags stamp set and coordinating Opera Tags Nestabilities (designed by Claire!) with this sketch!
The awesome spider web paper is from October Afternoon's Witch Hazel Collection. I stamped the Opera Tags "theater curtain" image in celery ink and then clear embossed it. The sentiments are from Halloween Party. The spooky bats are cut with a Memory Box die and the glittering webs with PTI's Spider Web Trio die. See the big creepy spider lurking in the bottom right corner? EEK!
Witch Wanda from Midnight Feast looked right at home flying over the top! I stamped her in black ink, glittered up her apron, and colored the "moon" behind her with Copics.
Upload your creation HERE by next Friday, October 26th. If you use a Waltzingmouse Stamps image on your project, you will be eligible to be the randomly-selected player who will win a WMS stamp set of choice!
Supplies:
Stamps: Opera Tags, Halloween Party, Midnight Feast, all from Waltzingmouse Stamps
Paper: October Afternoon's Witch Hazel, PTI's Limeade Ice and White cardstock, charcoal glittered cardstock from American Crafts
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Fresh Ink in Celery, Copic markers
Other: Waltzingmouse Stamps "Opera Tags" Spellbinders Nestabilities, PTI's Spider Web Trio dies, Memory Box Swooping Bats dies, A Muse Studio clear embossing powder, Stickles

Waltzingmouse Stamps October Blog Party!
It's October 17th, and that means it's time for another Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party! This month we were issued a color challenge...
Okay, I thought this was SUCH a doozy! I have never pushed so many scraps of paper around in my life, LOL! Purple, orange, and black are the colors of the day...and they just happen to be the ones that I reach for the least, eeeek! Since I found them so scary, I thought it would be an excellent opportunity to use them on a Halloween card.
I cut some strips of PTI cardstock in the colors Smokey Shadow, Royal Velvet, Plum Pudding, Canyon Clay, and a teeny bit of Melon Berry. I glued them down and ran the whole piece through my Cuttlebug with (an oldie but goodie) the D'Vine Swirls embossing folder.
I sprayed the whole piece with some Tsukineko Sheer Shimmer Spritz in "Frost", then cut out an oval window with a Nestie.
I stamped Witch Wanda from Halloween Party and then did some fussy cutting (double eek!). I almost called Anya for help, hee! Lastly, I stamped one of the cool vintage patterns from Ovals-Classic Frames and added the fence, sentiment, and a little crow from Hocus Pocus over the top.
I can't wait to see all of the wonderful fall inspiration that you created with this challenging color scheme! You have until tomorrow, Thursday October 18th at 1:30 PM EST to upload your creation to Claire's blog HERE. She will highlight special projects and also announce the randomly-selected winner of a free stamp set on October 20th. Thanks for stopping by today!

Nice List Sketch
This week at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog we have a sketch by Design Team member (and papercrafting superhero)...Becca Feeken! It's such a unique one that was so much fun to use!
I sat and thought about the sets that I have with cute circular images and Around Christmastime immediately popped into my head...those snowflakes! Such gorgeous images. I stamped them with VersaMark ink and heat embossed them in white. This paper was originally Vintage Cream but I sponged and sponged with Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress inks until I got a decidedly "gingerbread" color :)
The bottom was stamped with patterns from Nordic Winter and a sentiment from Nutcracker Sweet. Got out my rusty jingle bells, so that must mean that Christmas is not far away!
Upload your creation with this beautiful sketch HERE by next Friday, October 19th. The rules have changed a bit, in that participants can use images from any companies to play along; however, only the players that include at least 1 Waltzingmouse Stamps image on their project will be eligible for the prize of a stamp set of choice.
DON'T FORGET! The Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party will take place this Wednesday, October 17th! The theme this month is to make a card using any shades of purple, orange, and black (paired with any neutrals such as cream, white, grey, and kraft). You are NOT limited to Halloween...you can create any type of card or project with the colors! All of the details can be found in Claire's post HERE.
Supplies:
Stamps: Around Christmastime, Nordic Winter, Nutcracker Sweet, all Waltzingmouse Stamps
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream
Ink: Stampin Up Cherry Cobbler, Memento Espresso Truffle, Tim Holtz Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress inks, VersaMark
Other: Spellbinders Standard Circles Large and Small Nestabilities, A Muse Studio white embossing powder, rusty jingle bell, Kaiser pearls in chocolate, twine

Snowflake Quilt card
I finally got to upload the one card that I completed for the Moxie Fab World Card Making Day Challenges! I chose to make a Christmas card...
It is a sickness. I can't stop with the hexagons! This time I used the Happy Hexagon stamp set and Cover Plate from Papertrey Ink paired with the stitched snowflake from Waltzingmouse Stamps Sewing Box-Christmas set! On my way home from work on Saturday, I found that my local AC Moore was selling the 6x6 pack of Crate Paper's "Random" Collection. BIG score because we never have the really "in" patterned papers around here until much later after their release!
I cut out a middle panel from the cover plate piece and the little snowflake fit inside perfectly! I stamped the snowflake twice, added a heart from the set, and placed each of the 3 layers on dimensionals. Had to tuck a sentiment on the inside because I just ran out of room! I chose the "All Hearts Come Home for Christmas" sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps Seasons of Love-Tags set.
Three cheers for World Card Making Day! Now if I could only learn to stamp faster so I could enter more of the challenges :)
Supplies:
Stamps: Sewing Box-Christmas and Seasons of Love-Tags, Waltzingmouse Stamps and Happy Hexagons, Papertrey Ink
Paper: PTI Soft Stone and Rustic White, Crate Paper "Random" Collection
Ink: Fresh Ink in Slate and Black Tea
Other: Papertrey Ink's Hexagon Cover Plate

Bewitched Sketch...and a CR84FN bonus card!
October is here, and we're starting off the month with more fabulous sketches from DT members at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog. This week's sketch is by Sarah Martina Parker!
Time for a little Hocus Pocus...
I paired the fabulous witch and circle sentiment from Halloween Party with the fence and "Bewitched" sentiment from Hocus Pocus. Papers are from Authentique's "Enchanted" Collection. Also had to add a touch of PTI's new Limeade Ice ribbon and cardstock (and some lime potion bubbles, too)!
It seems that I can never resist including an opening gate when I stamp this fence image! Just cut the fence apart at the gate, and scored lines at the "hinges."
Upload your creations with this sketch HERE by next Friday, October 12th. Be sure to include at least 1 Waltzingmouse Stamps image on your project to be eligible to be the randomly-selected player who will win a WMS stamp set of choice!
GREAT news! The August release sets (all 9 of them) have arrived in the store!
Go grab Camellia, Opera Tags Stamps (with coordinating Spellbinders Opera Tags Nestabilities designed by Claire!), Bright Season, Little Lanterns, Light of the World, Vintage Garden-Seed Packet, Vintage Garden-Flowers, Vintage Garden-Produce, and Appleblossom Seeds NOW!
What better time to use the new set Little Lanterns than to join the CR84FN Color Challenge on World Card Making Day! This week's colors are light blue, yellow, and green...
I challenged myself to make a Christmas card with these colors...heavy on the light blue, a bit skimpy on the green, and REALLY stingy with the yellow :)
I used an awesome new Cuttlebug Hexagon embossing plate (one can never have enough hexagon-building apparatus) and stamped the small snowflake from Sewing Box-Christmas in each one. Dotted the centers with Stickles to add sparkle. I made the Beaded Oval into a frame by cutting the middle out with a Standard Oval Small nestie. That is turning into one of my favorite things to do!
Stamped a lantern, candle, flame, and "glow" image from Little Lanterns, then added the cluster of festive leaves from Bright Season at the top. Turned my holly into "mistletoe" with some white gems. The sentiment is a teeny one from Seasons of Love-Tags. I hope to be back later on this World Card Making Day to participate in some challenges!
Speaking of challenges...don't forget! The October 17th Waltzingmouse Blog Party theme has been revealed. See the post on Claire's blog HERE for more details!
